Complete analysis of the story trailer

Could the fatalities they showed in the trailer actually be part of the story? Takeda killing Torr, Kung Jin killing Reptile. I hope not because I want Torr to live.

I doubt it. Especially because Reptile is later seen in Earthrealm in the bit that seems like near the end of the story.
 
I am SO glad to see Kuai Liang being in the game, and being unmasked! Definately the Sub-Zero version I'm going to use, because the masked main costume is just so gosh darn ugly, imo!

There's one thing that's been bothering me though. ALL the "aged" returning male characters, such as Scorpion, Kuai Liang and Kung Lao... They all have beards! It's like NRS went "Oh, you've grown old, so you MUST have a beard now!!!" ... Really? I wish Kuai Liang was cleanshaven.

Also, those metallic whips or ropes or whatever they're called that Takeda wields reminds me alot of Omega Red.

This blood story is really connected to Quan Chi/Shinnok.

By looking at the screenshots, it's very likely the protagonists are fighting on the temple after the red cloud took the whole sky.

and they are fighting against Quan Chi's revenants.

Remembering that Quan Chi has all interest in the world on that Amulet.

I just can't figure what's his true connection with the "blood demon".

Why don't you like Subbie's main? Is the best outfit he ever had IMO, and that unmasked alt is crap IMO again lol.
 
I liked Sub-Zero's new beard. And I love the MK3 style :laugh:

And Kung Jin...he is really Kung Lao's cousin. I can see on his face traces of Kung Lao's attitude :laugh:

And Cassie is rocking. And lots of Jacqui to Jacqui haters :ridinghorse:

First of all, it has that palette-swap feel to it. Also, I think it looks like a life jacket or one of those ugly puffy vests.

His mask looks really ugly as well, with the glowing stick figure thingy at the snout, and there's so much going on at the belt area that looks ridiculously superfluous, imo.

I much prefer the Kuai Liang alt. But hey, you take the main, I'll take the alt then. Everyone is happy. ;)
 
His alt needs more detail and textures, it's like too damn simple, same applies to Scorpion's human outfit.

Anyway I love his main so there's no reason to panic lol.

I still think his alt is going to use a mask, just like in the comic and because of the unbreakable variation.

It's simplicity is why I prefer them lol.
 
I'll join the Jacqui bandwagon. It took a two minute trailer for me to think she is more interesting then her father ever was.
 
I'm sad. Reiko clearly didn't make it in.

Mileena looks awesome. Kung Jin looks at least unique. So far not seeing anything interesting about Takeda or Jacqui.
 
There's nothing about Jacqui that interests me. But that's alright. Other than her and Ferra/Torr, I really like the new characters. But those 2½ characters just don't do it for me.

Now that you mention it Sub-Zero's main is really ugly.
 
Plus, i liked Mileena's design except for her hair. They messed with it again haha. In the comics it looked OK. But she really looked mad, as Kotal Kahn calls her.

Of course, I speak only from what we've seen so far. Which is appearance and a bit of behaviour from those characters (and some gameplay from Ferra/Torr). And so far, I don't like what I've seen from them. I find both very uninteresting.
