I doubt it given that the generic tarkatan that we saw in the story mode trailer look much different then the image of Baraka. If Baraka is in the game is likely our last character on the roster. Yeah there's Liu Kang but my money is on him being a unplayable boss.

Don't be so positive.

Baraka + Shang Tsung will be in the classic package. Rain won't be playable and als never be DLC, so goodbuy Rain, I wish I could hear you talk to the other characters, now we only see family talk and boring selfies.

That is true... If Rain is not on the game initially, he won't be DLC again. And there goes his chance to be on a main roster for once!
 
If Baraka is in, that would make it more than the 25 + the "?" slot.
That would make it 26 + the "?" slot.
(I'm throwing in a random guess that Liu Kang is unlockable and playable after you beat him as a boss.)

That's possible too.
I just think that he's playable.
Given that the German Game Pro leak which said that Sonya and Johnny are playable is true, then the leak in the same article that Liu Kang is also playable seems true, to me.
 
And there's always the possibility that they weren't off with the "30-something" comment. Optimistic, but let's say Liu Kang and/or 2 other characters are unlockables... You have what, a 30 character roster? The "?" slot that some think is random selection could actually be a slot for unlockables. Or a sign that something will be changed about the selection screen when the game is out.
 
This is Baraka. If you watch the trailer, generic Tarkatans wear different clothing. Watch storymode trailer. Also they dont have those cheek teeth like the one leaked. Pretty sure it's Baraka.

Well, with the roster not being confirmed size yet,
and MK9 had this originally, then turned into this (adding 4 extra characters for grabs)
I'm not ruling out anything anymore. Who knows what they could do.
I've already added all characters onto the roster, too, to see what we have. So far, with every confirmed character, there is no room for baraka, which is why I'm assuming they're gonna be pulling an 'MK9' on the MKX roster.

I definitely hope so. I think Baraka has something to add to the game.

But for an in-fight screenshot the angle seems a bit off? His facial features as well as his left arm are out of proportion?
I'm not convinced yet that he's in.
