After a few weeks off, Mortal Movie Monday (MMM) returns this week with a great new feature. This week our own forum member itobandito submitted a video he created. Ito works with Retroware TV and hosts this week's episode of their show From Pixels To Plastic where he discusses his ultra rare Goro statue that he found on eBay.

The origins of the statue are unknown, but appears that it only was released to retail in Japan back in the early 1990s. There is no known place to get these easily, but there are likely some sitting around in someone's storage room right now. Yet you can find the very similar, yet unpainted, resin kit for around $65 on eBay. Check out the video below for more information.

awesome! I tried on bidding on eBay for that damn thing 2-3 times over the years and lost each time.

Ive actually seen a couple of these sell. There is a limited # of 500 made. I actually own one. Each figure is #'ed too.

how much did you pay for it? And Tim, did you happen to see what the final bids were on the auctions you lost?

they were over $300 I went up to $175, because I do think the statue is worth it. Its totally bad ass.

I'd pay up to $200 for the painted one, otherwise may get the model one and make it a project.

175? Well if you're a fan of Goro I suppose. But I've never really liked him. Now if I could get an awesome MK3 or MKD Shao Kahn statuette...now that I'd pay 200 for.

For me its Scorpion or Raiden I'd fork bucks out over.

Well I've already got 3 great Scorpion and Sub-Zero figures. The MKSM ones were the best as far as I'm concerned, but I also have the old tiny looks-nothing-like-them MK1 versions and the MK3/annihilation movie versions. So I'd rather have Shao Kahn.

Very cool ^^ If I got much money than I will buy be such a Goro statue too. I read somewhere that just 1000 goro statue exist is that true?
