Overall gameplay speed and damage

I was watching some MK4 videos, and thinking about MKX as well. I really like how fast-paced the older MK games were. MK9 isn't too slow, but overall I think it should be faster paced. I was also looking at the overall damage and how quickly matches were over with.

I hope that in MKX, there is a run button, and that the overall pace is faster. I really like the overall pace and combo damage of MK4. As well as being able to bring a weapon out. I think it would be awesome if in MKX they increased the overall speed faster than MK9, characters have weapons they can bring out, and that there is a run button.


Sub-Zero moving at this speed just gets me extremely excited.

Yeah, the button system for MK9 didn't really make a lot of sense with front and back punches. No one takes perspective into account like that. but I definitely want a run button again. It makes the game a lot more fast paced. There was too much zoning in MK9.
 
I'm talking about overall, not just tournaments. Kenshi isn't overplayed, either. It's Kung Lao, Kabal, and a little Cyrax and Jax thrown in there.
 
Fair enough but those characters aren't lethal zoners. Outside of Kabal, Kenshi and Freddy, zoning is pretty much non-existent in MK9.
 
You know, I've always debated on whether or not you've ever played MK9 or Injustice online. People try to zone with every character. I had this guy last night that tried to zone me out with Johnny Cage.

Oh boy, here we go with the insults.

Trying to zone and actually zoning someone are two different things. I shouldn't have to explain this.

Everyone knows that Sheeva poops on Kabal and Kenshi when it comes to Zoning, people sleep on her.

Most definitely a secret top tier character.
 
MK4 is one of my top favourite Mortal Kombat game. I would love for the dark vibe, speed, and characters to come back!

Big No to pulling out weapons. Fvk dat! i want hand to hand not some soul calibur crap

as for the run button to avoid pple spamming it the run button should have its own meter that drains a bit everytime you use it so you can only use it a few times per match and have to use it wisely.

and wtf is zoning? is it when people constantly pressure you up close? like cage with that dam leg thing
 
zoning is actually the management of space. it's not specific to projectiles. It's just sort of become the go to word for playing keep away.

back dashing to make someone whiff is also a form of zoning.


So essentially zoning = management of space.

But if you REALLY want to know what people are thinking anytime they use that word, just follow BBBLP's post as the go to.
