DLC - NRS getting lazy with quality/details?

^ To be honest, for one of the posts, it won't work; I said "ignorant-ass comments like this", so since I insulted the person I was responding to(even though the person that neg repped isn't even the person I was responding to and he insulted me more than once). Like Jade said, though, it's just colored boxes on a game forum, and I have no desire to enlarge my e-peen, so I don't really care what that person thinks of me; he'll just be on my ignore list from now on. :wink:


Anyways, I don't even like Skarlet's alt, so it doesn't really phase me. A lot of others do though, and all of the other characters sans Cyber Sub-Zero have one, so she does need it. Especially since her not getting one could mean that Kenshi, Rain, and the unannounced DLC character may not get one, either.
 
I don't think it's a matter of laziness, but rather a priority on improving the top issues first then moving on to the graphics and animation issues.
As far as certain characters not having alt costumes, I feel that is part of something else, perhaps future DLC outside of the 4 they have announced.

If Reiko makes his way to this game as DLC, then I don't care whether he has an alt or not.

It's freaking Reiko. I'll be too busy wrecking everyone's stuff with one of the most boss MK fighters ever.

I co-sign! Just reveal the 4th character already! lol. Reiko would probably be a "palette swap" of Shao Khan without the super armor during specials...i'd like to see an original character, or a classic chararcter reworked like HOTARU from the Orderrealm! Please no more guest characters

NRS isn't lazy, just working on more important issues 1st. we'll get alternate costumes and possibly even more characters later on down the line
 
If the Kenshi DLC requires a compatibility pack to play with him, I won't be buying him. Its bad enough that the desync errors are still common when you play online. I still can't play with Skarlet most of the time. I wouldn't be shocked if the Kenshi DLC makes things worse.

I stand corrected in reference to the "Nekropolis" point. Skarlet's bio and model are available (as are the ability to view characters in their klassic kostumes (Scorpion, Jade, Sub-Zero, et cetera), but her ending is not. I may be slow on the uptake, so if this was common knowledge, I apologize:

Access the Nekropolis.

Pick any character.

Access chosen character's bio.

Once the model appears, press Start.

Choose "Player Select"

On the roster screen, choose who you want and which costume (including alternate color).

You'll be brought to the "Nekropolis" and be able to toggle the chosen character's damage and bio.

they already charged for costumes that were already on the disc. you guys are just now questioning their morality? lol

I think the reason a lot of people are complaining about the little things is because they spen $5 on it. I mean, every character in MK9 isn't worth $5, if so the game would be expensive. If we are going to spend more money then we should on one character we better get a complete character, whether it's a voice, and alternate costume, or a spot in the Nekropolis. Is that too much to ask?
 
I appreciate the extra content for a quality game, Kenshi was my fav/2nd fav along w/Ermac. Do I care about an alt costume? No for one, 95% of the time I'm playing with my fav costume and just alternating color anyway. Kenshi's primary looks good so I'd likely be rockin it whether I had a choice or not.

But yea it IS a valid issue but most certainly a relatively "meh" one at most. I couldn't honestly give a damn, I love this game.
 
I can only understand the DLC possible lack of voice, and the no "ending view"/alt costume. But you can look at DLC characters Biographies, and you can look at DLC characters stats in the web, which is better than nothing, remind you.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but without an alternate outfit, you CAN'T change to the Player 2 coloring of something if you can't bring up the outfit select to begin with. I've tried, and cannot get the P2 CSZ, as I prefer that one so much more than the default. So without an alternate, you're pretty much stuck with the one color.
 
Actually, there IS a way to select P2 colors for CSZ and Skarlet. Just pick any char, hit start, start, then back out of that selection and pick CSZ/Skarlet with start. This essentially selects their P2 color. Granteddoing this onine breaks it but still.

And for the record, I DO feel a little ripped off at the 5 dollar price point. Look Im aware we get a character, new models, animations etc. But frankly, if you ARN'T gonna give us Nekropolis support and an alternate costume (which we KNOW exists) then don't try to pass off us paying 5 bucks for a FULL new character, because we aren't. Skarlet not having phrases is fine by me, fits her character but Kenshi SHOULD have some speech, and I'm hoping they just decided to not have any in the trailer.

Also, for comparison (like always) Yun+Yang in the new SSFIV: AE have alternate costumes. Donno if they come with AE or not, but they do exist.

There's always gonna be minor bugs. Visually are they annoying? Sometimes, but nothing too crazy where it takes away from the game.

I totally agree here. These are all minor problems that i dont really care about.
 
meh, I don't care - the DLC characters come out when they say so and aren't expensive. $5 is not a big deal, if you truely like the game/character.

I'll get all the characters, the alts aren't a big deal. I can deal with the BS online since I play with friends offline, love this game.
 
The point isnt OMFG 5 BUCKS! IM POOR NOW, the point is...say Sub-Zero and Skarlet were 5 bucks a piece in the marketplace right now. Sub-Zero is EXACTLY like he is ingame right now, has alternate costume, and nekropolis spot. Skarlet doesn't have either.

You think they are worth the same value?

I think the necropolis slots will open up once the ???? Character comes out.

I can care less about alt costumes right now, all those things can be added in time. A costume is more ideal to be a free DLC than a character :) never know these days

5$ for Pre-Order Exclusives. Yeah they are so bad, NRS are so cruel, they gave us something that was pre-order only when they didn't have to, DAMN YOUR NRS HOW UNFAIR! If it wasn't on disc people wouldn't argue this same old argument^ Uh duh pre-order costumes are on disc, why wouldn't they be?
