I also wish they made him more comical in his attacks.
Like Snake Freddy fatality or the long Freddy arms for an attack.
The giant ground claw is awesome though
they gave him the blood geyser fatality which was present from the movie, but he has had a lot more wacky and funny kills over the years, but I guess thay wanted to go with the more serious ones.
I wish they had given him some more eccentric and unique attack/fatalities though, as we already have Baraka as the "slasher guy". They could have done anything they wanted with Freddy, as he can do whatever he wants in dreams, so I'm a little dissapointed how they made his attacks so boring and missed aan opprotunity to make him the most unique character.
I wish they would have taken the "Dream" gimick further, because now he just kinda seems out of place, as he never did any killings out of dreams in the movies
Didn't want Freddy, but I saw him, got used to it and if I had XBL, I would download him and the pack. Still mad that they didn't put Jason in first. But I'm only 14, so I know jack squat about the process or how hard it took to put Freddy in the game and how it was probably easier to make him than Jason.

I'm sorry, but all the people freaking out because they added a guest into the game, need to calm down. You are acting like that spoiled little four year old you see at the mall next to the candy shop crying because they didn't get any candy. Except in this case you are crying because you did get candy.
Like I said before, they are most likely saving some of the most requested MK characters for either upcoming DLC, or for the sequel to this game. How would you guys feel if they gave you every single good character? You would have nothing to look forward to in the next game!
And to the people who aren't even going to download the compatibility pack, you are just being incredibly selfish.
Also, they did say if the DLC sold well they would make more. So this boycott might just come back to bite you in the ass later, when you are complaining they didn't make any more DLC.

Since Freddy isn't being released for another 2 weeks... perhaps they still have some work to do on him (minor tweeks in gameplay,etc). But what I really hope they include is some talking with Freddy.
Hopefully an intro line like: "Welcome to my nightmare", or "Come to Freddy"! I understand him not talking much during the fight (although Johnny Cage pulls that off very nicely!)
However what would be REALLY cool is if they made Freddy say "How's this for a wet dream!?!?" right before he pulls the character down into the ground followed by blood spraying out of the ground (1st Fatality). He didn't use that line in Elm Street 1 (Robert Englund's version) but he did say it when he pulled Joey into his water bed in Elm Street 4 (Again Robert's ver.).
And perhaps when he throws his victim into the newly emerged furnace (2nd Fatality), he can say (as he is approaching the victim in the flames) "How sweet, dark meat!",(seeing as how they would be really crispy burnt afterwards. Another of Englund's great lines, this time from Freddy VS. Jason when Krueger was approaching Kelly Rowland for a kill), followed by his 'bye-bye wave-with-claws' and then slamming the door shut, cutting off the victims arm!
Oh well, those are my thoughts.... I mean I don't really like the fact that they chose Jackie Earle Haley's Freddy over Englund's but WHATEVER! The choice has already been made. Can't cry over spilled milk! But I do hope that with this 2 weeks they have left, they can add some 'one-liners' for Freddy instead of having him ONLY laugh...

Not everyone likes ass-flavored candy.
Some of us just grew up in a different era, where MK stood on it's own 2 legs, without the need of outside help.
It's different times now.
It's pretty much the norm these days to have crossover characters, and even cross branding.
With that being said, we all don't HAVE to agree on EVERYTHING that NRS throws at us.
Let those who want to boycott, boycott.
If Freddy is as popular (DLC-wise) as everyone says, the boy-cotters will be nothing more than a spec of sand in the desert.

I'm not even sure I'll use Freddy's fatalities.
His throw is just that badass!
The "Sshhh" makes it perfect.
Although his Boiler fatality is one of the best in the game
yes his throw is brutal, i love it. im excited for freddy but once i hear the the famous "sh,sh,sh,sh- ha,ha,ha,ha" im gonna go ape shiit.
jason is gonna be badass, they better give him a super armor that last for like 5 sec where he's immune(a little chip damage) to all attacks. imagine him just standing there while u are doing a combo then he just kicks u dead on ur chest then just goes to work with the machete aww man that would be epic lol. think about it this way "haters" freddy or jason wouldnt look right in current fighting games because they wont stay true to their nature. freddy/jason would look stupid in street fighter or tekken, but MK gives them the opportunity to do what they do best. hack and slash motherfckers to death.

Of course you don't have to agree with it. I'm not saying you have to buy him. I'm not saying you have to enjoy using him. But I honestly think it's incredibly selfish of people to not download the compatibility packs just so that they can drain the other people's enjoyment of using a character they paid 5 bucks for.
If you really don't agree with it, by all means, don't buy it. But don't ruin it for people who do want to use him.
I think that this game looks really serious, but doesn't take itself seriously at all. You have spine ripping, flame-broiling, gut wrenching, body ripping fatalities, and I think it's because of this that they can have these characters. I would tend to agree with you if they had a character that totally didn't fit, like someone from Street fighter, or like Yoshi or something, but Freddy is a serial killer, and I think it's just a little tongue in cheek homage they did. I don't think they wanted fans to be disappointed. I can appreciate how much time they spend creating characters. I'm just saying that if you can't enjoy your ass flavored candy, don't ruin it for everyone else who has different tastes.
so before reading this post... i did want Jason as DLC but i wasnt really TOO worried about it
seriously, after just reading you type "sh sh sh sh sh ah ah ah ah" i REALLY want Jason now! he would be so raw in this game just going HAM with the machete! like Freddy, im thinking he'll have some brutal fatalities...
PS, what do yall think Freddy's babality will be?
