Frost for MKX

Looking at the big picture, it's still V-shaped tunic and character-specific colors that we all became familiar with. You can nitpick the details all you want, but most people are not looking for that stuff when it comes to recognizing a character. It makes sense that her outfit is very similar to Sub-Zero, at the same time, it only reinforces the the belief that Frost can't be more than a female Sub-Zero.

Yes, I saw Tanya's changes. The hair has changed, but the rest of it was recolored, without any need to change the form of the model.

It isn't nitpicking when the differences are very obvious. Though I admit that in kombat it may be harder to see them due to fast action and darker washed out colors. Furthermore if she came as dlc she would be up for fan feedback just like Tanya. So while she would still have the general look there would be more changes, like with Tanya, to give her a better identity.

Their DLC should not have to constantly rely on the fans' opinions to change something, they should just stop making her look like someone else and give Frost her own identity.

Her own identity and design as different as mk3 ermac compared to mkx ermac.
I mean Takeda is a disciple of Scorpion. Yet they look so different from each other.

The only feature that really stands out for her is her hair. If you make a side by side comparison, the differences can be seen, but they are minor details in the grand scheme of things. The key here is being able to recognize the character in an instant, if these differences are obvious as you make them out to be, fewer people would be complaining.

This is the general pattern that people associate with the MK ninjas over the years. Most people are going to forget pattern of the armguards and belt buckles before they forget the V-shaped tunic.

Tanya's changes have little to do with her outfit, so you can't even compare.

Regarding new DLC, it makes sense IF they do any more after the first pack that they choose:
A) characters already in the story. It just makes too much sense since they already worked on them and it's good for non-hardcore fans to recognise them.
B) to go with post-trilogy since we've seen the others in MK9. Frost, Bo Rai Cho, Fujin, Sareena & Li Mei would all be solid picks.

If NRS and WB want to milk this, I'd say make an ULTIMATE X edition which includes the 25 + 4 DLC and extra: all NPC we fight so Baraka, Rain & Sindel + add story mode cameos who are unique: Bo Rai Cho, Fujin & Sareena / Li Mei bringing the total to 35.

I'd say they'd be pretty foolish to just not include them for future DLC character packs first over characters that don't even make an appearance anywhere in the game.

I mean, they have concepts, they aren't just thrown into the game for cameo sake. (Even if the concept hardly shows something interesting, *cough* Frost *cough*)

So here's hoping that the cameos have a chance to become playable characters... those that aren't already deconfirmed by the developers themselves.

I hope we get a big UMK3-like expansion for MKX. Most likely way for Fujin, Frost, Sareena, Baraka and Rain to be included in the game. The biggest problem would be bringing back all of the VA for the intros.

This. For that reason I am pretty skeptical about Frost DLC. (still hoping and pushing petition thou). Now as all intros are different it would cost them crapload of money to make different intros for new characters. For that reason I am getting a feeling, that if there is Kombat Pack 2... it is already set. So most likely, we can only hope that Frost is included in it.

Unless it's already done. Fujin not being included is still a mystery.

So ok. Fujin right now is pretty much the top requested guy. Him being in Kombat Pack 2 is very possible.
As for Frost. Last time I saw a vote for DLC character Frost placed 6th (Tanya was the only female above her). She is also very possible, even so intel/rumors which are flying around say that Kombat Pack 2 will be mostly Klassic. (not confirmed, but pretty much the only intel we have). I take it Klassic as in Trilogy (maybe MK4 as well). So for that reason I am pretty skeptical about Frost inclusion. Even so I would be damn happy if she was included.

Well, I think they are not considering classic only the trilogy.

I think Frost has chances. I bet that everything about these DLC characters is already done, at the least those who were in the story mode.

I don't see it as too much as some can be phoned in if need and Frost is voiced by Kelly Hu, I believe, and she voices multiple characters for NRS. NRS also could very well use some of the same VA's for Injustice 2 so there's that.

There's also the possibility that there are unfinished intros or intro work done but was left out due to cuts.

I disagree, her lower torso, her neck, and her arm/should areas are very much different.

Her outfit is far different than those palette swaps, I already showcased that. Not to mention that if she's DLC she could get the Tanya treatment and get things changed here and there based off fan feedback.

1. The reason why Tanya got changed is because there was a huge lashing from her fans saying that her skin wasn't dark enough. It was not because of her wardrobe wasn't "yellow" enough or it needed to be changed. It was literally because her skin was too light. (Although I personally saw nothing wrong with it)

2. Frost should not be a Tanya part 2 in which the fans need to make a ruckus for Netherrealm to realize that her wardrobe is too similar towards Sub-Zero. They should just change her outfit altogether without reading and hearing the outcry from her fans.

They probably will touch up her outfit, probably not if she makes it in a DLC pack, considering that they'll continue making more after these four are released. But I certainly think that it would be dumb on their part if they continued designing characters and then having to go back again because a few fans cried too much.

To tell you guys the truth, I liked Frost's outfit.

Sub-Zero's primary is not even used in the story, I mean, it's cool, but it could be much more original on her.

I could see them having a "story-pack" of DLC's from the story such as; Frost, Sareena,
Syndel, Rain, maybe Baraka or Fujin. All just depending. To be honest just in my opinion I never really cared
for the idea of the cross-over DLC's they've chosen such as Freddy or Jason. I'd be more interested in seeing
other warriors/ninjas like Kikashi Hatake or Kazuya Mishima, or Madara Uchiha. Character's like that.
Skarlett, Tremor or even Hydro would also be a huge preference of mine for DLC's

Again, you are getting caught up in the details, none of those things really matter. The contrast isn't strong enough for people to not think of her as female Sub-Sero

I don't get why you are still harping about Tanya. Accusations of "whitewashing" was the primary motivation for the changes. No change outside coloration, was made for attire though, which would require significantly more work. I wouldn't assume that NRS will be bend over backwards every time they get criticism.

Just for the record as I used to work in voiceover -- whether or not a track can be "phoned in", a new session is expensive and there's scheduling required. It's unlikely there is any DLC that isn't already planned and recorded, whether or not it's been announced.
