Not saying that we contributed much to the thread, either, by arguing with him, but we were only calling him out on his actions, not attacking his opinions in retaliation. Anyways, let's not throw salt on fresh wounds. The topic for this thread is Freddy, not p53. And what I want to speculate on in his ladder ending. Could it reference Jason in any way?

It shows Freddy killing Khan and a sleeping MK fan wakes up and says "Thank god, it was just a bad dream."

I think that's possible, at least, since we know he's coming.

You know, Freddy and Kratos both have decent storylines as to why there are here, what would Jason be able to have?

I know Ashley goes through a portal, so he has at least a decent way to have been teleported via Necromonicon.
 
Having Freddy as a guest character is okay but as a recurring character?! That's when I put my foot down. Bad idea Ed, BAD!

I like to see how he plays first, and I hope he is NOT a S tier character. Would suck if I get my ass kicked by Fred, if I don't know his combo starters and mix ups.

I guess he will be S tier, or at least A.
Like someone said, they make the DLCs top tier so people buy them.
 
Maybe when he gets dragged to Hell, in that one movie, it ends up being the Nettherealm, and he meets Scorpion down thier and they both fight Quan Chi only for QC to take control of Jason, and Jason ends up fighting Scorpion. Honestly, I'm really hoping Jason's story references FVJ in SOME way..

OR...

After the events of FVJ, Jason gets captured by Quan Chi who uses him as his protector but only after increasing his speed and strength. Jason's mother reminds him who he truly is and so he breaks free and goes on a rampage through Outworld, trying to find the one who dared to try and control him:Quan Chi.

I don't know who said he'd be a recurring character. All I know is that the DLC discussions involved decisions on "a returning character [Rain and/or Kenshi], a new character [Skarlet], but also a guest character [Freddy]". That was mentioned in the PlayStation Blog interview with Boon.
 
Has anyone heard if this is the end of DLC or not? Im not entirely excited that Freddy was the 4th DLC (Although if it wasnt "Freddy" but some guy with claws and a hat and crap, would people be less pissed?) but Im hoping still for Tanya/Tremor and curious if anything was mentioned about the future.

Jason was rumored at the same time as Freddy, so we are more than likely getting him as well.

man if they made jason and was done with him but waited til Halloween, and said oh we are done with DLC, then in October SURPRISE we made Jason but we aren't making anyone else...i could see things get ugly lol

I'm sure they wouldn't just release Jason during the fall. I'm almost positive we'll get to buy a new season pass with 3 more characters + Jason.
 
i'm actually not bothered by this. I reckon Freddy Krueger could make this quite interesting. Seeing the styles clash and everything.

at the end of the day it's just a guest character.

Guest characters are quite good, they increase the fanbase. And sometimes they even end up better than the fighters in the actual original roster.

Guest characters will not increase the fanbase at all. Do you really think that someone who hasn't got MK and will only know about Freddy in MK if he reads boards like this, will rush out and buy the game? Minimal impact.

It is just a stupid gimmick and debases the franchise. They did so well with MK9 - I might of guessed they would spoil it!
 
they should have looked into to making the Predator a character. it would have been sweet!

plus if they could do Freddy as a character they could have down a bad ass predator. im talking about the first Predator
