Regime superman is basically General Zod

Anyone else find it redundant that Nrs is basically putting two regime Supermen in the game?

General Zod- Is an aspiring dictator with a superiority complex that wants to rule through fear and intimidation.

Regime Superman- Is a tyrannical dictator that rules through fear and intimidation.

Im fine with them having two of the same kind of characters but it just seems really stupid.
that is if he is in as DLC.
 
I mean they did put Black Adam and Shazam in the game sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

also for anyone who doesn't know General Zod
 
but that is different. Regime Superman and Zod are almost exactly alike with the exception of Zod failing to gain rule of krypton and being put in the phantom Zone.

Adam And Shazam are two separate characters in personality and ability. I am not saying Nrs couldn't find a way to make them their own characters. Its just a really stupid move when we basically already have him.
 
Black Adam and Shazam, Batman and Batgirl, Supes and Zod, Lantern and Siniestro(Kinda). They have no issue with the characters being similar it appears.

EDIT: Then again, how many in' ninjas does MK have?
 
Someone could say it's interesting conflict. Two power hungry dictators with similiar powers. Best allies or worst rivals?

With Batgirl released alongside Zod I don't think NRS is too worried about similiarities.

Apples and oranges comparison.

While the MK3 ninjas were pallette swaps, due to memory RAM limitations in 1995, throughout the years the costumes have drastically changed from MK:DA thru MK9.
Not to mention, the MK ninjas also have different history, clan allegiances and abilities.

Batman and Batgirl, aside from being Batman gender swaps, are basically both the same character with fancy gadgets.
Same goes for Supergirl.
Supergirl is basically a female super-human, just like Superman.
Same goes for Spidergirl.
Spidergirl can shoot webs like Peter Parker, and is just another gender-swap of an already original character.
 
Was just pokin' fun at it really. I've never had a problem with how many of them were in MK. But in a game like DC I would prefer if I had a variety of flavors to actually sample. Some characters are just far too close for my liking. It won't be so bad, because I know that they will feel a lot different, which is evident by Hal and Sinestro as well as Shazam and Adam. It's just a little bit unfortunate.
 
And what would the gender neutrality people say to that. Men need to be all muscle and rage while girls are smart and whiny, and agile.

Spidey wouldn't have become popular if he hadn't attracted to the geeky wimpy boys (myself included coughcough) who cant decide between girl and aunt, guys need someone to cry with too.

EDIT: Oh an web shooting is wimpy compared to lasorz and guns too.
 
It's not his personality and more the power set and concept. Dunno, just seems more suitable to a girl. Not saying it doesn't work with good ol' Peter Parker though.

Exactly. Spiderman's movements are very feminine. He moves like a yoga instructor; and we all know women are better yoga instructors than men. Just sayin:)

No not at all. They will have different attacks and are different characters. I wouldn't read too much into it. Reason he may be in is because of a film and he's one of Supermans best known villains.
 
Yeah I don't ever buy the "clone idea"

the only reason I would ever agree to clones or would WANT them is if it makes it so maximum number of people atleast get their character.

I mean people seemed pretty fine with Bi-han being a Kuai Lang clone in MK9. I wonder if Bi-han was created seperately with a different batch of moves, if people would riot? Especially if he was DLC and they're missing say Rain.




anyways I'm the kind of guy that doesn't care if they put in two similar LOOKINg characters or if they have similar/same powers.

People have their favorites and want them playable.


The only REAL reason people are upset that similar characters are getting their own slot, is because they FEAR that those characters are stealing their "fav" characters slot by existing.


Well I dun care... just make them different/unique and I'm sold.

Which comes back to the "Men must be all about strength while ladies have all the dexterity". But Spidey's power is superhuman dexterity so... And you are really underestimating male yoga instructors. Speaking of which I've seen none, male or female, jumping on walls or doing multi somersault-flips from flat ground. Sure Spidey is graceful, buut...

And I don't hate clone characters either as long as all the unique ones are in first. And in this case, the unique ones include Martian Manhunter, Gorilla Grodd, Mirror Master, Ra's Al Ghul, Poison Ivy, Swamp Thing, Black Canary, hell even someone like The Eraser or Rainbow Creature has more uniquity than Batgirl, unless we're talking about the wheelchair armed with rockets-version. After that a walking Batgirl offers a way to vary Batman's gameplay to bit more agile or stronger tastes.

But it's been proven this isn't any different from what Marvel vs Capcom 3 experienced. Characters got green light depending on what are Marvel's or Capcom's plans. Megaman was buried for good so NOPE, Venom is now Anti-Venom so NOPE, Cyclops, Gambit and many others are so 90's so NOPE. Thor, Doctor Strange and X-23 is all the jazz now.
