Roster Speculation

With regards to the roster:
- Goro was not in there anymore, which makes sense since he's unlockable
- Johnny Cage added

This leads to my conclude that because Johnny, Liu Kang, Erron Black and maybe a few others were available to the people who got to play the game recently, this is the final roster screen / amount. They did not play with Kenshi, Shinnok and Jax who were only confirmed because they have the alternate skins confirmation and Jax was already a given. Some magazines said there were 'a ton of spots left'. If you just add Liu Kang, Erron Black and Sonya to the roster they showed, that leaves 8 so that's 1/3 which is 'a ton'. The 8 are then of course: Kenshi, Jax, Shinnok, Takeda, Kung Jin, Jacqui, Mileena & Goro.

sad but true.. it seems like they've manipulated us about the roster size statements since they presented the game at E3. still hoping for a minimum of 28 so they keep their promise of a bigger roster than MK9 but I doubt it highly at this point

Roster size is not the issue, the choices made for the spots are.

I think most people can agree that Jax/Sonya duo could sit this game out easily and give their slots to some other post MKT characters.
Kenshi's inclusion is questionable as well - Ermac already have telekinetic powers and with 3 variations will cover this magic type very well, Scorpion will cover sword attacks, so what exactly left for Kenshi? If they really needed more Special Forces characters (there like 5 of them without Kenshi already), why not go with Cyrax, who is more unique.

Anyway, the roster could be better, but it's ok and i will enjoy the game.

I can't understand for the life of me how someone writes something like this in the 9th MK of series. Kenshi and Ermac have always had very different gameplay styles, even in Deception where they only shared 2 specials, not to mention that in MK2011 they were extremely different with barely any similarity. This is more nitpicking than anything else really. Just wait for Kenshi's gameplay, then make up your mind about it. I simply cannot see how Kenshi would even play similar to Scorpion and Ermac now, when he never did before... There isn't even anything solid to sustain what you're saying...

Goro is not unlockable. He's downloadable.

They could make a game where its 28 johnny cages.

And I promise you could make them all play completely different from each other. This is why I believe Game Developers make the right decision when ignoring fan ideas/inputs.

If kenshi and ermac were similar I don't understand how I could never care about ermac and am obviously a kenshi fanboy. And I've even always been partial to the bad guys. My point is, they aren't similar. They share like one special move and that's the lift which I don't think kenshi is going to have anyway. Also, there's a variation called possessed kenshi and I've seen a snipit of it in the mobile trailer where this ghost thing attacks the enemy. Pretty sure there's nothing in ermacs style involving that.

And on the point of jax and sonya. Whilst I've never been the biggest sonya blade fan. I'm fine with her inclusion. As she didn't die in the previous game. Jax on the other did and has never really been an interesting character. So I really don't know why they decided to include him above all other characters. Maybe they'll surprise me and others for the first time and make jax an actual enjoyable character. Hell they've done it twice already with johnny(once in mk9, and now in mkx)

No...why do ppl love to be stubborn and ignorant, he's even available for ppl who do not pre-order!

NRS have stated that Goro is ONLY available to those who preorder. He might get unlocked as available DLC at a later point, but he won't be available to those who don't preorder the game at launch.

Its probably because they're not trying to tailor the entire cast around what you specifically want...just saying.

So you can play him from day 1, how hard is it to understand?! Go look it up, Shaun Himmerick confirmed him to be in the game from day 1, just not playable.

Sorry man, but your wrong.

Goro is pre-order DLC, not an unlockable character. In fact, im pretty sure they're done with unlockable characters all together. They're not good for tournaments.
