Your wishlist for MK10

I understand you guys are die hard Sub Zero fans, but if he does return what could he do to advance the new timeline? Back in the old time line he really did things that upped HIS own side story instead of helping advance the old timeline.

He could help save Sareena this time around, since things are switched, and maybe she helps him in reforming the Lin Kuei, as Metal said.
The newly reformed Lin Kuei could be a major help, by joining EarthRealm and Outworld, against the forces of evil (Quan Chi, Shinnok and the NetherRealm).
Shinnok said at the end of MK9 that both EarthRealm and Outworld were too weak for the NetherRealm's onslaught, so I could see a scenario in which the newly reformed Lin Kuei help balance the battle out.

Sub-Zero doesn't really need to tie into the main storyline, at least not often. That doesn't really fit him

And I would have been more open to plot twists if it weren't for the MK3 portion of MK9's storyline. So no, **** plot twists

Basically what Araknyd said. Also, maybe Sektor could form the Tekunin again and have a sort of rivalry with Sub-Zero and the new Lin Kuei

Or maybe the Lin Kuei could even have a rivalry with the newly-awakened Daegon and Mavado and the Red Dragon clan again like in Armageddon (this is the only time I actually liked the Red Dragon)

Well I could see that happening, I just want to see them do more with him other than reforming the LK again.

Of course we don't know that for sure, we barely know anything about what'll happen this timeline from this point on

That's why their called ****ing ideas, dumbshit

I like this idea.
I didn't care too much for the Red Dragon clan either, but it would be cool to see what NRS could do with it, this time around. ;-)

I'm a huge Sub-Zero fan, and I wouldn't mind him having a different story this time around. I'm for new, just not cyber new. When I feel that an element destroys everything the character stands for then that's just bad.

Sub-Zero grew into one of the most powerful good guys in the old timeline, I would like to see that happen again but just in a better way. Personally, I want to see him save Sareena from the netherrealm. The two of them then reform the Lin Kuei. They also rescue Smoke and possibly Cyrax as well to make one hell of a fighting team. I then want to see Sub-Zero have a kid. That would then lead to more story progression from him. The child doesn't have to play a large role, but I do want it to be mentioned that Sub-Zero continues to fight for good in order for his son to have a better life.

If not that route then I want him to first find out that Quan Chi was behind everything, and since he's in the netherrealm now it shouldn't be a far stretch. Then inform Scorpion that they were both fooled by Quan Chi. The two of them then kill Quan Chi and call a truce with each other. Ending the rivalry. That may upset some, but really it needs an end. Then I want Sub-Zero to disband the Lin Kuei. Not reform it, but just destroy it all together. Something along those lines. After this all of the heroes see that Sub-Zero has definitely changed and accept him as an ally. From here he really does become like batman, showing up when the fight ensues to help the good guys, but not being huge friends with any of them.

There were many directions that Sub-Zero could have went in MK9 as well that would have been different without him becoming a friggin refrigerator.

Sektor is the grandmaster of the Lin Kuei.
And if Cyrax's ending is canon, which it most likely is, then most of the Lin Kuei is dead.
I hate the Tekunin, it just makes Sektor even more irrelevant.

Honestly, I don't want Cyrax to join the Special Forces. He looks out of place imo. I'd like Cyrax to reprogram Cyber 0's body (he's a robot, he doesn't need his soul) to join him in taking back the Lin Kuei. They get it back and Sektor becomes a more Scorpion like character where he doesn't primarily focus on good or evil, just trying to kill a certain person.

I really hope that Subs stays a cyborg in MK10. Maybe he can be reverted back, but not yet. Doing so would show just how small NRS' balls are. They made a risky decision like this, and they need to stick with it. I'll lose a lot of respect for them if they pussy out of this. I'm a huge Sub-Zero fan, but it goes without saying that his story became very stale after MK4. This could revitalize him.

OMG! Thank you! This...

and the Sektor idea was pretty cool too, but it's done.. He's a cyborg now and they did it for a reason not to just piss of the Sub Zero fans. They even took the risk on doing it to one of their most Iconic characters.

Nope, You may not like Sub-Zero's story after MK4, but you can't say something like "it goes without saying." Many people think Sub-Zero had the best individual story of any of the characters and the best development overall. So, to say his story was stale is merely an opinion. Granted my opinion on it was that it was good, and I would like to see elements of it return.

Also, Cyber Subz is along the lines of Raptor Reptile, or Zombie Kang. They were both hated, and poof NRS made them disappear. The same thing needs to happen with Cyber Subz. Give us a good explanation for how he reverted and do it. He does not need to appear as only cyber in the next game. Especially since the next game probably won't be until 2015 and who knows when we will get a new one after that.

Raptor Reptile was specifically made for a reason though, it wasn't just some lame costume change. He was devolving to better show his transition to the Dragon King. Zombie Liu Kang is not the same as the others, because Zombie Liu Kang once again showed how weak the MK team was when they killed Liu Kang off the first time. He should not have been brought back so soon.

