MKX Story Trailer (CST 8:00 02/27)

Watching the trailer again the moment where the cloud appears. And when theyre fighting the revenants. Seem like they are 2 different areas. The revenant fight looks like its in the netherealm
No, it's in the shaolin/White Lotus temple.

Notice the similar statue and little lion thing:

Old school subzero???? Human scorpion?!?!?!

Here's my card number XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-9391

TAKE MY MONEY Ed!!!!!!

Sub-Zero's main is even more old school than his alt.

Both are classic costumes inspired, his main on his MK1-MK2 outfits and his alt on his MK3 outfit.

Yup, it looks like a shaolin temple. Looks really nice.

BTW, just a piece of info, that's a snow lion also called foo lion or foo dog (wrongly).

My main thing is not only are new characters getting a chance, they seem to be at the forefront. They are the ones the story is focused on.

Really character development here was my main question. They look to have taken gigantic strides.

I really hope so.
I'm glad to see the new guys at the forefront of the story, for once.

My thoughts -

Obviously -
Kung Jin
Jacqui
Takeda
Mileena
Shinnok confirmed.

-I think that Baraka and Rain are going to be NPCs. They just don't look nearly as detailed as the others.
-I think that it was Li Mei making a cameo sitting at the console talking about her village. Too coincidental that she's from a small village in outworld that some crazy s*** went down in. Maybe she'll be DLC? That'd be cool.
-Shinnok will probably be a playable boss. He just doesn't have the intimidation factor that someone like Shao Kahn had. He looks cool, and I'm sure his powers are awesome, but I'm convinced he'll be playable.
-I'm fairly certain that the Sub Zero we've seen in this game is Bi Han. The amulet tying into all of this brings back a lot of memories from Mythologies - that along with all of the talk of him dying just makes me think that. I could very well be wrong, but I'm just don't see the point in bringing Kuai back to do everything over again.
- I think there'll be some sort of time travel involved. The scene with Raiden fighting Shinnok was clearly in the past (Raiden's outfit), not only that but we have two stand-bys as well -- potentially Johnny and Sonya. It wouldn't make any sense if they were there originally. Either they're sitting in on one of Raiden's flashbacks (Which wouldn't make much sense - why is Sonya incapacitated?) or they went back in time to help him take out Shinnok.
- WHERE ARE ALL THE DAMN CYBORGS!? I'm really hoping Sektor makes a come-back.

EDIT _

Almost forgot -- I think Liu Kang is going to be the big bad. I don't think it'll be that lame-ass firegod variation that everyone keeps mentioning, but it will be a vengeful pissed off Liu.

Agreed.
Maybe Sub-Zero killed off all of the cyborgs, like in vision that Raiden had in the comics.

I don't think that's the case at all. Raiden could have just changed his outfit to a more retro one, and if he had already imprisoned Shinnok in the amulet, how could MK9's ending happen and then the amulet hunt in MKX? Not to mention it's been confirmed the Netherrealm War ends with Shinnok being "imprisoned." I don't think there's any need to have Raiden, Johnny, and Sonya fight and imprison Shinnok twice.

Sure. But why would he change to that goofy ass outfit? Doesn't make much sense. I mean.. He's a god. He has no need for many clothes/anything. It's a pretty silly looking gi and obviously a nod towards his old costume. I think there's some sort of time/trickery going on. Maybe Raiden demonstrating to Johnny how Shinnok was initially defeated? Maybe the amulet was how Shinnok was communicating to Quan Chi.

What are you guys talking about? What looks like Kitana? If you guys are talking about that pic in which Cassie is fighting, her opponent looks like Sindel. I have a feeling that's not what you're talking about, but I'm sure someone will explain.

There's a character fighting beside Sindel. Looks A LOT like Kitana.

I think you're looking into it too much. NRS is just gonna have some characters use their alts at points in the story mode and there doesn't need to be a reason.

The fact that Sonya is knocked out and Johnny is there tells me that this is the end of the Netherrealm War.

I freaking, freaking, FREAKING love Sub-Zero's alternate and the voice they have for him. Deadly!

Also, is Jacqui wearing gauntlets for her hands in one scene? I saw a purple glow around her hands.

Even though I'm sure there's more characters coming after this reveal, I certainly enjoyed seeing those that got revealed. I definitely loved seeing Sindel again!

Could be. But I just don't see why he'd be wearing that if it wasn't a nod to the past (his MK1 outfit).

I think it's just NRS wanted to have that costume as an alt more than anything. You could just as well question everytime Raiden changes his outfit in games; I really don't think time travel is involved here at all.

But why have an alt that's clear nod to his old outfit in a situation that he originally took care of? I get what you're saying. Yes, he's had alts before, but this is too coincidental, no?

It just feels wrong that everyone is in one way or another cooperating with Raiden. Even Scorpion and Kotal (and through Kotal, D'Vorah and Reptile and Ferra etc.), let alone Special Forces having a whole batallion playable under Raiden's orders.
Everytime I think of bad guys like Mileena or Quan Chi I have to picture them having only fodder to fight an army of playable good guys.

Because it's an easy way to separate past and present Raiden, and could be considered a reference to the costume he wore in MK4 during the "previous" Netherrealm War. It's not like Sub-Zero's alt means they've travelled back in time to MK3.

Maybe old news and I missed it or am drawing a blank. Sub-zero said he was cleansed and that he died once not again, as for the red scratch which we know as Kaui-lang from old we see it given by Kano. Like many are saying its Bi-han (I agree), the scratch being on the eye is just I think character image. Yet I see people talking about Kaui-Lang and I even seen people say both sub-zeros are in. From this trailer I think its Bi_han from his tone, yet death can change a person. I know theirs no 100% hard facts, but where is the info about Kaui-Lang alive coming from.
