Dishonored: All Things Dishonored related

kadell, I greatly appreciate the help and the link, but I found it on Amazon for 20% cheaper, so I went that route.
Again, I really appreciate the help. ;) :top:
I got the Collector's Edition on PS4 with 1 of my cousin's Amazon Prime accounts.
Saved 20% off too.
That Corvo mask and Empress Emily ring will go nicely next to my PS4. :)

Also, 1 of the cooler features that Harvey Smith has mentioned about Dishonored 2:

So, you can choose to play the whole game in Flesh and Steel (no powers) Mode.
I think it's actually called Flesh and Steel.

Looks like that Platinum is gonna be a major challenge. I'm definitely doing this with my second playthrough. And thankfully, the combat in this game is improved and its way better than THIEF's combat.

I'll do Flesh and Steel mode on my 4th or 5th playthrough, once I get a good feel for the guard patrol patterns or general locations.
Perhaps now that I have a "Share" button on PS4, if I get good enough with Flesh and Steel Mode I can share some of the vids here.
Boss fights are going to be interesting in Flesh and Steel Mode.
When I fought against Daud doing a Flesh and Steel run, on PS3 on Hard, he whopped the living sh!t outta me.

As for Thief 2014, I didn't care too much for it and feeling a bit defenseless is probably why I didn't care for it as much.
I know that the whole purpose was to be a Thief, but if you got caught it was all over.
The lethal and non-lethal combat in Dishonored 2 makes me happy.
I love that they have brought back stun mines, added combat choke and added more steal options to certain powers like Mesmerize and Shadow Walk.

Side note:
Of course, Dishonored 2 can't be announced without ignorant tards on IGN claiming that Emily is in "because PC."
Nevermind that Corvo is still playable and 1 of 2 selectable characters, and that Dishonored 2 essentially picks up from where the Dishonored ending and and The Brigmore Witches ending left off (Dishonored 2 trailer).
No, let's continue to willfully be ignorant.

I kinda got an "Oh no" feeling when I saw one of the guards suddenly stop and jumped up a railing instead of following the street! NOTHING IS TRUTH ANYMORE! EVERYTHING IS A LIE! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO COMPETE WITH THIS?!?!

I know.
I kinda like the unpredictability, at the same time though, because it means that now I'll be more on my toes.
There is also an option in the settings to make the soldiers be able to look more vertically, as well as being spotted if you lean out of a corner for too long.
All options that I look forward to. ;)

"Creative director Harvey Smith just confirmed to us in an interview that the character in the trailer is in fact Delilah. He didn't specify whether she was returning as a villain, though her presence in the gameplay trailer suggests it."

Low Chaos overall endings (Dishonored & DLC) as canon, then.
Sweet!!!
I'm glad to see that my suspicion of that being Delilah was right.
It's good to see Delilah return, and she looks even more powerful now.
She took that sword out from her (in the trailer) as if nothing happened.

http://www.onlysp.com/dishonored-2-to-last-players-around-12-20-hours/

12 to 20 hours.

Good.
So, the gameplay is almost twice as long as the first game.

I disagree with this part, though.

"Another interesting fact about Dishonored 2 is that the game isn’t open world. The first game wasn’t either, but when I was at the Bethesda E3 2016 conference and they were showing off the video going into heavy detail about all the game’s environments, you could have easily mistaken it for an open world game."

How is this a surprise?
Nothing about that gameplay or the environment trailer lead me to believe that it was going to ever be open-world, and Harvey Smith also said various times in interviews that it wasn't going to be open-world.
He said that it was going to be like the first Dishonored, in terms of the world: a section with various areas within each and multiple ways to complete the missions.
This sounds more like the writer falling into the fad / hope of "open-world" everything syndrome, then being disappointed when his unlikely hope is not met.

Along with my pre-ordered Collector's Edition of Dishonored 2, I'll likely be picking this up, as well. ;)

Art Contest huh? I might have to check that out.

A little bit of info on Bone Charm crafting in Dishonored 2...

Dishonored 2’s Harvey Smith revealed the details of Bone Charm crafting in the upcoming game. Smith said that the Bone Charm effects are procedurally generated, and there are 400,000 of them in the game. Additionally, combining Bone Charm effects is possible in the upcoming Bethesda title.

