Your wishlist for MK10

I have no problem with it, as long as they are kept off the main roster (unlockable or DLC).

The main roster should only be reserved for Mortal Kombat characters.
 
They aren't going to do that. Guest characters are a selling point.

And I am looking forward to the trailers for the guests, that will be smack dab there on the main roster :love:

It's bs that Kratos gets treated like royalty. Why can't I slam a trophy in between the halves of his skull? It's like Sony thinks he's better than the MK kharacters he shares the game with. They're hundreds of times better than that POS will ever be.
 
Kratos was practically made for Mortal Kombat. He fits in in every way. It's just the special treatment he got was insulting. Especially the Twitter post Jaffe made about Kratos fvcking Kitana and Sonya.
 
I'm mixed about guests. Sometimes I don't want them (If they suck), and if the guest kharacters are good picks, I want them. It all depends on who it is. Freddy, I'm good with him, but I just don't like MK Kratos' royalty treatment. If they would have done it right, maybe I wouldn't hate him.

Exactly my point.
If he's in MK, then he should get killed like everyone else in MK.
Don't expect this treatment to be any different for any other possible Sony or MS guest characters.
Once the flood-gate is open, Sony and MS will demand that all guest characters get the Kratos special treatment from NRS.

Guests can be an unlockable selling point.
This is MK, and the MK characters deserve roster slots ahead of anyone else.
Also, if Sub-Zero doesn't get a main roster slot in the next MK (one of the biggest MK icons), then a guest character sure as hell doesn't deserve it either.

I think the Kratos thing had more to do with Jaffe's ego than Sony's decision.


Nah, guests are to get the attention of casual players. Casual players don't like unlocking shit. They just want to play as a cool character. Also keep in mind that Kratos being in MK9 didn't affect Rain being in MK9. The story was already drawn out and planned. They didn't scrap Rain from the story to put Kratos on one console. Guests always come after the main roster, or at the very least, after the story is drafted. Meaning Rain was never planned to be on the initial roster.

No Scorpion on the main roster and/or no Sub-Zero on the main roster = no Mortal Kombat

I hate guest kharacters a lot. MK is MK, and it should stay that way. Kratos was lame and I thought Krueger was even lamer. The good thing was I wasn't forced to have Freddy. If they insist on guest kharacters then make them DLC.
 
I like guest characters, but I'd rather have that slot for a true MK character.

I think Kai could be a really awesome character. I loved his fireballs as well as his overall look. but I like his MK4 look, not the MKA look.

Yea, it did affect Rain not being on the roster.
Just because he didn't play a major role in the story, doesn't mean that Rain can't be on the main roster. I give you Kratos.
Plus, Rain is an UMK3 character.
He belongs on that main roster, just like everyone else.
Also, Kratos being a selling point for the non-MK casuals / God Of War fans and Rain being kept off of the main roster to make money off of MK1 thru UMK3 purists, are 2 different things.
 
Lol, @TimeofTheChimps, I get that you love Frost and everything, but unless she gets a reasonable/believable revamp, all I'm going to believe is that she's a Female Sub-Zero and a waste of a character slot.

Guest Characters should definitely be DLC, due to the fact that I'm resigned to accept them as a marketing strategy, but please keep them off the main roster. If anything, use them as an incentive for pre-orders, such as players who pre-order get early access to "insert Guest Character here", or they get the character for free.

Point taken, however I'm thinking in terms of effect on gameplay. Sure Shang and Liu both use fire, but they're damaging moves, in the same way as Johnny Cage throws his energy ball. I just don't think two characters should have the same effect that are unique to them, such as Sub-Zero's freezing ability and Scorpion's spear, which both have different, unique effects, when compared to Liu's Fireball or Cage's Energy Ball.

I understand your point Taj, but Frost would still be a good character to include. and if she got a revamp, a GREAT character. Just look at how they remade Noob in MK9. They made him awesome when he was just "okay" before.
 
MK fans are the only ones who complain about clones.

SF has Shotos, Tekken has Mishimas, Smash has Star Fox etc.


You guys don't understand that you are killing MK. When you bich about special moves, the MK team has to use every ounce of their creativity when they make a new character. Sometimes it's great and it leads to Havik, but most of the time it's terrible and it leads to Darrius. All because characters can't have similar moves. COMPLETELY DISREGARD the fact that Frost looks different, sounds different, plays differently, has a different story, different fatalites and different normals. She shoots ice so she is a clone.


The logic is straight lulz

That's the point that Taj and I were BOTH trying to make before.
Revamped Frost would be fine.

A better comparison than Noob would be the previous Ermac and Kenshi telekinetic similarities, and how MK9 made them so different from each other, and how they are that much better now.
