That's not the end of the game, that's the end of the Netherrealm War. You probably fight Shinnok as Johnny Cage, and Raiden comes in to deliver the imprisoning blow.

Damn it, there are too many things in the story so I can't figure out anything(which is pretty good). Outworld war, the amulet, Blood Demon, Brotherhood of Shadow etc. This is going to be a pretty lengthy story :D
 
Rain's outfit is 100% new. I don't get where people are seeing his Armageddon look in it. Not even his alternate in MKA is remotely similar to that. The purple V-cloth is completely absent there, they are very thin with golden details on them. His chest is like nothing we've ever seen before. You can tell Sindel is very MK9-ish, mostly her primary with a few touches of her alternate here and there, but Rain is most definitely, without a doubt, wearing a new costume.

I am actually not expecting him to be playable, but that amount of detail in a single costume should be used for DLC!

Other thoughts: I hope that's Kuai Liang. Takeda is not as cool looking as I'd thought, looks A LOT like Liu ang.

Scorpion looks like your normal Caucasian dude LOL Really, I'm not even going to keep that discussion.

Love Shinnok's costume! And Mileena, wow, I actually like Mileena here, am I sick? :P
I ADORE Kung Jin look. Very cool!

Overall, I want more!!!
 
I'm still a PS3 player... You know, I fear for what this game may look like on past gen. If it looks like MK9/Injustice it'll be fine by me, but things usually have a turn for the nasty when a new console generation is around and they have to make a past-gen version too. Take WWE 2k15, for instance. That story looks too cool to be destroyed by lazy work on a past-gen version.

And now Rain really looks like a Prince. I'm glad they took his MKAR costume and updated it, he looks awesome in that purple and gold fashion.
Mileena looks promising. She evolved from a joke into a very serious character.
WHERE IS REIKO?? THERE IS MILEENA BUT NO REIKO? WTF NRS??!
And what else can i say. I liked the new heroes, with cassie on the lead. I hope some of them survive the mighty attack of Ed "R.R. Martin" Boon at the end of the day hehe!
 
Johnny Cage defeats Shinnok in the Netherrealm War. Raiden imprisons him in his amulet.

25 years after MK9:
For some unknown purpose, Cassie and her team seek out Sub-Zero. He knows them by name. Sub-Zero mentions that they are not ready because they lack cooperation ("you lead, but they do not follow"). Part of their arcs will be learning to work together. Apparently, Cassie fights Sub-Zero to prove her worth.

Later, Cassie and her team arrive at the Spec Ops base and learn from Li Mei that Mileena has the amulet and is causing Kotal to become desperate. How did Mileena obtain the amulet, I wonder? Raiden seems to be advising the young spec ops team.

They go to Outworld and are escorted to see the emperor by Erron. Cassie claims Kano spilled Kotal's secrets to Mileena. Cassie also tells Kotal about Mileena and the amulet. Kotal questions Kano about Mileena's location while riding in his wagon.

Mileena ambushes Kotal on the streets. Rain helps her during the fight.

At some point in Outworld, Takeda, Jacqui and Cassie are captured and thrown into the brig at the Kove. Some shaolin monks are also escorted into the brig, but it's not known if this is a separate occurrence. Someone who appears to be in disguise probably gets them out (Kung Jin is the only one not shown captured). They escape and plan to attack their guards, Ermac and Reptile.

Later on, back on Earth, the team sees an unknown entity erupt from the shaolin temple. It soon envelops the region in a blood red cloud. Kotal's army arrives there as well and surround Cassie's forces. A revenant Sindel and Kitana guard the shaolin temple. I believe Liu Kang is involved here.

Also Jacqui's arm weapons look like flamethrowers (bye bye Sucktor jk jk) but this means he will probably have less chance 2 be playable.
I'd say Cyrax has more chance tbh, also I'm positive Shinnok will be playable!! Check his outfit its not a wedding dress anymore
 
i'm pretty sure that In 1 of Mileena's variations she won't use the mask. Can't wait too see her variations / moves.
 
After watching the trailer, here are my thoughts on who is confirmed and who Is semi-confirmed. I repeat MY thoughts:

-Jacqui, Takeda, and Kung Jin are officially confirmed.

-Looking at Jacqui and remembering that image that people claimed was Jax, I'm putting Jax on the unconfirmed train because she looks very similar to the Jax image (in face, hair, and arms).

-Shinnok might be a boss character, at the same time that could be the beginning cinematic. Also, I believe Shinnok has the real amulet this time (so no Quan Chi betrayal scene, or more like a reverse betrayal)

-Johnny and Sonya are semi-confirmed. They look like they could be playable, but they are absent to so much of the later potion of the story. Plus I still believe the Shinnok scene is Raiden Fight or that the scene was an opening cinematic.

-The fight against the dead characters occurs sometime in the 20-25 year mark seeing that The Cassie crew were fighting against revenant characters.

-It's pretty much confirmed that Subzero is indeed Bi Han as the revenants still haven't been defeated yet (unless this scene is somewhere past the Shaolin temple fight scene).

-Mileena is pretty much confirmed. More heavily than the Cages.

-Rain is a cameo. Also officially confirmed to be alive in the comics after seeing this.

-The Mystery woman might be Li Mei as a cameo, or a brand new character. I remember Subz saying some female character's name.

-The big bad has to be Daegon or Quan Chi. A) The revenant fight happens during that red mist at the Shaolin temple (Quan Chi). B) The Red smoke could be from the Red Dragon (Daegon).

-Erron Black is pretty much confirmed.


Also, Boon tweeted something about 5 characters confirmed playable. Which means either both of the cages and the mystery woman are out, or Mileena will be out and one of the cages are in. I would rework my post after seeing this information, but I'm just gonna leave it all in anyway.

It was officially confirmed that he was alive by the guy in charge of the comic the same day it was released.

I think he's just a cameo but I hope he's playable and I'm dissapointed that Reiko didn't make an appearance.
 
Now I think the Shaolin Temple blood cloud explosion thingy happens somewhere in the middle of the story, that would explain why Kotal's forces have all those monks as prisoners ALONG with Cassie & Friends.

If I'm right, then I make one hell of an investigator.