The way I see it, and I know you don't agree, Sub Zero needs to stay as a cyborg for MK10, so that fans don't whine about Frost playing like an Sub clone. The easiest way to ensure that their movelists are completely different is for one to be a cyborg. MK fans are WAY too reluctant to change. Mortal Kombat's storyline needs to evolve. If my favorite character Sektor was killed off, I wouldn't be mad as long as it was for a good reason and was portrayed properly. You guys treat Sub-Zero like he's your only son.

If anything I think that Sub-Zero needs to revert for the same reasons you mentioned he should stay a cyborg. Frost will play fast more like cyber subz. Sub-Zero is the tank between he and cyber subz, and I don't see Frost playing very bulky or defensive like Sub-Zero. So most likely Frost could easily take up the faster playstyle of Cyber Subz and everyone is good. Sub-Zero is back and you Frost fans get her. Also, Sub-Zero is treated like he's our only son because he's always been a part of MK. I don't want that changing now because of some dumb idea that shouldn't have been greenlit in the first place.

Like I said, I can deal with change. Just not bad change.

How is it a bad change? Ever since MK3 where it spoke of how Sub & Smoke escaped automation I had wondered what would have happened if they had gotten Subs instead. This change is not bad, he's been expanded upon. He is a deeper character because of this. And Sub-Zero should have never been a tank in the first place. He looks ridiculous in his MK9 wrestler stance.

Sub-Zero has been a slower character for the last several games, at least when compared to others. His stance is a bit ridiculous I will admit, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't have been a tank. I quite like his playstyle actually, although I could do without the ground ice he currently has.

Also, you may have wondered what would have happened to subz if he got automated, but that doesn't mean it should have happened. Smoke was always, and still is a side character. He had nothing to do, but become a cyborg. That became even more apparent when people realized his chapter could have been removed all together from MK9 because it really didn't accomplish anything. The lack of direction they have for Smoke is ridiculous. Sub-Zero still had things to do involving Quan Chi, and then going back to defeat Sektor. Smoke didn't.

Sub-Zero has not been expanded upon, more like he's been limited. Sub-Zero has had the most change appearance wise over the years. The basic ninja, the maskless attire, the old man, the shredder attire. He's constantly changing. We all know the cyborgs rarely change. Besides MK9 cyrax and sektor never looked drastically different from their attire in MK3, and they probably won't look too different from their MK9 attire from here on out. The cyborgs just don't change.

Also, he basically took the storyline from Cyrax in that he was okay with being cyber and now he would forge his own destiny.

People have discussed it before. There aren't exactly many routes you can go with being a cyborg.

Sektor- evil and wanted to be a cyborg. He loves being mechanical, it's what he desired.
Cyrax - hates the decision to become a cyborg, but he deals with it and decides to forge his own destiny becoming a member of the OIA.
Smoke - Forced to become a cyborg and wants it to be reverted.

So really he was like a mix of Cyrax and Smoke in that he was forced to become a cyborg and now he just decides to deal with it and forge his own destiny. Wait, we still have cyrax though. So what the hell is Cyber Subz needed for anyway?

Doing so would also mean that you take the risk of a LOT of people not buying the game, myself included.
They'll lose money by not putting a human version of Sub Zero in MK10.
I'll also lose a lot of respect for NRS if they do this to one of the most beloved, iconic MK characters of all time.

I agree with bbblp, NRS needs to finish what they started with Cyber Sub Zero and not chicken out. I'm sure they had other plans for him than just creating a mere 'shock value' with him. Let him revert to human whenever, but only after we get a satisfactory development and completion with the cyborg story arc.

Also in the MK9 story mode, though Sindel's mass killing of majority of the characters seemed to be a rushed and bad idea, I think it would have been redeemable if Cyber Sub, Smoke and Stryker survived the ordeal. these characters had immense potential to be developed into the story of MK10, had they been alive.

Slower character?
In which games? The guy was a speed demon in MKvsDC with his teleport.
MK4-A were incredibly simple games, everyone had the same speed in them.

Smoke as a cyborg was used as a weapon by Noob Saibot. Now what that means for Cyber has yet to be determined.
Being the latest cyborg he could have some insane Lin Kuei tech that multiple factions are trying to get their hands on.
I feel as if NRS really dropped the ball when they killed off a good 40% of the cast in story mode. Such a great chance for development and new twists just flushed down the toilet. We finally got to see how Kabal became the freak we know and love, then he gets killed in the next chapter. It was stupid to say the least. That being said I cannot tell you what use Smoke could have as a human since he is now dead.

Sub Zero may change his appearance, but it doesn't change the fact that when Scorpion turned his attention to Quan Chi and Ketchup & Mustard went MIA he lost a lot of relevance. His story turned into him flirting around with the lesser known characters (Frost, Kenshi, Hotaru).

As I said, Cyber 0's body can be used for a plethora of purposes. The only question is who is going to reactivate him?

To hell with Cyber Sub-Zero.
I'm kind of glad that it happened that way.
Him being dead means that he has a chance of coming back human. ;-)
