Batman: Arkham Origins announced

Yep, a lot of people badmouthed the game before it was even done because of the change, but, fully agree, excellent first attempt, they kept the meat of the game mostly the same, it is an awesome formula, no need to go messing around with it. I haven't played TLOU yet, but, I love this game more than I could ever love a GTA game, and I enjoy GTA games a lot, I have every GTA game except London and Chinatown Wars, but, of course, Batman will forever be my first love in general (RE second love <3), and I am so far not the least bit disappointed. I actually had to pull myself away from it about two hours ago because I knew I would be up all night if I continued and I have to work tomorrow <.< I ended up starting it yesterday mid afternoon and didn't stop until 5am. I didn't even realize the time at all, the game was so damn interesting.

this game didn't need online in it. just a waste of memory. the single player is almost perfect, except for one thing (hope this isn't spoiling anything), why cant batman swim??

I want to talk about the story but sooo many spoilers :(

I can't decide what my favorite assassin battle was.... Deathstroke or Bane.... Why are they so godlike!

The reviews are by people who stroke to CoD and the like, there is nothing really wrong with this game at all, it's fun and interesting. These reviewers whine about it being like the other two games, yet, they constantly give CoD near perfect scores. Take what they say with a grain of salt, especially if you are a Batman fan. Not saying you should take my word for it and go out right away to buy it, it is totally up to you, just saying, it's a lot better than what people have been saying. The lowest score I have seen is 6/10, which is absolutely ridiculous. This game is HEAPS better than a 6. The only thing I really don't like about it is a possible spoiler, so, I wont say it outside the box (has to do with a villain):

Spoiler:
Honestly sick and tired of the Joker being a main focal point in these games, it's just so overdone at this point. His popularity is out of control, would have been nice to have a different character hop in the main spotlight....

^ People know he is in the game, but, not sure if they know to what extent, so, just putting in spoiler tags just in case.

Spoiler:
I know Black mask was an interesting choice to take the lead but it turning out to be Joker in a black mask was kinda funny, but at the same time it was also like "here we go again".

I like Troy Baker's joker quite a bit. As for the joker himself I think he needs to be moved to the back of the top villains list and someone new should be put there. Relying him when there is about 75 years of history to go off of is kinda ridiculous. I think we all can agree that Mr. Freeze in Ac proved that the joker isn't the only one that's able to play off batman and have their fights be great. I also wanna see more then the same villains over and over. the Mad hatter was a miss for me, his spot should have gone to another Assassin.
Spoiler:
In the court of owls, it explains Batman's first detective case and it was trying to find out if the Owls Court was responsible for killing his parents. It goes on to explain how it consumed his every moment and how in the end he failed because he got to emotionally invested and didn't look over every tiny piece of evidence.

That in of it's self could make for a great standalone game. Having it start in his "origin story" would have been a awesome way to set up the next Arkham Game while allowing WB to introduce more Bat-family Robin and Batgirl. Staying with the Joker as a main antagonist is in my opinion limiting the games in scope an after a while it will limit the story as well.

Holy shit, some reviews butchered this game. Didn't expect that.

I only own Arkham City (got it as a gift for Christmas from my bro) and the presentation, story, graphics, and environment of the game were spectacular, but I just couldn't get into the gameplay. Haven't even finished it yet, lol.

Yeah, I'm not feeling MP either. It's playable but....meh. I like the character customization, though. Robin's costumes looks pretty dope as well. Now, let's get Batgirl up in there :)

So glad you mentioned Mr. Freeze, Ames, I was never a huge fan of his, but, wow, he was AWESOME in AC, I really took a liking to him. I think they did his character so right, he made me think of how I would picture Freeze in the Nolan universe. It can be hard to make some Batman characters less cartoony, but, that version of Freeze, imo, would have been pretty awesome for a movie.

I am biased and would love for the Riddler to be a main villain, but, it will never happen </3 So glad he was in all 3 games, even though we just got a voice in AA. Good enough for me, even <3

At first, I didn't really get the Deathstroke fight, I just wanted to beat him down, so, I didn't give myself a chance to figure out his pattern, lol. It took me a few tries and then I finally though of doing a lot of flipping over him while getting some punches in and following the counter sequence. He was fun to fight, but, Bane's fight is probably my favorite one so far.

I'm disappointed deathstroke didn't have a bigger part in the game. He's my favorite and I thought he was going to :( glad they finally made boss battles fun andcool to watch though.

Deathstroke being teased all over magazine covers YouTube videos and commercials only to have a 5 min role :( but he was still boss for those 5 min :proud:

I've decided that reviews no longer matter. Lowest I've seen is a 3.5 from Destructoid. I'm getting this game regardless. I only plan on playing the SP. Did the MP beta and thought it was horrible.

The single player story mode is perfection; honestly, I didn't want to see any changes to what I loved about this game and they delivered. I was even satisfied with the new voice actors! I finished the game in roughly 8 hrs and 100% the game in 12 and now i'm on my "plus" run through.

one of my favorite boss fights is the Killer Croc fight. I like Croc, Man-Bat should be in the game. petition time lol

Also while exploring the Cave I read Batmans corkbord with all the newspaper clipping on it and the Red Hood (An it's not Jokers Red Hood either?) is featured quite a bit. Come on WB DLC.

Just completed this game(still have to do a few side quests). All I have to say is WOW. This game was epic. Better than AC, IMO.

Favorite boss fights were Firefly and Bane.

No deathstroke? Seriously has to be close to Bane #1.

Glove charge makes my body tingle when it's activated... Full charge = shit just got real!

Deathstroke is definitely a close 3rd. Firefly just felt more epic to me. The build up is what made it better.

"Copperhead" wasn't bad either. I think they could've done more with it though.

Also..

Spoiler:
The Joker sequence with Harley was one of my favorite moments in the series. That scene really helped me understand the significance of the Batman/Joker relationship.
