Meh, Trilogy is just another expanded MK3 just like Ultimate.

Trilogy is basically a greatest hits game (featuring everyone from MK1 thru UMK3), much like MK9.
Essentially, MK9 is Trilogy (version 2.0), rather than UMK3 (version 2.0).
 
Quan Chi was the post-MK3 character that made the most sense to have in MK9, though, given previous history and his involvement with Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

Kenshi made some sense as well, even if he was just a DLC character. Now that Shang Tsung is dead, they wouldn't have been able to use him in the next game... Unless they decide to bring him back for some ungodly reason.

There is no excuse for stepping out of character. Once you take away a defining trait from a character, that character ceases to exist.

Kenshi will probably be back for the same reason that Scorpion is in, because he's Ed Boon's 2nd favorite (after Scorpion, of course).
He said it himself that Kenshi is 1 of his favorite characters.

NO BODY stays the same throughout the duration of their life. No one. It's not "out of character" if the character evolves or disintegrates as a result of the story and events surrounding him or her. It's character progression. Are you the same exact person you were 20 years ago? I highly doubt it.

People change. People move on. It's time for Cage to move on as well. After everything he has seen and done, there's no reason for him to contain that y Hollywood persona.

Leave Bo Rai Cho's poop jokes as far away from MK as possible.

They will never do this transformation to Cage. Evolve is 1 thing, transforming into 100% different character is another.
Cage need to evolve, but not like in this ending.

He just said to leave the poop jokes out, and I agree.

If Bo Rai Cho comes back, I want him back sans poop and vomit.
He needs other special moves.

They can always revamp Bo Rai Cho, so that he doesn't have the poop stuff, just the same way that they revamped Kenshi so that he's not an Ermac clone in MK9.

Bo Rai Cho. What's your point? Fart jokes don't belong in MK. Period.

Personally I would leave Bo Rai Cho off future MK rosters. Including him as part of the story, fine. But I don't see the point in having him as a playable character. That's just my opinion, though.
 
yah, I agree Richochettmatt,

bo rai cho, stryker need to necer come back to mk... they just dont belong, liu kang too, unless they can make him be some thing then a screaming goody goody boring idiot... and cage dont need to transform into another character, just go back to being like he was in mk 1 persona wise....ohhh and the gun stuff needs to go to, I do not want to see jax or any other black man toting a gun in this game....

Especially now that he's one of two alive heroes in a battlefield against rising demons from the Netherrealm. I really don't see a guy being that conceded when dealing with a battle that could literally destroy an entire realm when given the chance.

I wouldn't mind for him to have some quirky moments, but his entire character doesn't need to be comedic, especially if this seems to head into an even further darker tone.

After seeing Dark Liu Kang in Legacy I think they should make Liu Kang be like PSY and Cage a serious character.
