Did IMDB just leak the roster?

What boggles my mind is that Kabal is listed in the kast. Isn't he dead? Kharacters that are WAY more popular than he died in MK9 as well, so if NRS does bring Kabal back for MKX's roster and not Kung Lao, Kitana, Jade, SAmoke, etc. etc. then NRS/WB will have a lot of explaining to do.

It would be an insult if they were DLC, the cash-in DLC crap is getting ridiculous. The iconic characters of the franchise need to be in the game.

I sacrificed a goat to the Netherrealm gods and now Kabal is in the game.
 
Okay, so, a few things: Everybody's jumping to a LOT of conclusions here. The people most likely to be on this list are actors who worked on this game who listed the credits themselves before they were supposed to. So, that would mean that it's not the whole roster, and that not all these characters are necessarily playable (or fightable). There are almost certainly lines of dialogue spoken by non-playable characters.

To that point, there are a lot of people referencing the cast list having dead characters in it. To assume we won't see any of the dead kombatants at all is frankly unfounded. Quan Chi is confirmed, and kicks it with dead people all day long. Like, dude has personal ownership of the dead souls of almost every good guy from the first game. Why would anybody be surprised that they at least showed up!?

I'm surprised more peeps aren't talking about the wholly new character listed. Something like Hotwire? Assuming these listings are true, I'm pretty stoked to see what that dude's about.
 
If this list is true,

-then i feel some type of way about Jason Voorhees being in the game. I know he was voted among the top 5 but its such a predictable character to have after the last game had Freddy

-The new character Hotwire caught my attention. Curious as to what he is about

-Sonya Blade, I hope she is in the game for cinematic purposes instead of gameplay

-Taven? Liked him better than Daegon but still on the fence with...more so on the No Thank You side

But like i said IF this list hold any truth these are just my concerns/opinions
 
Explain where NRS came up with a character named "Hotwire"...

Concrete proof that this list is fake. If I wanted to, I could put "Charles Manson" as the voice of a character named "Mike Hawk", and it would show up there like that.

Yeah, agreed people are jumping to conclusions (myself included).
Agreed that not all characters listed (if true), may be playable.
Shao Kahn, Kintaro and Goro weren't playable in MK9 (aside from modding), so that's also possible.

I don't see how assuming that none of the dead characters will be playable is unfounded.
Thus far none of the characters who died in MK9 have been confirmed, and the main roster slots to seem to be confined to 24.
Boon said that MKX would have more new characters than MKX (11+), then said in another interview that MKX has "30-something characters" (his exact words).
That math would imply 11+ new characters, another possible 12 returning and another possible 6 as DLC.
When you factor that in, 14 MK9 dead characters being playable seems very unlikely.
I do, however, agree with you that lots of them may be cameos or make appearances, though.

As for this new character and Ed Boons Tweet, how do we know that Ed Boon didn't just get a good deal on plane tickets on Hotwire?
Why does everyone automatically assume that everything that Ed Tweets is MK-related?
Does anyone know how easy it is to add something to IMDB?
It takes a few more steps than Wikipedia, but it's doable.

Not to piss on anyone's parade but..

HotWire sounds very phoney to me as well as Jason Voorhees. All of this is most likely false information definitely including the Taven report.

I admit, I couldn't help but get excited when I saw one of my favorites posted on there. But I'm sure that was the purpose of whoever posted that. So lets put things in perspective and take everything with a grain of salt until Boon and co. actually announce something.

The only one worth speculation is Mileena considering the voice actor's recent tweet. All the other new names have no source to back it up. But its not impossible that one of these could be true, which I'm sure would be coincidental.

I believe [MENTION=4889]BBBLP[/MENTION] added Taven on IMDB. I seriously doubt Taven will be in the game regardless.

At anyrate, I think this recent IMDB thing is a result of Netherrealm starving us fans of news. If nothing new is announced this month, I'm setting my sights on the next live stream in December. Fingers crossed.

A character will be shown in the credits even if they have a cameo appearance with no speaking lines.

Heard that from my boyfriend who's an actor, same applies to animation stuff.

Do I believe such list? It's IMDB, it's not a credible source site to go off of. So no.
 
People seem way to eager to belive IMDB with doesn't even use sources.
If somebody put Zack Morris as a character some of you would probably buy it.
 
Hotwire is from Transformers. Go figure...

I doubt MKX would introduce a new cyborg instead of finishing off Cyrax/Sektor first.
 
I can't repeat myself enough when saying that people should only trust the official confirmations and not look to other sources for information, because they are so easily tampered with.
 
Besides I doubt Jason will be in the game since they just did Freddy in MK9. It would be another repeat and Ed Boon said no to repeats.

No they don't. Sometimes it's better to save other characters for sequels. When Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, Sonya, Jax and Kitana died in MKDA, no one cared about them not coming back in MKD. Liu Kang was the only one who died in MKDA that came out in MKD and I can see a similar thing happening in MKX.
 
Those four are the main faces of MK. They are going to get a free pass no matter. Not to mention Scorpion is the series mascot much like how Nightmare is to Soul Calibur. Raiden is a important part of the series and has became the main character of the franchise since MKvsDC.

IIRC, Raiden had started having more major roles in MK games during the time of MK4 and onwards.
Especially explaining how he was responsible for imprisoning Shinnok and recruiting Kai and Fujin to align with the Forces Of Light, to stop Quan Chi and Shinnok (old timeline).
Then the whole thing with resurrecting Liu Kang as a zombie, trying to stop the Dragon King with a huge electrical blast and later becoming Dark Raiden has also continued to cement Raiden as more of a main stay character, as far as story was concerned.
 
I know Radien has major roles during the time of MK4 and onwards but Liu Kang is still the main hero of MK4. Raiden has been the main hero in MKDA then has became the main character of the story since MKVSDCU. He was the main hero of the story in MKvsDCU and MK9. It won't surprise me if he is the main hero of the game in MKX.
