Games you went masochist for?

What are some of the games that totally kicked your ass, yet you loved it so much you kept coming back for more? I think my biggest one was Devil May Cry 3 :twisted:
 
ssf4ae. i had no experience with sf whatsoever before getting that game. got my ass kicked from day one since sf has been out for a long time everyone seems to have insane experience, but i thought it was cool. kept playing even though i got my ass handed to me 90% of the time ^^
 
Ok first of all, Me and my Dad still have never beat sunset riders. It is alot like Contra but with cowboys and shit.
Max lives, two players, and we always just make it to the boss and die.
It's been that way for so long.. F*CK you Sunset Riders!!!
Also, Mike Tyson's Punchout.
And the boss fight with Eggman in Sonic Adventure.
 
Phantasy Star 1, Ghouls and Ghosts (Genesis) - the real ending, Donkey Kong, and plenty more I can't think of. I love a good challenge.
 
There was an SNES game called "Out of this world". It had a really cool art style the characters weren't outlined. Sort of like how "samurai jack" looks. It had a really cinematic take on gameplay. So much so that one false move or mistake equaled instant death. It was brutal but very cool. I definitely recommend it. But be warned you will die a whole lot. You can get it on PC I think.
