Guest Characters, Yay or Neigh?

Should guest characters be in MK10?

I pray that MK10 is going to be announced like many of us. I did a forum search and its been almost a couple of years since this was asked.

So what do we think? Do any have a place in Mortal Kombat? Only certain characters? Or do they take valuable roster positions away from an already established cast?

Edit: Dammit it's meant to be 'nay'. No horse characters (or Zebron) please lol.:ridinghorse:

I voted yes on the poll.

While some do not like guest characters, I find guest characters adds something new and surprising plus it attracts new people to the game kind of like Freddy Krueger as Guest in MK9 or Kratos in brought those people who were fans of them to MK. It is good for business and a lot of companies do it now. Dead or Alive and Soul Calibur are the fighting games that do this the most with guest characters.

Why not have a guest character if it means more people will get into the games? It's a good thing to happen just don't want no DLC guest characters that take the spot that could have been an MK character.
 
Guest characters are to MK what illegal immigrants are to our country; subhuman, disgusting, no right to belong, on our property ILLEGALLY, and worthy of either lifetime deportation or execution! Mortal Kombat is for Mortal Kombat characters ONLY!

I voted no. I would rather have the character slot that they spend on a guest character be used for a past/future MK character or an entirely new MK character.

Freddy Krueger should have been Tremor.
 
I'm getting really tired of seeing people talk about guest characters. There's too many debates on it. The 2 sides are never going to agree on something. And it's just gonna keep going. People just have to learn to accept that Mortal Kombat will have guest characters. Their complaining will do nothing. I'm not for guest characters, but I just learn to accept.
 
I voted no as I do believe they take roster spots away from MK characters. It is Mortal Kombat after all, so if I buy a Mortal Kombat game, I want to see Mortal Kombat characters. I'll admit that Kratos for MK9 was a pretty good choice, but Freddy Krueger... *sigh* He probably took Fujin's spot as the forth DLC character.. what a shame.
 
Well, Spawn is pretty much a given for MK10. They've already talked to Todd McFarline and he liked the idea.

Pretty sure xbox will get Fulgore this time around for a console exclusive character.

Wonder what Playstation will get? Kratos again?

Freddy Krueger got his ass kicked by a 1980s rock 'n' roll hair band in a music video. The bass player of that same band did the voice of Johnny Cage in the same MK game Freddy Krueger appears in.

It's a yes if it'll be the chainsaw wielding cheerleader and the red-headed Damphir who wields to large arm blades.

Cheerleaders are inherently un-MK-like, and so are schoolgirls. You can, however make a case for someone like Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

And the arm blade thing is already taken in MK; it's called the Tarkatan race.

Dude, I respect you and all, but it's not gonna happen. You're the only person who's requesting this and it's getting annoying. Besides, the cheerleader doesn't fit in Mortal Kombat :S

That cheerleader is packed ready offer lots of blood and gore. She does and in some YouTube comments I've read, others are requesting Ms. Lollipop Chainsaw. ;)

Basically, anyone has a chance.

While we're at it, let's push for Cookie Monster in MK! Even he is more MK-like than a cheerleader!

Again, the cheerleader fits in because of her CHAINSAW! That alone is enough to have her be in MK.

That's like giving Ozzy Osbourne a violin and saying, "let's put Ozzy in the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra just because he has a violin". See any holes in that logic? I certainly do. Ozzy Osbourne is a rock 'n' roll/heavy metal/shock rock singer, and the LA Symphony Orchestra plays classical music. Because that's exactly the logic behind putting a cheerleader in MK. It's called a sheep in a wolf's clothing, or a square peg in a round hole.

Oh damn, Leatherface actually sounds pretty damn cool for a guest character. Imagine the fatalities.

I agree with what you're saying on the chainsaws. But just because she has a chainsaw doesn't mean she automatically fits in Mortal Kombat. Freddy's gloves are awesome, but he himself didn't even fit in Mortal Kombat. She should be in games like Soul Cab. or Tekken. As for Mortal Kombat? She doesn't fit in. Her name itself doesn't even fit in. I can't hear any of the annoucers from previous Mortal Kombat games say her name.
 
Not to mention Juliet Starling is from a lame cult classic game that nobody but Nasty Freak even knows about.
She is NEVER going to be in Mortal Kombat.


Over characters like Spawn, Predator, Jason, Fulgore or Sweet Tooth? Not happening.
