How Long Do You...?

Young Mage

BANALITY
How long do you give the MK Community before it dies out like all other communities?

I feel as though the majority of avid MKers will most likely cease indulging in this gory game by the end of the next fiscal year. Naturally, the hardcore, l33t pros will continue climbing the perilous mountain until they reach the prized apex. Heck, after peering down from their height, they will reach for the stars and continue to pump out videos.

Anyone agree/disagree?

No way will the MK Kommunity ever die out.
We may lose numbers (in terms of fans) when a game doesn't do insanely well (See MK:D, MK:DA, and MK:A) but that doesn't mean the kommunity is gone. Hell, a game about an Italian midget and his green brother has had one of the most insane followings of all time and it all started in 1981 with Donkey Kong. So, a fighting game with blood and guts that has had an insane cult following since 1992... that's not going to go away any time soon.

Really good point. I stuck through Mortal Kombat through it all, and I will never leave the kommunity.

Your post makes plenty of sense logically. However, empirical science refutes it. You see, I've been seeing this exact sentiment posted on this site periodically for my entire eight years as a member

Mortal Kombat is only marginally younger than me (by a few years). It's been around since my childhood. I'm not worried.

The 2D MK community is where most of my MK interest in, and it's been running strong for ~19 years, so yeah, I'm not concerned about it dying off an time soon.

I'm normally usually not a fan of any "community" to be honest when it comes to gaming. I've been in my share and they all end the same. Not well. I just usually stick around til I've grown tired. I'm sure most people are going to be like this seeing as most people have a life and has to eventually move on. Newbies will always take there place.

Same here. I am not a huge fan of 3D MK but it wont stop me from disliking the series or never participating in an MK community.

MK isn't just a passing phase <3

If we can make it through Special Forces, the DC Universe, Kratos and Freddy, I think we'll be just fine.

I am no "active" TRMK community member but,... for all things MK related or just to have a quick fix of humor (cuz some posts are freaking hilarious) I'll be going nowhere but here... and since MK is in my life for 20years, I doubt it's gonna go any time soon.

BTW: I have a new addiction and it's collecting all those MK statues from Syco... I'm gonna be MK driven for still quite a while me thinks; lol.
