Who do you want for Kombat Pack 3?

I don't see why Triborg wouldn't be canon. He doesn't really contradict anything. Lin Kuei probably had Smoke's specs for cyberization long before they tried to turn him

1) Cyber Smoke never existed in the current timeline.
2) Sektor is literally spare parts
3) Cyrax likely suffered the same fate
4) Kuai Liang was decyberized by Quan Chi himself

Pretty much, this.
Also, as far as we know, nothing regarding MKX endings can be taken as either canon or-non-canon, at this time.

As for Triborg, remember the MK9 ending that had Shang Tsung being the good guy and stopping evil Liu Kang?
How did that pan out for MKX?

How did Baraka's ending pan out for MKX?
How did Jade's ending pan out for MKX?
How did Sindel's ending pan out for MKX?
How did Kabal's ending pan out for MKX?
How did Stryker's ending pan out for MKX?

If she is the woman in Jade's Mk9 ending or if she gets a better revamp, I'd be more interested in her. Still, I like her better than Frost.
I don't particularly like "Sub-Zero with two X chromosomes" (or the idea of an opposite gender copycat of a popular character for that matter), but she's a FAR better idea than that woman in Jade's ending.

If Ashrah is to come back, I would like to see a more demonic version of her since she is a demon after all. She could have been a cool character had she been executed better but of course, she really wasn't. I thought it was cool that despite her being a demon, she looks more angelic.

But seriously though, stray away from that god awful ending of Jade's from 2011. Such a goofy dumb ending for a character that really deserved better.

GUYS!.... There aint gonna be a Kombat Pack 3!.... if there was.... it would have been revealed at the end of Evo 2016 MKXL finals!..... im sad too..... :(

EB: Never planned it for EVO. But there is big MKXL news coming.

I hope the news is that they are dropping injustice 2, completely ignoring MKX like it never happened and making a true successor to MK9

Tbh it's probs just me being a nostalgic kid but I really wish rather than rebooting the timeline with MK9, NRS would have just remade MKDA from scratch and instead of MKX made MKD from scratch. But oh well the past is the past.

Sorry for the off topic bit lol, but if KP3 is a legit thing I think they should just have the pack comprise of whatever mix of cameos/npcs they want with zero guests and ideally a new arena too because ngl I love having lots of arenas. Though I keep feeling as though the team is mainly focused on Injustice for now so whatever we do get will be less "big" than the full fledged kombat packs. That is, if we're getting anything solid.

They aren't Sektor, Cyrax and co. Though. It's a being named Triborg that mimics them. He even refers to Sektor in the third person

Triborg isn't an ending though. He isn't a guest character either. As situational as he may be, he still exists within MK lore.

Skarlet wasn't a guest character, nor was she an ending, either.
Triborg exists within MK lore as a DLC character, but they may just decide to bring back some of the individual cyborgs separately in the next game, or perhaps none of them at all.
Perhaps Triborg or the other cyborgs will just be cameos in MK11.
As of now, he isn't canon to the MKX story.
He may or may not have anything to do with the next game's story.
That's my point.

Could they make him a canon story character for MK11? Yes.
They could have also made Skarlet into a canon MKX story character & playable character too, but they decided not to do that.
Right now, though, Triborg's ending is as canon to the MKX timeline as Baraka, Shang Tsung, Jade, Sindel, Styrker and Kabal's endings were in MK9
Triborg currently isn't canon, just like Baraka, Shang Tsung, Jade, Sindel, Styrker and Kabal's endings never ended up being canon.

As of now, Triborg could either be canon or non-canon, depending on whether NRS wants to bring him back for the next game.
It wouldn't be the first time that NRS does a "new" character for an MK game, then doesn't use them in future games (Skarlet).
Triborg is currently in limbo, as far as being canon or non-canon goes.

I thoroughly believe that Triborg wouldn't work without the Variation system. He was specifically made to have Sektor, Cyrax, Cyber Smoke and Cyber Sub-Zero in ONE character, and only worked because each Variation was one of those characters.

Making Triborg his own character outside the Variation system would be so incredibly tame, imo. I personally don't want Triborg to ever appear again. I want Sektor and Cyrax, not someone copying them.

Triborg was a means to an end. Nothing more.

Agreed.

Triborg, for me, just seemed like a way for NRS to give those that wanted the cyborgs those 3 (technically 4) characters.
People were annoyed that Sektor was killed, Cyrax went AWOL and Smoke was dead / a revenant, and all 3 weren't playable, so Triborg was the perfect way to appease the fans of all the characters.
Cyber Sub-Zero was a bonus for those that liked the character in MK9 and wanted to see him again.
Making them their own character within the variation system, imo, was a genius way for NRS to do that.
You have an all-in-one Taco Bell / Pizza Hut / KFC character on the roster, without having to waste 4 additional slots.
It's the same way that the Tarkatan variation was done for those that wanted Baraka, and Kitana's Mournful variation was done for Jade fans.

I am not sure what to think of anymore. I already said who I wanted in an earlier post but I am in doubt we will get any more characters and I believe we all just got Booned lol.
