And for that reason no one compares them. Cause they are unique. They have completely different designs. Even if they share similar professions or race, they are still unique individuals with different personalities and DIFFERENT DESIGNS to show that individuality/difference... and then there is this

Thank you for proving my point.

It's indeed silly to even suggest such things as Frost is a unique character and is getting fleshed out in the comics to further showcase herself far more than the 3D games ever did with her. With her planned future appearances and confirmation that she's alive even when MKX is over and still Lin Kuei it's clear that NRS and Boon in particular have future plans for her. Not to mention that Frost is only behind Kenshi in regards to DA Additions in popularity (Kenshi, Frost and Li Mei... Everyone else from DA isn't well-received at all and lacks any strong fanbase) and is does very well in many fanbases in regards to character voting for those not in MKX or 3D characters that players would like to see. With Tanya in Frost is by far the highest in regards to female characters not in MKX, even beating out Sindel and Jade who players actually took her departure with a "meh" which is odd as she's a "Klassic" character.

She's different.

Her origin isn't the same because of the Outworld and Netherrealm Invasions, thus while before she just joined the Lin Kuei this time she was orphaned and had to grow up on the streets or die. Thus she learned how to be an MMA Fighter, something Sub-Zero isn't, and took lives at a young age so she could support herself. Frost also isn't crazy, she's just egotistical and has trust issues. Frost also is still Lin Kuei even after 5 years had passed since Sub-Zero froze and later punished her so either she's very patient or she's loyal to the guy who gave her a home.

Well we do not know her backstory in original. For all we know she was orphaned as well and fought in some MMA pits. So we can't really say if she has now a different backstory (orphan thing and street fights) or not.

Frost was crazy in Original. In this one she is also crazy or just plain stupid (her going against Scorpion has to be either dumb or crazy decision as both could have led to catastrophic results)

Still I find too many similarities with her known original backstory and this one. Especially that crazy de javu after seeing her in MKX. What she did in MKX felt like, what she did in 3 games together. It was just compressed version and animated. It wasn't perfect copy, but shared way too many similarities.

As for her future potential story. Frost actions against Scorpion showed, that she isn't fully loyal (or loyal at all) to Sub Zero. Most likely she is only using Lin Kuei/Sub Zero to become stronger, and Scorpion was just her test of strength. After getting her ass handed that easily, she trained her ass even more (as Sub Zero mentioned her in intros, as being Chief among other Clan members.)

So at least the way I see it. She is going to do the same thing she did in original and attempt to steal a medallion. (which would be boring as hell) or she will leave Lin Kuei in search for more power. Would be cool to see her hunting other fighters just to prove that she is the strongest.

I was always under the impression that Sareena was more popular than Frost. I don't know of any Frost fans, aside from those of you I've spoken to on here.
 
Yeah she seems to still be the powerful, skillful, dedicated but reckless, ambitious and prideful girl from the old timeline. Just that now we were given a reason.

Frankly i dont see what huge change were some expecting, when all characters are more or less going through the same fates, but at different moments (Killed and ressurected Kitana and Kung Lao under villain control, Undead Liu Kang, Dark Raiden, dead Mileena, etc.) and the ones who havent is because they remained dead or didnt have much of a role in the original timeline.

I think it was cool to see her viciously attack Scorpion out of nowhere. Like I honestly had no clue this was going to happen. Maybe something could have happened to her in the past with Scorpion's clan. That would be kinda cool to see.
 
She's reckless and stubborn already. She may not be still be crazy but she seems well set on that path and once more i think Sub Zero is gonna fail teaching her humilty, although i do think this time she's gonna up differently (as in, not getting herself frozen)

Anyway, i think that if she becomes playable and her clothes are based on her former outfits, they should be based on her alt rather than her mains (aka the female subzero). Flesh out the Cryomancer civilization through her clothes. Revisiting unused concepts for Killer Frost from Injustice would be good too, but mixing them with Frost so she still feels like the same

That medallion is just one of options. I would also love to see her do something DIFFERENT. But again this is Netherrealm we are talking.

You are correct. The demand for Sareena outstrips all female characters after Tanya (and Jade, but she's clearly not going to be DLC). [MENTION=17833]Time_Bubbles[/MENTION] made up this demand for Frost in their head and keeps insisting it's fact. I see more tweets about Sindel and Li Mei than about Frost, even.
 
I'm no Li Mei fan but damn i want her in this game after fetting that make over. Her deception outfit is the second worst female outfit made in MK (only topped by Nitara clothes) and her DA one is not great either.

Gimme dat Michelle Yeoh NRS.

2.) Anything, and I do mean anything that involves that annoying sack of crap's fan-made asinine sh!t is false.

Either they wanted to give Hanky a good laugh that they're actually acknowledging him for once since I'm certain he's pestered them a hell of a lot, or they're joking at the fans who keeps pestering Ed about how the idiot keeps bugging people on trying to make his dream come true.

Also... behind them in how long of a line? I'm like totally confused on what he replied with.

Well, considering that Chrome is a non-entity, Rain has been explicitly deconfirmed, Baraka is dead, and Kabal would be the most random inclusion of all time considering he didn't get a spiffy redesign, has no story hooks, and doesn't speak a single line of dialogue in the game... that's not a group of characters that any DLC hopeful wants to be associated with. I'm guessing there are quite a few characters ahead of Baraka.

Yes, it would be nice to see her get a chance at being DLC, but I don't see it happening. Maybe she'll have a better chance for being playable for the next game, and if not, oh well. She's not dislikable seeing how there are plenty of people who've admitted that she's not a bad character and definitely would love to see her return. I'm not restricting myself to this site.

Yeah, it's cool that she got a new outfit, it's cool that she went up against Scorpion for a few seconds, and she's even mentioned in an interaction. I'd say they're not wasting her like they are with Hsu Hao. They could have literally done that to her and be done with it. But seeing how they're still throwing her in and such, it does give her a chance. Is it a big one? Can't say, because I don't know how well she is liked amongst the Netherrealm team with the exception of Vogel since he said on her player card that he is a fan of hers.

So, we'll see what the future holds.

Boon keeps equivocating on Rain. Apart from "we're not repeating DLC" which he said years ago has there been another comment? I still think Rain/Sindel/Baraka seem like a strong possibility.

I see where you're coming from... and things might have changed... but Rain and Baraka just got lumped in with Kabal and Frost... so... y'know?

I get you. Feels a little red herring-y to me though since he never answers when asked about them directly (unlike Smoke or Frost yesterday). There's just a lot of work done on those characters already and I'd be surprised if they didn't monetize them eventually.
 
Well, they ARE repeating DLC though. Like the klassic kostumes. Sure, he was hoodless, but Subbie had his UMK3 styled klassic costume in MK9, and now again in MKX. The same with Kitana's MK2 styled outfit. She had that in MK9 as well, as DLC.

So there are indeed examples on NRS repeating DLC.
