E3 2010 Day 1: Mortal Kombat Unveiled

Aha! I finally stumbled upon a picture of Mr. Hasashi:

After seeing the pictures a second time, I'm going to now sit in the corner of the forum and cry because of my brother bought a wii instead of another console...

They look really similar to the MKvsDCU costumes. But Scorpion has swords now!

Angel, sell everything you have! You must get this game!

I like the storyline idea and how it doesn't ignore the old series but still reboots it. Well thought out!

damn....thats all players care about is fatalities and gimmicks.....no wonder y mk hasnt seen a major tournament entry....

^ I agree. I had few positive things to say about everything after UMK3. Game-play became sluggish, slow, and MK fans started feverishly consuming quantity instead of asking for quality. I'd rather have a 12-fighter roster with fast-paced and well-balanced gameplay than 36 fighters quickly thrown together with preset combos and the kreat-a-krap that gets in the way.

I think most mk fans whud agree with u tho but theres no denying the fatalities was and has always been a HUGE part of MK success....

MKII and 3 were pretty unbalanced.

I didn't say MK2 & 3 were balanced. I agree with you there. And yes, fatalities are a HUGE part of MK. Wouldn't be MK without them. But character creation in a competitive fighting game (if that's what they're going for) usually creates HUGE imbalances, and a lack of appreciation for the characters that were created for the game (in my opinion).

Then there is Konquest mode which, to me, isn't what I want in a fighting game. If I want an RPG or action game, that's what I'll buy. That's not to say it isn't worth trying to create other modes, but that one just didn't cut it for me. Funny enough, I enjoyed puzzle kombat with my friends.

Looking forward to Co-op Arcade Mode and Story Mode. I love the character select screen (my most favorite thing about a fighting game). Hoping for Raiden and Kabal and maybe Liu Kang.

What do you mean hoping for Raiden!? Your avatar is Raiden in MK9.
