So far here are the possibilities for me...

1. Cassie

2. D'Vorah

Ferra/Torr is an honorable mention because of the uniqueness and fatality.

Current line up?

1 - Sub Zero
2 - Cassie Cage
3 - A robot character (There's going to be one. They didn't all die)

Kotal Kahn is an honorable mention. By the looks of his gameplay though, he ain't my style. Love his design though.
 
I'm really surprised by the success of Cassie here...

For me, my first main will remain Sub-Zero : he looks so damn cool in MKX ! A real bad-ass !

Then D'Vorah, and any Black Dragon member (if there is one... perhaps they didn't survive !)
 
Grand Master Sub-Zero.
Look at how he can control the space and opponent's options, interactables,... with ice clone.

Thus far, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Cassie. In Cassie's case, it will likely be for reasons similar to maining Jin in Tekken 3.

All the Ninjas like Scorpion, Sub Zero, Noob, Reptile, Ermac and Smoke. I'm pretty sure all those ninjas will return.
 
You can't accurately answer a question like this when such a tiny fraction of the roster has been revealed, and even then, you can't make that kind of determination without actually playing the game. At this point you're just picking favorites. To decide who you are going to main, you need to actually be able to play and experience the characters. My favorite characters are Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Kano, Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, and Kung Lao. None of them were my main for MK9.

We'll see when the game is out.

When they announced hawkgirl for injustice i knew i would main her. i feel its not just what the character can do, if you want to put the time and effort into maining someone you can always learn to be good with them.

and I like Ferra/Torr, but always sub-zero and noob. If nightwolf comes back also worth checking out. i have too many favorites, cant pick one

To each his own.

I've been maining Sub-Zero since MK1, and I knew that I'd main him again in MK9, even when MK9 had just debuted at E3 2010.
I'm picking Sub-Zero up again in MKX, and I plan to master all 3 of his variations, given that 1 of them is similar to his MK9 zoning style.
