Someone explain to me how Quan Chi ressurection thing works ?

Are the undead mk warriors souless and if so then who has their soul ?

Can he make them come back as undead warrior once they die at any time even if they return to normal again ?

How did Johnny cage and Sonya get so good that they can fight against 2 combatants at the same time and win. They were basically taking on all the other good guys by themselves+bad guys they normall contend with.

When a person dies, his/her soul leaves the body. If there's darkness in that soul, it will end up in the Netherrealm. However, due to Quan Chi's deal with Shao Kahn, he somehow has first priority over the souls of those who fought in MK9. How they did that is a bit blurry though.

However, once Quan Chi has his hands on the soul, he can recreate its body. Along with using some dark magic, the new body and the soul is manipulated to do Quan Chi's bidding.

In Sonya's chapter we see him try to do this to Johnny. But as Raiden tries to stop it, his magic mixed with Quan Chi's magic somehow reversed the spell and thus freed the revenants that were nearby, in this case Jax, Sub-Zero and Scorpion, reviving them to their normal human selves.

It's confusing, but that's basically how it works.

So shouldn't Scorpion killing quan chi break the spell ?

It did break the spell but it didn't erase the corruption. Only Quan Chi could do that. So while they have free will now they're still corrupted.

I would love an all encompasing, coherent and cohesive storyline! There are many plotholes and contradictions between all the instalments of the franchise... And many many things left unresolved...

I would urge all and any of you guys to tweet Netherrealm and Kittelsen with #Kombatkast asking questions about an MK Encyclopedia.

Yes. This is something that is needed pretty badly, especially now that two timelines have been firmly estabished.

Oh shit, I hadn't even thought of that. Do you think it would be possible that they would announce this today?