Previously, it’s been confirmed that Corvo and Emily will have different playstyles in Dishonored 2, so Bone Charm effects may vary according to their skills and abilities. In the previous game, Bone Charms were equippable and interchangeable upgrades for improving the character’s innate stats or existing abilities to fit the player’s playstyle. With the procedurally generated 400,000 Bone Charm effects, the players may be over-equipped in attaining the game’s different endings.

Smith told Metro in an interview that players will have four trait slots that’ll allow them to synergize and mix effects of Bone Charms, so they should be handy regardless of the ending you want to have. However, Smith didn’t discuss the materials needed to craft these charms in the game.

Dishonored 2 will also have some mandatory reading before Dishonored 2 comes out.
It looks like I'll also have to get this 4-part comic series and novel before the game comes out.

"Dishonored 2 – Novels and Comics Revealed

Dishonored fans will soon be able to see the Empire of the Isles in a completely new way. Coming this August, the first official tie-in comic from Titan Comics takes readers back to the city of Dunwall. Set 12 years after the events of the first game, the four-part series will follow the supernatural assassin Corvo Attano as he searches for an apprentice and confronts faces from his past. The miniseries will be written by Gordon Rennie (White Trash and 2000 AD), with art from Andrea Olimpieri and Marcelo Maiolo (Batman Beyond and Old Man Logan). Issues release dates are as follows:

Issue #1 – August 3, 2016

Issue #2 – September 7, 2016

Issue #3 – September 28, 2016

Issue #4 – October 19, 2016

Graphic Novel Collection – November 29, 2016

Also coming this year is the first in a three-part novel series, written by Adam Christopher (The Burning Dark, LA Trilogy and The Shield for Dark Circle Comics) and published by Titan Books. Dishonored – The Corroded Man will be available this September, and bridges the gap between the first and second game. The second and third books are scheduled for 2017 and will continue the stories of Corvo and Emily Kaldwin."

Eh...idk how I feel about them making a tie-in comic and novel series. The Novels are ok, though I wish they took the route other companies did and not have the main protagonist(s) be a major part of the novels. But we already know the spoilers for the comic books seeing how the only assassins you get to play as are Corvo and Emily. Even if they give his apprentice the Ben Solo treatment, it would already be predictable so I'm gonna have to skip that. Personally, I wish the second and third books would've just been Expansions for Dishonored 2 instead.

One more thing, either my math is off or the first book doesn't feature Corvo and Emily as the protagonist. But if the comic book takes place 12 years after Dishonored and the Novel bridges the gap between Dishonored and Dishonored 2, which is a 25 year gap, doesn't that mean the story from the comic book will be in the first Novel as well?

The novels are part of a 3-part series.
1 novel comes out in September 2016 and the other 2 novels come out in 2017.
The 1st novel is said to tie in the events between Dishonored and Dishonored 2, the 15-year gap, so I'm guessing that the other 2 novels will cover the time after Dishonored 2 (expanding on it).

The gap between Dishonored and Dishonored 2 is 15 years, not 25 years.
Emily was 10 years old in Dishonored and she's 25 years old in Dishonored 2.
The gap being filled in the comics is supposedly year 12 of those 15 years in between, if that makes more sense.
I guess that some stuff may overlap, or perhaps the stuff in the comics are just another side story?
I have no real way of finding out until I get my hands on the first issue, on August 3rd.

Ah, ok. And idk why I keep confusing 15 years with 25.

For anyone interested in getting the physical copies of the Dishonored comics, check with your comic store to see if that comic book cover that you want is available.

The comic book store near me had cover A and B available, but not cover C and D.

Given that QuakeCon starts today, there's deals on ID and Bethesda games.

1 of them being the Dishonored Definitive Edition. It's 40% off at $11.99.

I checked on the PSN store and it's confirmed at the $11.99 price, for anyone who's interested in playing the first game (and hasn't yet or wants to play it again on current-gen) before part 2 comes out. ;)

When Facebook articles are telling you to not skip out on the DLC because of ONE character in Dishonored 2 is returning.

Spoiler:
Delilah Copperspoon from the Brigmore Witches

I'm just like, "Who hasn't played them yet"? Besides those who never bought the DLC. Any Dishonored fan would have played it already and know this information. Oh it's going to be a lovely couple of months before the game's release. I can already tell you that.

And I will say that the comic was a brilliant read. Interesting ending for it too. Can't wait for the next one to come out next month!
