[SPOILER] Everything about story mode. Pics, videos, discussion, etc.

Only big problem that I really have with the story from what I've seen is Kotal's role towards the end. Other than that, there's really nothing here that bothers me.

The story is not what I expected at all. It's just more of the same with a little more disregard for past continuity.

MK9's story was a tribute to the original trilogy, they didn't even know if there was gonna be a sequel.

MKX just sets the tone for sequels to come.It ends with a bigger cliffhanger than MK9 did.

We've just got Dark Raiden 2.0, Liu Kang and Kitana Lords of The Netherealm, and the retirement of old fan favorites. The end was when it got really interesting, but that's exactly the problem, it ended too soon. The story wasn't bad, it had to be told for the sake of the next sequels.

Now we shall wait until 2019, hoping the next story delivers something mind-blowing, instead of being just "average".

Lol @ "Average"
Story for fighting games in nearly nonexistent. They could have just as easily cut the cinematics and placed text boxes of lore on screen before each fight.

I'm not going to compare Mortal Kombat's story to any other fighting game, Tekken may be the only other one where they do actually care about story.

By Street Fighter standards, MKX's story is phenomenal and deserves GOTY.Fighting games aren't all about the fight, Mortal Kombat wouldn't have gotten to where it is now if it was like Street Fighter, always same characters and same story with better graphics.

If we are to compare MKX to Street Fighter, the typical fighting game, it is a masterpiece indeed.

Now just because MKX doesn't need to have a story, doesn't mean people can't complain. It's like asking someone for a coffee and getting tea, with the excuse being: "I didn't have to give you that, so just be glad you got it"

I can't get over how silly Corrupted Shinnok looks. Instead of a menacing monster, we get a Dark Kahn-inspired goober that looks like something out of a Saturday morning cartoon. Even the generic Netherrealm Oni are more fearsome. Tsk tsk, NRS.

I love the idea of the One Being. I really hope it plays a larger role in the next game. It's literally the God of the Mortal Kombat universe, and we know next to nothing about it.

Ive already seen way to much. Im not clicking on any of the videos containing endings or story footage even though I already know at least 75% of story.

I'd be more keen on Corrupt if he actually looked like Shinnok. As is he just looks like a bigger version of those Netherrealm jobbers.

Would have been cooler if after you beat Shinnok first round, a quick cutscene plays where his bones start spurting out of his body. Twisting and mutilating until they envelop and turn him into a skeletal nightmare.

Oh well, once I beat store mode I'll never see him again lol

Same here. I've read most of the story, but I've only watched about 3 chapters.
