The MK9 ending dictated that, with the Story Mode ending showing Quan Chi and Shinnok being the next villains who plan to take over Earth.

Did you not play the MK9 Story Mode AT ALL?

MK9 = based on MK1-3.

Ending of MK9's story mode builds up Shinnok's escape from the Netherrealm, which happened in MK4. Therefore, MK10 will be based on MK4. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. This is basic common sense.

As far as costumes go, all I want is to get Reptile's Full-Lizard back. I don't care what anyone says, it's one of the best costumes they've ever produced.
 
I was wondering, do you guys think they might even abandon the MK4 plot by doing something completely different? I remember when NRS were talking about the future after Armageddon and implied scrapping everything story wise from before and introducing a completely different time era.

Possibly, but I don't see them scrapping ALL the characters from that era.

Despite the MK4 thru MK: D era having lots of throw away characters, I don't see them just getting rid of every character from the MK4 thru MK: D era.
The timeline has changed, but that doesn't mean that SOME those characters still can't be introduced.
 
I think the MK4 story will play out a lot like it did the first time around except Liu Kang is dead. So I don't think any of the story from DA (Tsung is dead) or Deception will happen. It will be totally different from there. Shinnok might even win lol

Even though it wasn't 100% confirmed and Raiden didn't squat down to do a pulse or heartbeat check, it was heavily implied that he DID die, so I'd go with yes.
Liu Kang, as of now, is dead.

God no. Elements of it maybe (the tail for example) but nothing else. The Reptile from that era was butchered. They even took his (force) balls.
 
I hope they make the character models more anatomically correct, specifically - regular sized heads and palms and proportional muscles.

Agreed. As much as I love MK9, the body types really bothered me. Liu Kang should never be the same size as Jax Wtf?

From what I read and heard from back then, I was under the impression they were going for something that involved nothing from MK1-MKA except with the estimate of Sub-Zero and Scorpion. I could only imagine that they would do something with an MK tournament in a different corner of the universe that we haven't already seen. But anyways, we ended up with MK vs DC after they spoke about that. So I wouldn't be opposed to that but I'm sure this MK4 arc revamp will be killer.
