Unusual (for MK) looks is a big plus in Bo Rai Cho for me, but these fart jokes need to go away.

Cage can still work as Hollywood actor and being this funny guy for paparazzi, but at the same moment he can train his fighting skills and be more serious when needed...kinda like Bruce Wayne/Batman thing, only without plastic bat ears.

Sigh, I dont get mk fans...why you want things to be soooooo crap and cheesy....The premise of the whole thing is far from cheesy alone....
Why must johhny be cheesy and comic relief? Why does mk need any comedy at all? Every word out of cages mouth was cringe worthy in mk9, I have said it sevaral times...he can be funny, but in an ironic way, like jaime lannister, hes a total pos, but he can back it up and is serious at the same time...cynical, and hilarious with out trying to be....
And bo rai cho? why would any serious person, who cares about story want such a joke in the series? A worthless fat C8%T who spews an farts? why? It cheapens every thing ....Also Kano, I hate how they have made him a dumb aussie, when he was oringal a half japense american gangster bad ass....make him like that again...hes meant to be a vicious, calculating killer.
I personally do not want to see, a joke cage, bo rai cho, darrius, stryker, jax or sonya back....let them stay dead,
for new characters I think we need some more black/red dragon....the potential with that is immense... and they have no made a new character since 06...its time....

No one said he can't be serious....
He NEVER dropped his persona throughout the tournament despite seeing people DIE.
Yes he cares more now, but that doesn't mean he can't joke to lighten up an already dark situation.
Leon Kennedy in Resident Evil makes one liners, because it's his mental way of dealing with the stress of dealing with all the horrible things he has to go up against.
Your mind can do strange tricks to you to keep it sane. And if he gets that power in this ending as canon?
You can bet your ass he'll stay y.

Now we're on the same page. There's nothing wrong with him cracking jokes here and there. People do cope like that, but when he started the tournament, he was ignorant and that ignorance needed to fade away. His movie career just doesn't matter anymore because he's fighting for something greater. Overall, I think Johnny Cage is MK's Han Solo. I just hope that his jokes are actually funny though cause most of them were just stupid in the last game.

Back on topic, the story for MK9 was executed well. Heck, it was done better than every fighting game before it. MK9 set a standard for stories in fighting games. Have you played Soul Calibur V's story? Barely any cutscenes. MvC3, I don't think it had a story outside of the opening and the Galactus fights.
Maybe you just need to take out that butt-plug and enjoy the game for what it is and what it accomplished. And if anything was cheesy about the dialouge, it was Smoke's entrance. For somebody who likes MK, you have a lot to complain about...

You obviously never played SOUL CALIBUR V or really got into Street Fighter, or even watched some of the endings in Tekken Tag 2...
Cage is an idiot who uses his humor to relieve the tension among his comrades... there's soldiers in Iraq who do that!!! It is human nature to use humor to deal with pressure.

Kano was changed for the better. We already HAVE a half japanese-half american calculated killer (Sub-Zero, either one)
I think Kano as a savage aussie kind of character is much more interesting...
You should be complaining about much bigger problems... and you said let's expand the Red Dragon? That means bringing back Mavado (stupid fatality and sound effects for ropes, if you want to talk about stupid) and bringing back Hsu Hao (Ed Boon probably would rather hang himself) ...
By the way, the last new character was NOT in 06, it was in '11, with Skarlet. If they start making new characters a plenty again, you can bet on problems rising.
I feel that you Spader, are an MK fan from its early days. MK has changed a lot.

^ He's not wrong. It was definitely very cheesy and cheap. At times it was even cringe worthy. I didn't hate it though. I just saw it as a nice bonus to help present the game's story a little more coherently... As opposed to a game that is completely devoid of narrative.
Man, guys come on im comlpaing coz I want the best mk game...coz I know its potential....And bringing in the red dragon dont mean shu hao or movado....it means bringing in NEW red/black dragon members...NEw....and you same people callin movado crap...are the same people who say oohhh any one can be re-done.... hsu hoa...is done, you cant make him cool, like you cant make bo rai cho, or stryler cool..they just suck....movado wasnt bad, his moves just sucked.. also subzero is not a calculating killer, nor is he half japanese, hes chinese....half...and hes a goody two shoes now days in the cannon...kano is on par with cage regarding his persona....its a joke

I would prefer a more serious tone for MKX. Everyone has their own personal desires for what MKX should be like. I personally hated the costumes in the new trailer, too busy and weird. I can tolerate jokes and dialogue like in MK9, but I cringe just thinking about Bo Rai Cho's antics. In fact, I pretty much cringe just thinking about Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon altogether. As an example of what I don't want is Noob's puke X-ray. Although the "tone" of MK 1-3 did change somewhat, especially with some of 3's dumb fatalities, animalities, and friendships, I think the music, stages, and characters overall were appropriately serious. For me, I would keep Fatalities (duh!) and Brutalities, but nothing else. The other thing regarding tone for me is the color palette. Go back and look at Mortal Kombat II, all the colors are bright, compared to MK9 where everything constantly looks washed out. It seems counter-intuitive, but the stronger colors allow darker contrast. Also, please get a real announcer, I know Steve Ritchie cannot do so anymore, but there must be someone out there that can do better than the MK9 one, who seems bored at times and then barks out Fatality like he is suddenly paying attention.
I think the costumes in mk9 were too busy, I love the stripped back look of mkx... its more practical... mk9s color pallet was the same as m2 bright purples, an greens etc etc... i just loathed mk3s direction all together ...And im with you on only having fatalities, and brutalities, the rest of the crap should be s%#t canned, its worthless and taking up space... We need more focus on series game play, counters, environments, stage fatals, weapons and finishers, not pointless humor to cater to some neck beards

Story was great, for me, until Chapter 11.
From Chapter 11 and on is where the story went to utter shit, for me.
The deaths from Chapter 11 and on just seemed like they were done to end the story.
Kung Lao being a show-off and dying, Sindel killing everyone in that room, klutzy Raiden killing Liu Kang in order to stop Shao Kahn?
Garbage.
I would have prefered if Liu Kang died a more valiant death by ignoring Raiden and being defeated by Shao Kahn.
At least then, his death wouldn't have just been some mere accident.
