What makes Cyber sub zero so bad?

I remember when it was "Oooo! New Cyber character!?" Now we get one it's " Damn you NRS!"

I love Cyber Sub Zero and it was interesting to have Smoke stay human and for CSZ to appear. Wouldn't it have been dull as hell to have the story stay the same? I'm willing to bet some of the same people would then be complaining about a story that had no real changes.

And about how Human Smoke is so much better than Cyber-Smoke and why the hell did NRS not make Smoke human? lol

Human Smoke is his own man, robo-Smoke is Noob Saibot's *****.

I actually like both as fighters. Story-wise I have some slight qualms with both. Cyber-Smoke never seemed to assert his own identity properly, but Human Smoke's speech rubbed me the wrong way. His voice was irksome and a lot of what he said kinda missed the mark, in my opinion.

Either way though, my previous point stands. It's odd seeing so many fans get so riled up because certain things didn't turn out to their preference. There's a helluva lot done well in this game, not everything can be perfect for everyone, sadly.

When I first saw Cyber Sub-Zero, he just seemed like a defensive/counter douche. I was surprised to see how fast and aggressive he turned out to be. His dive kicks and jail strings makes him a fearsome rushdown character.

It seems to me the Cybers ice freeze is sluggish and overall slower than it should be. The ice balls are really not useful at all. His teleport is the worst in the game, it's slow and people can see it coming. His fatalities are also among the worsts in the game.

He does have a cool grapple move, and a good X- Ray. But that's it. I am a huge SubZero fan and I was looking forward to playing with cyber more than anything in MK9. So disappointing. Given the hype around the character and that he was a hidden, he really should have been more unique as far as his moves go and the way he plays.

His Ice freeze is very effective at keeping combos alive so even though its slow, its pretty effective. His Ice balls comes useful for traps or making the opponent make mistakes trying to avoid it, since after all it is unblock-able on hit. I can see his teleport contributing to some shenanigans, a block jump punch can be cancelled to a teleport which ends him behind the opponent. I wouldn't want to use his teleport randomly or out in the open.

Like every special in this game ice balls no matter which subzero throws them have to be set up I prefer csz only because I played the demo to death and I like the speed increase

I don't think he's bad at all. He's got good combos, a tricky x-ray, a teleport, AND a parry which comes in great use for attack-happy opponents. IGNORE that abomination that Prima calls a strategy guide. That tier list is horse manure.

Aside from the obvious fact that his fatalities have been founding wanting I'm really happy with him. It is still kind of odd looking at the screen and seeing my favorite character in cyborg form after all these years of him as a human but it has definitely grown on me and atleast if I do start missing the human form its still available to me as well so it works

Cyber Sub is underrated, and unpopular, because of that awful guide Prima made. Putting it in the worst tier has really lowered my desire to play with it, as I thought those tiers were "real". Turns out they are not, would really like to see some tier made from tournament usages..

I think Cyber Sub is awesome as a concept and play-wise. Regular Sub-Zero sucks in my opinion. Outside of different combos, Cyber Sub does everything regular Sub does plus a ton!

They're both great. But just have different playstyles.

Sub-Zero is more of a defensive zoner that greatly has control of space and flow of the match.

Cyber-Sub is auto-pilot offense and relies mainly on his dive kicks. You don't see much high level players actually use any other special except the ice counter from time to time.

The ice counter sucks because it should just freeze them instead of having him slash them automatically. If that were how it worked, more people would like him.

I like Cyber Sub, but my only problem with him is how is X-Ray is delivered. I just don't like having to jump in the air to activate it.

He's not bad: a 50/50 mixup where you can only fuzzyguard the overhead, unblockable bombs to get people moving and shuts down zoners, a stun move (iceball) a low hitbox slide, a diveick where if the opponent blocks low it's safe, a safe EX divekick when on hit does a whopping 18% damage, pretty good damage, a parry move with near instant startup that is only beaten by pokes, a bomb trap, teleport, etc.

The only problem CSZ has is you need to have good timing and execution to pull off his bnb's and I always get accidental bombs when you want to do the 3,4/3,3,2 mixup

Also his moves look badass I've never seen a person do a jumping horizontal scissor kick that blasts the opponent all across the screen before.

That would be overpowered: EX iceparry does that. It's supposed to be a get off me move to escape from pressure and it can come out in a near instant. Getting frozen then potentially eating a 30%< combo just for trying to pressure him would be downright unfair.
