Games you gave up on

BBBLP

Robot Rock
Which games have you played, that you just couldn't finish?
I'm not talking about playing 30 minutes of it and turning it off, I mean a game you were once dedicated to that you just dropped.

For me it's Devil May Cry one, Arkahm Asylum, Tomb Raider II, PS2 Shinobi, Rayman DS,Metroid Prime 3 and Mortal Kombat Mythologies

Dmc I got stuck on a very annoying puzzle and never got around to solving it. Arkahm I was really enjoying, but somebody played my save one night and skipped a huge portion of the game for me so I lost interest. Tomb Raider II I had a bad save, where every time I would load it some guy would shoot me dead with nothing I could do, Rayman DS I was stuck on a punishing level and decided it wasn't worth it. And MK Mythos got hard as hell

Twisted Metal.... Having to play to unlock the very thing that would allow me to win was just too unappealing for me to continue. Heavy Rain never got finished after I lost my data and had to start over and finally, every last ASSasins Creed game ever made - I convince myself to give them a chance and every time they let me down... they are just awful!

Edit: I will have my revenge at this game after I'm done raging

I have way too many to name them all. But some of them include....
  • Assassin's Creed: There wasn't a lot to do considering the scale and scope of the game, but I stuck with it, hoping to find some good out of it. To me, it wasn't as great as people made it out to be, and the frequent crashes wore away my patience.
  • Alundra: The dungeons had some tricky puzzles. I got stuck and eventually gave up.
  • Shinobi (PS2): I genuinely like the game but damn was it hard.
  • Herdy Gerdy: It's one of the more offbeat games I played. However, I hated timed challenges and I got stuck on one of them since that particular level was difficult to navigate.
  • Makai Kingdom: I played the hell out it, but lost my copy while traveling. I haven't got around to getting replacement copy.
  • Metal Gear Solid 4: I got a used copy with some scratches. The game worked fine at first and I was having fun. Somewhere after the Raven boss, the game kept on crashing during a cutscene. I was bummed and didn't have the motivation to buy another copy and start over.
  • Oblivion: It was my first taste in an "open-world" rpg. However, the leveling system was downright awful, practically forcing you to grind skills you would not normally use in order to maximize your character's attributes.
  • Skyrim: While overall a better experience than Oblivion, there are some things I found disappointing (it had even more technical issues) which took a toll on my patience the longer I played.
  • Final Fantasy VIII: I was unprepared in the fight against Adell and I couldn't get out of the dungeon.
  • Ring of Red: I wanted to like it, but I just couldn't get into the battle system.
  • Gladius: Damned Insect-Z league

Spiderman 2, I could never beat Doc Oc man :(

Also InFamous. Shit dude the enemies are hard as hell

Also Ninja Gaiden, couldn't get the hammer at some place and just said fvck it. Little did I know I couldn't get to a certain level without that hammer so I basically got lost. Shit

Uncharted 3, the damn game has a glitch that won't let me pass the ship level

Final Fantasy 13, I played through it up to the open world part. I wasn't really a fan of the combat system to start with and got stuck on a difficult boss and just never felt like playing it again.

The original Assassin's Creed, I tried to get through this game but I just got really bored with it all the time and just stopped playing it all together.

And Metroid Prime 2, I never beat that god damned Spider Guardian.

Guilty gear - Its the fighting game I was best at. I played it to a pretty high standard but then I had exams and a whole bunch of other stiff going on in my life so I ended up taking a 2 year break from fighting games. I never got to the same skill level in any other fighter, I am nowhere near as good as I used to be.

Infamous - I loved the game but I totally forgot about it. I tried to play it again but I was just missing out on the context of the story so to get the full experience i'd have had to start a new playthrough and that was too much of a time investment for me.

Every single final fantasy game i've ever played - I'm falling asleep just thinking about it.

Tekken 6 Scenario Campaign - Why, namco? Why?

Nightmare Train wasn't that bad for me, it was the damn Yoshimitsu island level that kept screwing me over

I actually liked the Scenario Campaign as a whole, it was just the damn Demon Train that I hated. It was a nice little distraction from the main game and was the best way to earn fight money.

I grinded through the Yoshimitsu stage hella times trying to get cash.

Kingdom Hearts 2
Soul Calibur series
Marvel vs Capcom series
Tekken series
Magma Carta

I've NOT given up on MKSM, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Bloodrayne 2, and Bloodrayne: Betrayal. I just need time to not think of the strategies for them. It's been months already but I will continue sometime this year. I'm playing with games that require less thinking right now along with studying.

Fear 1 + 2 - Had both at different points, thought the 2nd one would entertain me more but it just didn't appeal =/
Fallout: New Vegas - So sad because I'm a huge Fallout fan since the first one and I loved what Bethesa did with the 3rd one but New Vegas just seemed bland =/ or maybe it was because I played Fallout 3 SO MUCH and the two games were similar.
Skyrim - just got overwhelmed by how many things there are to do and gave up lol

I forgot about RE: CVX!

**** that game, lol I couldn't bear to keep playing.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. That game was absolutely rubbish. I only owned it because my friends had it and man, it was way to frustrating to play.

Soul Calibur V: Played the game to death and I hated Siegfried in that game, he was decent but he was streamlined to the point that he was to easy to counter and fight against. In fact the whole game was streamlined. Plus the fact it also felt unfinished.

Mass Effect Series: Man, the ME3 ending just ruined any chance of me playing ME1 and ME2 over again. What I liked is the side quests in ME2 and that is pretty much it and pokemoning the characters was actually fun. It was it's own game, but ME3 ruined any chance of me playing that again. Mordin was my favorite character in the game.
