Xbox MK: Armageddon Delayed One Week After PS2

According to a <a href="http://forums.midway.com/all_things_mk_armageddon/b10762/25159178/p1/?45">post by Cinder</a> over on the <a href="http://forums.midway.com/all_things_mk_armageddon/b10762/p1">Midway Boards</a>, <b>Xbox</b> owners are going to have to have a little more patience with the last <b>Mortal Kombat</b> game on their console. In addition to being <a href="http://www.trmk.org/news/9215/midway_backing_off_original_xbox_no_mka_premium.html">passed over</a> on a <b>Premium Edition</b> of <a href="http://www.trmk.org/games/mortal_kombat_armageddon/">Mortal Kombat: Armageddon</a>, the <b>Xbox</b> version of <b>Armageddon</b> will ship out one week after the <b>PlayStation 2</b> versions. Since the <b>PlayStation 2</b> versions will be in stores on <b>October 10th</b>, the <b>Xbox</b> version will be in stores on <b>October 17th</b>.

<b>UPDATE:</b> The previously mentioned thread was deleted. A <a href="http://forums.midway.com/all_things_mk_armageddon/b10762/25164144/p1/?6">new thread restating</a> the delay was created.

Doesn't bother me one little bit. I'm getting the PS2 version of the game.

Just as well it's only a one week delay, dude, and not a month! Now that would suck!
 
The very fact that I, one of the most loyal MK fanboys you will ever meet (-MK4) would be screwed over so badly by Midway. ****, if it weren't for the PS3 coming out so soon I'd go get a ****ing PS2 on October 9th. If they delayed both versions for a week I really would NOT be so very pissed. The fact that people who just so happen not to own a PS2 get so royally screwed over with the lack of a Premium Edition and now denying me ANYTHING to do for a whole week! That's really what they're doing. I can't come on these forums for a week. And you know what? I do that alot. Not to mention I have more schoolwork to do that week than I would have. It depriving me of the ENTIRE EXPERIENCE.

It seems the pertaining thread on the Midway forums has been removed. Whether this means it made in error, the information was incorrect, or it was simply not meant to be posted so soon, we do not know.

It seems it was deleted because there were deflamatory, offensive, and all around asshole-ish posts of anger and rage being made in the thread. I can't say I blame anyone posted. We have a god given right to be mad at Midway for this. If they did this to the PS2 and not the Xbox there would be 10 times as many PS2 fanboys up in a rage. And yet they have the nerve to mock us? I'm seriously hurting here...it's just cruel dammit. On the part of Midway and those assholes who have PS2's and brag about it.

Hell No, My Birthday Is Comin Up On The 11th, And I'm An X-Box 360 Owner And I Wanna Use MK Live On My 360...If They Delay The Date Then I'm Screwed. My Nice Old Granny Is Gonna Buy Me That Game..If Its Not Out By Oct 11 I'm Gonna Get Another One Of Those Itchy Ass Sweaters Again....AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
 
I sympathise, Glam, I really do. This is an event that many dedicated fans such as yourself are fully geared towards, and not to mention all of the nonsense with region versions of the game. No Premuim on PS2, no PAL Xbox release. Blah blah blah. It really is a shambles the likes of which has never really happened before with an MK game. And to top it all off, this is the big TAMALE. So in a way, that makes it even worse. MK fans will not easily forget these dilemmas. So hopefully the fruits of Boon and the MK team's labour on this game will well and truly be worth all the hassle.

Me, I can wait another month if I have to. Simply put, we are at the whim of Midway.

This is pure ****ing bullshit! First Xbox doesn't get a Premium Edition, and now this? If MKA isn't compatible on the Xbox 360 on the release or shortly after, I will be severely pissed off. Waiting an extra week isn't the reason I'm pissed now, it's the lack of courtesy to Xbox owners. Midway and Microsoft act like no one plays Xbox anymore, when a lot of people do.

No dude that's part of the reason I'm pissed too. Even though it won't directly effect me, it still bothers me.

EDIT: Does anyone know the reason behind the delay? The only thing I can think of is so they can make it backwards compatible for the 360, so when it launches you can play it right away if you only have a 360. If this is the case, then it's fine. I have an Xbox, so I'll play it on that untill its backwards compatible, but I won't be able to play on Xbox Live untill I play it on my 360.

I'm hearing people say the reason for the delay is so it can b BC on the 360 on launch, but then again 'your average joe' isn't a good source.
