After Freddy was revealed to be the fourth DLC the only thing we never learned was whose skins would be included with Freddy and in the Compatibility Pack #4. At Comic-Con they had Unmasked Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat 3 playable, but no news on the second skin. Until now that is, the second skin will be the first alternate costume for Cyber Sub-Zero. Here's a look at the render:

I am glad to see Cyber Sub-Zero finally get an alternate, even if it's similar to the previous Cyber Ninjas. It gives everyone on the main roster an Alternate costume now.

Im more than happy to see an MK3 costume. And while i do think NRS is being lazy with the palette swaps, oh well. Theyre free so we cant ask for much. Cant wait to get them!!!

Very excited, I love Cyber Subzero and I am stoked he Finally got an alt.

Keep in mind complainers that this is the FIRST alternate for Cyber Sub-Zero, he has no other skins. You may think it's just a simple "lazy" "palette swap" but it takes far more than just changing the skin color to make everything work right with the character's moves, fatalities, etc. All the animations and other related code for the character need to be redone to look right and tested heavily for glitches and differences between the main costume. It's a good amount of work we're getting for free. I would much rather have this skin than yet another Smoke or Scorpion skin as people were requesting. Would it have been cool for others with two skins to get a third finally? Sure, but only after every other character has a second. It's possible we may get more paid skins in the future too, just this is the last free pack that comes with a DLC character. Time will tell.

That's very true, but I think a lot of fans were hoping for CSZ's ending costume instead. This retro one looks great though, I'm looking forward to it. Like I said in another thread, actually makes me want to play him more.

I agree with the OP,cyber-sub had 0 alternatives.He deserved one,as so all DLC characters.In my list i had mk3 sonya and first of all reptile in human ninja form(from the artwork book)but that is personal opinion and nothing more.Good costumes from NRS and i am sure more will come,so no need to shout and complain...

The UMK3 ninja outfit looks awesome. I can't wait to get one for Scorpion, Ermac, Rain, and the others.

I would of loved a palette swap for cyber smoke... but now im gonna really work on cyber sub, appearance and costumes for me are a big part of who I choose to really dedicate to, I absolutely love it #1 was definately Noob's MK2 Alternate color (smoke as his shadow) but #2 for me is cyber sub's

Can I ask what post previous to this comment required you to respond with this statement? One of you just had a post saying "To all you complainers..." which I assumed was for the future ones we would have to deal with cuz I hate em too, but from what I see these people are giving their opinions. Klassic Cyber SZ Somehow reminds me of the comic book/mugen character "Hydro"

He does look like Hydro, pimppaperclip. Umasked Sub-zero is pretty awesome; definitely going to use it on my Subby from time to time.

MK3 Subzero is great, but the cyber costume is just a waste of time and demostrate how lazy the NRS team is =( anyway I'll download it 4 free.

Boy, am I glad it's not a Cyborg Smoke costume! It still gives hope that there will be a DLC Cyborg Smoke down the line. I was planning on giving Cyber SubZero some more playtime as a main, so maybe this costume will be my incentive.

gonna pass on this one I always used to make fun of unmasked version because of how stupid he looked, and cybersub has never and will never be retro. oh well, maybe next time there will be some I want

I am glad that Cyber Sub Zero did get a second costume, now the dlc characters need some theirs. The unmasked sub zero would look better in my opinion if it actually looked like the costume he wore in MK3 while unmasked.

They didn't really work hard on these ones (MK3 Sub-Zero looks like an action figure), but they ARE free. If they make ones you have to pay for they will probably be quality costumes like the original Klassic Costumes. Some new alts would be nice, but I doubt it.

You call it laziness but its called cost effectiveness. They aren't gonna sink a considerable amount of money into a free comp pack. If they did that then the dlc wouldn't have made it very far. But rest assured that NRS is owned by a huge corporation that will find anyway to squeeze cash out of you. So any MK kostumes that aren't palette swaps will possibly be made but will cost you.

Ah, Sub-Zero's scar is pretty nasty. I love it. I'm so happy to get unmasked Subby and hoping this isn't the end for the retro costumes.

These are cool, but the Unmasked SZ isn't Henry Rollins enough for my tastes. That spindly neck is weak.

I'm loving the unmasked Sub-Zero A LOT. Been waiting on it for a while now. Although, I thought he was going to be asian like his story video but oh well. It's free. Cyber Sub-Zero, meh, oh well. At least he has his own costume now:DD.

Soul calibur may not be near as good as Mortal Kombat, but when it comes to Alt costumes, it kicks mortal kombats ass. SC2 had 1 primary and 2 alts.That was awesome. SC4 had only 1 alt, but let you customise a total of 8 alternate costumes. Wish they knew how to handle alts over at NRS

Its not that costume either. It is the UMK3 Kostume. Look at the design. They just took the mask off. Obviously NRS thought that the MK3 version of Sub-Zero wasn't the greatest kostume. And they could easily add a mask and palette swap this kostume for all the UMK3 ninjas. Very cost effective.

As long as he doesn't look like he's turning a crank while wearing it in MK9, I think it looks really good.

It's dumb to compare something official to a fanmade sprite. He looks like Cyrax and Sektor, but in blue. That's what he looks like.

I dont have a problem with it, it beats everyone staying dead, or more useless cyber characters I want tutles in mk10
