worst kombatant in mk9

Its a toss up between Baraka and Sheeva. So far, I haven't found either one to be especially useful. Hell, even CSZ has some halfway decent applications.

I've made my Baraka argument but I'd just like to say, CSZ can be a fricken BEAST. ZelTroidVania has a pretty nice CSZ imo :)

For me it's Jax. He's just so incredibly dull. Plus his ground pound may have had too extreme a nerfing. 2nd worst has to be Sheeva.

Kratos specials are easy to spam, and I find his Quicktime events to be annoying as F***!!!!
I refuse to play against Kratos online.

EDIT:
He's not the WORST character, just annoying as hell.
It's a tie between him and Sheeva.

Kratos is very annoying to play against. He has parry moves and other specials that winds everything down to slow motion because he's "omgsocool!". Then he screams in his gargly voice for practically every reason- match begins, match ends, he dies, he lives, he does a move, etc. Plus, he's miniature compared to the other chars.

kratos doesnt have many mix ups but if he gets a combo going hes deadly his damage is massive,as for sheeva never seen any one use her and i understand her moves are stupid and she looks stupid. Why would some one play as a ugly female with 4 hands and with lame moves if you can be scorpion, sub zero, noob saibot and on and on

definitely sheeva. i can actually do combos with baraka. yes he does suck but no one is as bad as sheeva. the suck list goes 1. sheeva 2.baraka 3.jax

Shang Tsung. He's just so clunky and weird. I dreaded beating it with him, he kinda sat in the Nekropolis unused until one day I went "FINE! Let's do this."

I just used my main and switched to the chars I don't like at Shao Kahn to get their ending, can beat him with only uppercuts if you know how. Or spend 2secs looking up a 3 hit combo to make it go faster, specials aren't even needed.

As for Tsung his fireball juggles can be nasty! Haven't seen anyone do good mixups with him yet.

Anyway, I know alot of ppl are saying Baraka but I think he has potential to be good, just not many use him. Faught against a few decent Baraka players and his mixups are good and he's hard to close in on if you're using someone like Cage. Just like others have said he doesn't have high damaging combos but high damage combos aren't what make a character "good"

I'd have to go with Sheeva since I haven't seen a decent player with her yet. Just those trying to special spam you to death

I use Cyrax primarily , but my secondary is Sheeva. She's a bit slow , but I can pull off some good combos with her and know how to make up for her lack of speed. In my opinion , the worst character in MK9 is Shang Tsung. He used to be a favorite of mine until he lost his morphing ability. He's a bit slow and doesn't have enough diversity in his combat style for me.

I don't know anything about gameplay but DCP explain Kung Lao is a broken character. It sounds very true to me. Here it is:
DCP said:
Dude, not to toot my own horn here but you guys know how much time I dedicate to this damn game. I know how to counter pretty much everything. I know when to punish, how to punish, what moves have priority, etc. I'm not invincible, but it takes a lot to beat me.

This all changes when someone picks Kung Lao however. They slowed down Johnny since the demo because he was "too fast". Yet Kung Lao is faster than he was originally. Then we have the fact you can't jump in against him. One of the biggest things in MK is jumping in to start a combo. It's been that way since UMK3. Can't do it against Lao though. Then he has a low projectile, a projectile that can be guided up or down (to eliminate those pesky people trying to jump over your other projectile), and finally a teleport to dodge projectiles. Combine that with the speed of a rabid cheetah, and you've got yourself an invincible character. He can be beaten, but Johnny being my main, it's damn near impossible.

Immortal Reaver pretty much explain it himself too in this link. [cilck on this sentence]. These two, IMO, are one of the best people to go to for gameplay I believe them.

But then again, I kould of misread these kind of things kause I'm not very good at gameplay mechanics and all that. I just kare about the story and enjoying the game.

Storywise: Sheeva, her role in the game is so pointless. If you're gonna bring a character that no one liked in the game, at least give her a good story instead of her just being there.

Kenshin1? That kid joined my KoH the other night and literally stood in the corner shooting slides and shadow tackles every single match. Everyone left KoH.

Whao! Was this on PS3?

It would be sheeva for me. I really like Jax to play with allthough i usually end up loosing. Im trying to get to grips with some of the less used characters online. I play 2 player tag online with my friend who sometimes picks Baraka( a character ive rarely seen online) and is naturally quite good with him and often owns folk. People dont know what to expect when they are facing the more obscure characters online and i think it throws you off a little, not been able to predict your opponents tactics etc if you havent faced the character as much.

yeah his specials seem pritty good but i have never seen over a 30% combo with noob

uhm, you obviously dont play him, he doesnt really have any combos, his combos are one of two of his bnb 3 hit strings ending in shadowcharge (for like 24% damage after jumpin)

he can do like 50% in the corner with 1 meter tho, and he has great zoning.

you didnt specify if you lost o them or not. if you say they suck and you lost, they outzoned you a actual fighting mechanic that many mistake for spamming, if you beat them easily then ya they suck i spose.

edit:

someone posted a link with a blackhole combo starter, a little difficult because its so slow anyone whose paying attention will jump out. but with recent changes (all black holes can be canceled into from his bnb's and have faster recovery frames) it has potential. need a good setup for it tho. and a lot of practice. the average player i strongly doubt knows about or can execute it.

Wow, Sheeva gets too much hate.
From my experience, she is a good character, I can do 30%+ combos with only 5 hits. Also, she has many tools: zoners, ant air, low grab.
Every character is good and has potential, but if I had to choose the "worst" character in the game, I'd pick Baraka.

I agree with the Sheeva comments but Baraka isn't bad either, The difference is how much time you put into that character. Off of what I said I would say Cyrax is (my) worst character.

Fail thread is fail

Baraka. Sheeva is at least powerful, the best combos I've done with Baraka are still low compared to anyone else.

Sheeva is actually my main but i wouldn't disagree in the sense that sheeva is actually really hard to use. In the proper hands and mind set she can be totally deadly and do an opponent in within seconds. Really her biggest folly is that she has nothing even remotely viable as a wake up attack against someone staying on her as she stands up. If you can escape though and really pick your timing you can do an opponent in with about 3 combos and string them together with unblockables and baiting opponents into mistakes. A lot of people don't know how to counteract my strategy as well which has helped me defeat some people online with like 4 times the record. Not to brag or anything lol it doesn't happen often.

I actually really like baraka too. Excellent punshing character and i actually play him defensively but i wouldn't say he is the worst or best.

Come to think of it...i really don't know who i would say is the worst. I feel that every character has a different difficulty level but none are really much worse than the others

i actually like sheeva in the game, i would say shang tsung is the worst, trying 2 pull off combos with his fire balls online is torture :(
