MKX Story Trailer (CST 8:00 02/27)

Which is exactly why I think it's some sorta time travel/ flashback thing. Plus, Raiden speaking about the amulet as if he's dealt with it before and has not seen it since makes me think that.

I don't think it's time travel, though.
I think it's just a scene that takes place right after MK9 (maybe a yea after), right after Raiden Teleports Johnny and Sonya and Liu Kang's body at the end of MK9.
Raiden probably somehow found out that Shinnok escaped confinement, again, and went right back to trap him in the amulet, but now with the help of Johnny and Sonya.
Thus, Johnny helps Raiden in this task and becomes Raiden's new Champion.

May I ask where Sonya is in the trailer. I saw Johnny Cage and Raiden in the trailer but I don't think I saw Sonya.

Both Raiden and Shinnok looked absolutely amazing! Really digging Raiden's alt.

Now for the complaints:
WTF is up with Mileena's hair. It looks awful.
Too much Special Forces crap going on…bores the hell out of me.
Why do we have to have newer versions of the same damn people?
Jax/Jacqui. Kenshi/Takeda. Cassie/Johnny & Sonya. Kung Jin seems alright, but even, we've already had a bow user in Nightwolf. Can't we come up with any new ideas?
Oh, and did I mention how much I couldn't care less about the Special Forces shit?

Hasn't played the game, but Jacqui, Cassie and Kung Jin are newer versions of the same people?

Well, they ARE the protagonists. The core group of Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade and Raiden got a lot of screentime in MK9 for a reason.

I just saw the trailer. I literally squealed when I saw evil Kitana and Sindel fight together! As for the special forces aspect of the story..ehh Cassie doesn't interest me, Jacqui doesn't either, Takeda and Scorpion have history so that's a little interesting, and Kung-whatever is whatever. MILEENA...oh my god she looks so good. She sounds so evil and I love it.

The descendants of this game are a representation of all the heroes, but also a new face of the "good guys".

Cassie represents Johnny and Sonya, Jacqui represents Jax, Takeda Kenshi and Scorpion, Kung Jin represents Kung Lao and we don't know if any others, and they seem to be guided by Raiden and Sub-Zero.

All of them are being converged into the four heroes, but they are unique.

Probably. Didn't really look at it that way. Immediately after MK9 makes sense (sonya's outfit). I guess Raiden kinda threw me. I dunno haha.

We could even start the game on its later years, and when mentioned the NRW, we had a big flashback to beat Shinnok MK4 style, just to explain the Amulet trajectory.

There's only one thing I'm sure: Mileena has NO IDEA of what she is doing :laugh:

She is holding one of the most powerful tools on all reality and she wants the throne?

I also think that Mileena doesn't know what she's doing and wields more power than she can handle.

Mileena doesn't have much to lose, Kotal wants her dead. The amulet is giving her a chance to win her war, she just thinks the chances of Shinnok escaping are lower than those of losing the war and Kotal killing her.

No.
No one is forcing me to pre-order the game and play Story Mode first, and then play Ladder Mode. :laugh:
It's in people's nature to want to spoil stuff, though, and in order to avoid spoilers (because people miraculously forget to put spoiler tags sometimes), I'd rather choose to stay off of TRMK until I have played it for myself, that way I don't get it spoiled to me.

Well, I can count on seeing Mileena having a mask-less variation since she's been seen taking it off quite a lot in the comics.
