Critical, it's obvious that she isn't a complete Sub-Zero copy; that would be like saying the Melee "clones" are complete copies of the characters their movesets are similar to. The point is that in her current form, keep in mind, despite a few differences, IMO, she still isn't feel very unique or interesting at all. She doesn't have much of a story beyond being power-hungry, and IMO, nothing about her aesthetically is really all that interesting or unique.
As I said before, there's more to a character being unique in my eyes than just gameplay. They have to have interesting backstories and motives that drives their overall stories in interesting ways, a badass look that fits them and only them in addition to a unique and fun moveset
By 'need' I meant in the sense that she has to be present in the new timeline when her part of the story comes especially if nothing has changed with respect to her compared to the original timeline. Although characters like her, Jarek and Kobra will have to be developed/changed alot to have some appeal, the starting roles they play will more or less remain the same. Taking them away would create unnecessary voids in story and their connections to other characters. I know that they didn't really have a huge role to play and taking them away would not really hinder the main story, but for me it is the little things like this that should be given emphasis and detail along with the main plot to get an amazing overall story.
Its not really like saying a character is needed based on what they could be, these characters are already rooted into the story and they could be anything, but they are still in the story and should be brought back in whatever form feasible(playable character/cameo/cutscene etc).
I may sound like Im blowing up the importance of obscure characters, but in my view they are important as well, if not so much like thepopular ones.
Ah yes I see, I totally agree that the little details matter but I disagree, axing a character like Kobra completely from the series wouldn't take away anything from the overall story that hasn't already been at least touched upon before, big or small. At least with Frost she's another warrior of Cryomancer descent, and since we don't know much about that race, she can be used along with Kuai Liang as a way to expand upon the history of that race. Even with Jarek at least we know he's the second-in-command of the Black Dragon (and also the last member other than Kano), so there's quite a few things you could do with that.
Kobra adds absolutely nothing meaningful to the MK universe.
Nothing. He had no relationships with any other characters than Kabal, his boss, and Kira, his co-worker, so to speak. He didn't do anything significant, either; even Hsu Hao destroyed the Outer World Investigation Agency. He's just a random Black Dragon crony that happened to get the playable character, in my eyes; hell, even Apep from Deception's Konquest added more to MK than Kobra ever did. So, unless Havik manages to convince Kabal yet again to return to the Black Dragon (which I would hate, but whatever), there's no reason to bring him back in any form other than just giving him a random cameo, because nothing about his story even deserves reference or recognition
Also some cool oriental chinese concepts I found for Shujink and Ashrah. I particularly like Ashrah's, it could be a good backstory for her prior to her becoming a demon.
Wow! Those are cctually pretty badass
Maybe I can actually remember her more often if she looked like that, hehe
