Thought I'd go ahead an make an official Spawn speculation/wish/thoughts thread so we aren't flooding the media thread :)

Here I'd like to share with everyone my thoughts as to how Spawn could fit into MKX SHOULD he be included.

I'm not taking Todd's interview as concrete confirmation that Spawn will be used, mostly because Todd likes to talk out of his ass to self-promote, but it did get me fairly excited and filled with a smidgen of hope.

Here's the Death Battle video I posted before, again, I think the fight was pretty shite but the detailed descriptions and research was good:


That being said, here's what I think his variations COULD be like:

Black Ops: Focuses more on using guns for zoning.

Hellspawn: Uses the chains and cape of his costume for combo hits.

Supernatural: This one I'm not so sure of because my original idea sounded too similar to Ermac, but it could focus more on the use of his magic and involve teleporting and possibly energy blasts.

What are your thoughts?
 
I hope Spawn will make into the game. I hope Todd was talking about MKX and not SC2 HD. If NRS does have the rights to use Spawn then I hope they use him. If people want him then I think enough fan support can help. I think Ed Boon got a lot of tweets for them to get the rights to use Spawn.

Spawn is one of the very few comic book characters that I would be okay with in MKX next to Blade, Deadpool, Savage Dragon, Judge Dredd and Faust.
 
As awesome as that would be, I'd rather not have Violator AND Spawn. Mostly cause people would throw a butch fit about NRS not including a different guest. So as long as Spawn is in I'll be happy with whoever else they decide to add :)

Also, has anyone confirmed with NRS whether or not the Spawn rights thing is legit or if Todd was talking out of his ass?

They don't have to confirm that Spawn will be in the game but they can at least confirm that Todd gave them the rights and he wasn't talking about Namco.

I'm surprise Ed Boon didn't comment on this yet? I would imagine he would tweet about it if he knew and he would be kinda mad if Todd spill the beans.

That's kinda the reason why I think Todd was bullshitting us just to get publicity/interest.

The Spawn movie and animated series have been in development Hell ever since 2005 supposedly so I'm not entirely sure NRS would want to invest in a character that has nothing going for him currently.

Again, I hope this isn't the case but I don't really trust McFarlane's word.
 
If what Todd said was wrong then Ed Boon would said something like "What is Todd talking about?". When Keith Sutherland talked about MK, Ed Boon quickly made a post saying "Keith didn't work on MKX. I don't know what he is talking about". Ed Boon and NRS not saying anything makes me wonder about the whole thing.
 
I was wondering who I'd play as in addition to Mileena. If Spawn really happens, it'll totally be Spawn.

Re-watched the entire animated series last night, I'm feeling the hype. I hope I don't get disappointed. :afraid:

I wouldn't mind if we got Witchblade as well.

Has anyone ever discovered what the hell Sutherland meant with all that MK thing?
 
Spawn is the one guest I would love to have in Mortal Kombat. His huge variety of powers would make coming up with 3 variations easy as hell. Overall he's a great fit and could have an interesting playstyle. Maybe throw in a fatality that uses the chains too.
 
I wonder what concessions NRS will make to get Spawn in the game. Skip the face slice on Scorpion's fatality?

So many people think he's actually confirmed to be in. It's possible. but honestly I doubt it. I don't know how I'd feel about it also. His cape is 90% of what makes him awesome and I doubt that they would have him with it.
