Ed Boon Interview - Angry Joe - March 30th 2015

If the remaining roster slots are as we believe (Jax, Jacqui, Sonya, Kenshi) and there's an unlockable character we don't yet know about, then the top bets are Fujin and Baraka... and that's assuming there's only one.

But hell, the hype is real. Fujin looks awesome and seems to be getting some good screen time in story mode. It's more likely than not, IMO.

Yupp. I pray its fujin. But dont want to be set up for dissapointment because if its him ill rush through story just to have him but if its not ill take my time with it.

The final DLC for MKX will also all be out by August, not before then.
If you're talking exclusively about the Kombat Pack, I don't see why you're so adamant about this. The Injustice season pass finished up in early July.

Injustice DLC releases: May 7, May 21, June 11, July 2, July 30, August 13

They're not going to do it like MK9. They've started work on the DLC character early this time around and they're gonna pump them out faster because DLC is far more important now.

If you're talking about DLC as a whole, then you're probably right. They seem to stop DLC support for their games in August to need to begin development on their next game.

Oh, and Tanya is coming out second. The order of release was listed in the Kombat Pack trailer.

Yep. The point of the Kombat Pack is that - assuming you intend to buy all the DLC - you save money (about 20/25%) and you may be able to download them before they go on sale individually.

The only character I have a genuine interest in playing regularly in Predator, so in the end I didn't bother.

What about the skins? they're only available in the Kombat Pack? For Example: If i buy Jason separately, will the Horror skins Vampiress Mileena, Kraken Reptile and Pharaoh Ermac come with him? Since the Full KP its divided in 4: The Ultimate Horror Pack (Jason) KP#1 (Tanya) Predator/Prey (Predator) KP#2 (Tremor)

Not just the Kombat Pack.

Even if the DLC is all out in July, my point still stands that it won't all be Day 1 DLC, so I don't know what you are getting at?
My point still stands that the Kombat Pack =/= early access to DLC characters.

Sure, but there's the whole factor of 3 variations, PER character, plus intro 3 intro lines versus every single character, 3 mirror match intro lines for the characters that DO speak (per Ed Boon), plus 2 fatalities, multiple Brutalities and other intricacies.
I doubt that it will be pumped out faster (as you imply), due to the amount of work that will need to be put into these characters, as opposed to MK9 DLC which didn't have 3 variations, intro lines, 2 Fatalities, multiple brutalities and all of the intricate stuff that's going into the MKX characters.

Yes, as a whole.
That said, though, if the Kombat Pack 1 sells well, then I could easily see a Kombat Pack II being made.
It's not out of the realm of impossibility.

Hence, why I was throwing out my guesses per original movie release dates.
My guesses are as follows, for DLC releases:
I never acted like those months were written in stone for the characters, just my guesses.

Some of you are going to have a coronary before this game is out.

QFT.

I can't believe how incredibly passionate people are about this universe. While I hope to play it somewhat competitively, it's still all in good fun, and I just enjoy whatever the NRS team puts out. They've already proven time and again they listen to the fans.

I feel about the same way. I have said it before, outside of my disdain for Sonya who I have thought was a boring character since her inception in the first game, they can literally make the roster whatever they want.

If the game had none of the returning characters it currently has and replaced them all with Nightwolf, Kabal, Sektor, Cyrax, Noob, Smoke, and 25 new characters, I would be completely fine with it.

It was pretty obvious that Goro is on-disc DLC. He's a pre-order bonus and pre-order bonuses are on the disc. I'm pretty sure that Goro will be in the story as a NPC opponent.

Yes it is extremely obvious that Goro is on-disc DLC but the problem is that they are going to charge people money to download him. Regardless if you get him for free by pre-ordering or not, paid on-disc DLC is never justified.

He said that? Are you sure? I don't remember that. Glad to hear you say it though. I was afraid they'd give Tanya the same generic 3 lines for every character similiar to how Reptile says 'I will tear your flesh' to just about everyone.

It's BS, but it's gonna happen in this day and age, especially on WB's watch. There's no going back. Adapt or die.

It could be much, much worse. All the DLC could be on-disc, as some companies do. NRS could have cut characters and released them as DLC. WB could have done retailer-specific pre-order DLCs. etc etc. MKX is fairly tame when it comes to DLC, especially considering the main game has more than enough content.

Agreed.

Creative Assembly get a lot of flack for their DLC model, which is essentially to cut content from the launch build, spruce it up a bit, and then re-release it as paid content. It is, IMO, a somewhat egregious business practice, but your only option is to vote with your wallet.

Assuming NRS have been honest about everything else not being on-disc (and I have no reason to assume otherwise) then I am fine with how they're doing things. At the very least Tremor and Tanya prove that they listen to their fans, which is more than some companies do. :)

One thing that could to be more productive if you could to disable certain dlc character or certain tower with dlc characters, that you dislike on game, well in mk9 pc version was posible posible if you delete certain files.
I say it cause not makes grace to me, looks to predator and jason, cause they re not from mk ´s world.

I'm fine with no stage fatalities. I remember when 2011, so many people were complaining about how crappy the Pit's stage fatality looked like all because of the organ that stayed on top of the tip of the spike.

I thought it was a nice touch to the fatality, but I guess since you can't please everyone, it's gotta bother some.

I would prefer they had stage fatalities. Its not a deal breaker by any means, but they are a series staple and there is no reason why they couldn't have seen the same level of improvement as the rest of the game.

I also agree with those who thought that the organ on the spike was lame. Sometimes details like that can take it from brutal to corny. The organ was overdoing it. That is not to say it couldn't have been done well with organs, but the way they did it was super cheesy.

Now is where I admit I am at a loss for how to articulate the way I see it in my mind.
