According to a post by Cinder over on the Midway Boards, Xbox owners are going to have to have a little more patience with the last Mortal Kombat game on their console. In addition to being passed over on a Premium Edition of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, the Xbox version of Armageddon will ship out one week after the PlayStation 2 versions. Since the PlayStation 2 versions will be in stores on October 10th, the Xbox version will be in stores on October 17th.

UPDATE: The previously mentioned thread was deleted. A new thread restating the delay was created.

Doesn't bother me one little bit. I'm getting the PS2 version of the game. Just as well it's only a one week delay, dude, and not a month! Now that would suck!

The very fact that I, one of the most loyal MK fanboys you will ever meet (-MK4) would be screwed over so badly by Midway. ****, if it weren't for the PS3 coming out so soon I'd go get a ****ing PS2 on October 9th. If they delayed both versions for a week I really would NOT be so very pissed. The fact that people who just so happen not to own a PS2 get so royally screwed over with the lack of a Premium Edition and now denying me ANYTHING to do for a whole week! That's really what they're doing. I can't come on these forums for a week. And you know what? I do that alot. Not to mention I have more schoolwork to do that week than I would have. It depriving me of the ENTIRE EXPERIENCE. ----UPDATE---- It seems the pertaining thread on the Midway forums has been removed. I can't say I blame anyone posted. We have a god given right to be mad at Midway for this. If they did this to the PS2 and not the Xbox there would be 10 times as many PS2 fanboys up in a rage. I sympathise, Glam, I really do. This is an event that many dedicated fans such as yourself are fully geared towards, and not to mention all of the nonsense with region versions of the game. No Premuim on PS2, no PAL Xbox release. Blah blah blah. It really is a shambles the likes of which has never really happened before with an MK game. And to top it all off, this is the big TAMALE. So in a way, that makes it even worse. MK fans will not easily forget these dilemmas. So hopefully the fruits of Boon and the MK team's labour on this game will well and truly be worth all the hassle. Me, I can wait another month if I have to. Simply put, we are at the whim of Midway.

This is pure ****ing bullshit! First Xbox doesn't get a Premium Edition, and now this? If MKA isn't compatible on the Xbox 360 on the release or shortly after, I will be severely pissed off. Waiting an extra week isn't the reason I'm pissed now, it's the lack of courtesy to Xbox owners. Midway and Microsoft act like no one plays Xbox anymore, when a lot of people do.

No dude that's part of the reason I'm pissed too. Even though it won't directly effect me, it still bothers me. EDIT: Does anyone know the reason behind the delay? The only thing I can think of is so they can make it backwards compatible for the 360, so when it launches you can play it right away if you only have a 360. If this is the case, then it's fine. I have an Xbox, so I'll play it on that untill its backwards compatible, but I won't be able to play on Xbox Live untill I play it on my 360. I'm hearing people say the reason for the delay is so it can b BC on the 360 on launch, but then again 'your average joe' isn't a good source.

They probably just havn't updated their dates yet. It hasn't been very long and I doubt it's at the top of their to-do list.

As for xbox not getting the premium ed.... isn't ultimate mortal kombat 3 going to be an xbox live available download? this is m$'s way of getting the extra $10 instead of midway.

UMK3 is coming to the Xbox Live arcade. We already know that Xbox won't get a P-Edition. Actually, UMK3 on the Xbox Live arcade will cost you $12.50 to buy 1000 M$ points, so thier actually getting $2.50 more per customer off of Xbox. Also, UMK3 for the XBLA won't be arcade perfect either, but it will have online play, which is awesome!

When I get XBL, and I'm seriously considering it. I will PWN JOO at UMK3, N00BLING! MKA, meh, that's another story. I can't even play MKDA or MKD. So, I guess I will have to practice just so I can fight you without getting pwned too much.

People are so worked up about the PE edition b/c of the UMK3. I couldn't care less about UMK3. It's by far my least favorite MK. I'm more interested in all the trading card vids and the history of fatalities DVD dammit! I really WANTED those. **** you Midway. **** you and everything that you are.

This is little mess up, I went to gamecrazy and got the paper(that was like 2 day ago), and it say the game release on the 2nd, and that is today and i don't see it, then i asked that guy about MKA and he said it come out tomorrow. Don't you think it suppost to come out on the 9th?

i don't think its midways fault, remeber, m$ put UMK3 on XBL, if they would allow midway to release a PE for xbox there would be no reason to pay for the download.

I just have to say, that I'm truely sorry for all X-Box owners, I hope that you find the extra wait worth it in the end.

I'm sure it will be worth it dude. I've been waiting for years, I can wait an extra week. I want to know why it was delayed though, they can't delay a game and not give us a reason!

First, my theory on the delay: This could happen to put the MKA emulation for 360 on the game. If so, seems like an effort to make up the lack of a premium eddition on Midway's part. next, for the milianth time, does the fact that UMK3 will be on XBLA matter to the old xbox players? The lack of a premium eddition isn't necessarily the way for M$ to sell more 360's or more copies of UMK3 over XBLA.

Only, Walmart and Bestbuy are delayed. Also the Gamecrazy letting me know that the game is release on Tuesday the 10th. And I just notice this, 10/10/10(Month/Date/Hour). Gamecrazy is open at 10:00am, so i may get there by 9:30am.
