Story mode (Chapter 1) impressions **Spoilers**

I find it interesting Shinnok's takeover is so short lived. Would have thought atleast a couple chapters for the Netherealm War. Aww well the Outworld Civil War is both new and a lot more interesting. Not to mention, we don't even know what other big pieces we are missing in the story.

By the way, I like the whole Johnny Cage is champion thing. He needed a change in character. Sure he still the arrogant actor we all know and love. But he finally did something huge for Earthrealm by kicking Shinnok's ass! His voice actor even has a bit more bad assery in his voice.
 
We're going to be playing flashbacks to the Netherrealm war era when we hit differentcharacters that were around back then.

Let's not forget that Mileena uses the amulet against Kotal Kahn in the story trailer, so maybe she accidentally sets Shinnok free again in that part against Kotal Kahn.

There's got to be a reason why he playable.
If Shinnok had such a short cameo role only, like MK9 Motaro, I doubt he'd be playable.
There's got to be more going on with Shinnok in MKX.
 
I must be the only person on the planet that really didn't like Johnny's look in MK9 at all. That tatoo and that belt still make me cringe a lot. It looks corny beyond belief and using the argument "oh but it fits Johnny's personality" is mostly a gimmick to justify a very basic and crappy costume.

I actually like Johnny's costume in the Netherrealm War since it seems more fitting to a post-apocalyptic scenario. And Johnny's "baggy" clothes remember me a lot of Nathan Drake which is not bad. As long as I don't see that stupid tatoo, I'm fine even though we still do see a glimpse of that stupidity.

Nop, you're not alone. I also didn't like MK9 Cage at all. MKII Cage is still my favorite, especially because he's not opening his mouth all the time to say crap.
 
I wonder if they will explain on how Sub-Zero gets his human body? The story chapter in MKX that was shown in the latest twitch stream has human Sub-Zero under Quan Chi's control.
 
It also seems Sub-Zero has three costumes. I hope all the characters who died and are back will have two costumes and a revenant costume.
 
Can anyone confirm whether alt. costumes are shown on the character select screen? i.e. when you select one, your character is wearing it before you start the game. I hope that's how they do it.
 
So... If the butthurt about QTE don't show up. I'm gonna be seriously disappointed in gamer's consistency in being pissed about things.

Note: I don't care about QTE They don't make me rage, but I don't find them necessarily fun either.

But plenty of games I've liked that were talked of as garbage just because it had QTE. I have a feeling that consistency stance won't hold.

That is a very good point! Shinnok's MK4 portion may be quick in MKX but maybe he is yet to release his wrath on everyone 20 some years down the road. I'm very excited to see Raiden and Shinnok's conversation. Now I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to MK lore but correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't Shinnok Raiden's father?

It's annoying when a game completely revolves around them, like Ryse.
