Are you getting Freddy Krueger?

When I read "Freddy Kruger" I was like "whhaatt.... :/" then all I had to see was the gameplay then I was convinced lol. I will buy and learn him. But on top of that I will buy any DLC for this game because I like it a lot and will support it. I wont say until the next MK that people are speculating I always thought it was a little early to be talking about another MK.

I don't like Freddy being in this game. Pure and simple.

But boycotting the compatability pack isn't the way to play this. I have a message for NRS - "I don't like guests" - and I'm giving it to them by not buying the full, unlocked DLC. I'm voting with my wallet.

Only one thing is accomplished by not downloading the compatability pack - the harming of MK's online community, because they can't play their game online. This boycott would direct the message at the wrong people - the fans, not NRS directly.

The "Jason and Freddy" rumour , spreaded a couple of months before, more or less, it's not surprise ..... was discussed, but, nobody was taking serious that ..... even a dude here, in TRMK, I remember, came and said "I have a friend that worked for NRS , designing Freddy Krueger to them" .... but, I think almost everyone mocked the dude, labeling him as a troll ............

Fact is : if Freddy if he had been released on October, Halloween, most of people, knowing/seeing already that coming and being more "prepared" for that, surely that all this negative impacted maybe could be much more minor ..... or even not existing .......... but the fact that Freddy came now, more or less as a "shocking antecipated" surprise, and , according some opinions, stealing the place/spot of a legitim MK character, it's causing chaos and hatred wave.

People are frustrated , that 's for sure, but, are doing too much drama , as if NRS has done the most tragic choice , the worse option ever to be DLC released .... all of us, for curiosity purpose, can be able to name at least 4 options way worse for DLC , than the Freddy dude .... wanna bet ? XD

We have better things to worry about MK, as for example, getting better in the game itself, hehe :D

I know what he's talking about, Ed boon made a tweet saying something about Freddy and Jason in MK9 guest characters, and someone on another forum said he thinks Jason will come out during october, I'm not sure if he's the same guy or not but yea, No source.

I agree, i don't like guest also but you really believe that people will not download 2 free skins. I hear complaints and the boycott thing from the first DLC, boycott because the classic skins are in the game and they had also the lag problem (who fixed but this doesn't matter),boycott Skarlet because she was ready and wasn't at the game and she was also "very expensive", boycott because Kenshi delay a day at the 360, boycott because Kitana and Jade wasn't really great skins for free dlc. My advise to the people who say to boycott is to sell the game and buy UMVC3 (no dlc at all, just wait a year and give 50/60 dollars to buy the update cd version).

Lol. The things people boycott about these days. What's next? People will boycott because Sub-Zero is being beat up in too many videos?
 
lol i really don't get why people are debating what freddy this is. In an interview with Boon it was stated:

Did you base Freddy off the 80s films or the reboot movie from a few years back?
Well…that’s a good question. We didn’t try to make him look like the actor Robert Englund, I don’t even know if we would be allowed to….Admittedly, I didn’t see the latest movie, the remake. But obviously the first few movies were huge — they left an undeniable mark on pop culture. When I look at him, I think of the original Freddy: he’s got the striped sweater and is instantly recognizable. He’s Freddy in general, we don’t really identify him as one version or another.

I find it weird too in the interview he mentions they considered jason, mike Meyers, but felt Freddy was the best choice. Makes me wonder if they are still considering Jason as many people are speculating.

So annoyed in this interview they didn't ask the most important question, is this it for DLC or is there more? would have been a nice confirmation

AS for the compatibility packs, I dunno where i stand. I don't even play online so it doesn't effect me lol. I think if they made them mandatory, if people were dead set against freddy wouldn't they just quit the match the minute they see the opponent picks him?

something else i was thinking, given how big they made the announcement, i wish they did 2 DLC, freddy being 1, and an MK character being the second. Would satisfy more people I think. i could be wrong lol

people were trying to boycott Left 4 Dead 2.........
I love valve games, but the community can be crybabies at times.

and boycotting Mortal kombat? I dont like freddy, but things could have been alot worse.
Freddy is iconic at least, people of many generations have been scared of him at least once in their life. Now Kratos on the otherhand, is nothing more than a fanboy character that zit faced 13 year old boys jack off to. Same with master chief. So things could have been alot worse.
 
I don't understand why people are *****ing about Freddy and him "not being a MK character." There are 28 playable characters to begin with if you have the PS3, 27 of which were MK characters (and I don't remember people whining about Kratos). They've already created an entirely new character for you guys as well as providing 2 MK characters to download. God forbid they do something cool and different by introducing a new character to the series that a ton of people already know and love.

Preach it brother. It's not like Freddy was from another game. *cough cough*KRATOS*cough* I really don't see a problem with him in the game.
