Tekken 7

If Akuma is actually a canonical character, that would be pretty dope. However if he is the absolute "solution" to the Mishima saga, aka he kills off everyone, that would be a major letdown.

He should have a role, a major role even, but not be the solution.

I think he should. Mishimas have been trying to kill eachother for years, would be cool to see this unknown variable be thrown in to solve all the fighting. Plus I'm really interested in this "debt" that he has. Kazumi has to be the baddest bich on the planet if Akuma is indebted to her :laugh:
 
If it were a Tekken character, sure, whether it be an existing or brand new fighter but at the end of the day, whether Street Fighter and Tekken being in the same universe or not, Akuma will always be looked at as a SF character first, and I think that undermines the Tekken roster.

I'm with Taj on this while i'm excited as hell for Akuma i really hope he isn't the universaly solution to the mishima blood fued if he was i feel it sorta to me at least that Tekken can't stand on it's own two feet and has to rely on an outside force as a crutch

either way imma play the hell out of it and still commend Harada on a ballsy move

It's most likely the console release title. You see, they tend to start out as arcade only, just called "Tekken #", but when released for console, they get an update - more characters, more stages, more stuff in general - and that's when the game gets a secondary title.
 
Actually [MENTION=18014]theincubuslord[/MENTION] , Fated Retribution is the name of the update to the arcade version.

For the last three iterations of Tekken, Namco has been giving their arcade releases subtitles as they revise each release for the arcades. The final revision is then ported to consoles without the subtitle.

For example, Tekken 6 was released in the arcades, then its revision in the arcades gave the game the subtitle "Bloodline Rebellion", which was then ported to the consoles but without the Bloodline Rebellion subtitle, named only Tekken 6. Similarly, Tekken Tag Tournament 2's arcade version received an update in the arcades, giving it the subtitle "Unlimited" and then that version was ported to consoles without the subtitle.

The console version is just going to be named Tekken 7.

Seriously? Maybe that's an EU thing then, NA there's no subtitles.

If you can, take a pic of your box art, I searched for the EU cover on Google, it just said Tekken 6.

I double-checked... Mine is digital bought for the PS3, not a physical copy. Maybe that's why. :o

Either way, though the secondary title is omitted, the console version is the updated arcade version which had the secondary title. :P
 
This game is looking good so far but I I really wish Jun was in it. 😢😢
