Come on, man. That's trolling hard. He's fully aware. If anything, this kind of baiting should raise your hopes, not lower them. Baiting fans = can mean backlash if bad things happen (in this case, Spawn not getting in).

Yeah, but if McFarlane opened his mouth and hyped up Spawn's inclusion when you know you have no intentions of delivering on that hype, the way you deal with that situation is not to sincerely say "Really? He's OK with us using Spawn? Why didn't anyone tell me this sooner?! Aw man, if only our company was better organized and people told me shit, we could have had Spawn in the game!" on Twitter. I find it absolutely unbelievable that Boon's surprise is authentic.
