What DON'T you want to see in MK10?

Simple.
Because the storyline was in Tobias' hands up to MK3.
Then he left and MK became all kinds of wrong.

Who can NRS trade to Zynga to get Tobias back? Beran?

Nah, Beran is cool.
How about Boon?
I can't stand that guy.
I see him as the embodiment of everything stupid, loud and ridiculous in MK.
I wouldn't be surprised if Tobias had left when he saw this crap direction MK was being steered to.

I totally can see MK without Boon.
And I like what I see.
Granted, Boon probably programmed the engine in the first three games.
But now he's just an executive, and an old guy that has no clue about what made the first three games awesome.

I find him cringe-inducingly annoying to hear during the interviews.
Probably it's the "yeeknow" that he compulsively spouts after every other word.
Beran on the other hand is much easier on the ears.

Why the hell did the likes of SHEEVA survive ahead of proven fan favorites such as Jax?

Further proof that the MK1-UMK3 story was right the FIRST time...

Jax is a fan favorite? I almost never hear or read anything about him.

Sheeva surviving is hardly a big deal. She was a lackey character and I'll be surprised if we ever see her again.

Lets look at the other survivors :

Raiden - Classic MK character
Sonya - Classic MK character
Johnny - Classic MK character
Scorpion - Classic MK character and a huge fan favorite
Sub-Zero - Classic MK character and a huge fan favorite
Ermac - Classic MK character
Reptile - Classic MK character
Mileena - Classic MK character
Cyrax and Sektor - Classic MK characters
Kano - Classic MK character
Baraka - Classic MK character
Quan Chi - Probably the most popular of the post MK3 characters
All MK DLC characters also survived.

So what exactly is your problem? There were more survivors than losses. Are you just butt hurt over specific favorites dying? Cause if so, that's really pitiful. I lost at least three of my MK9 favorites. Just let it go, dude. This is Mortal Kombat. People gotta die.

They should have left the MK1-UMK3 story COMPLETELY alone...or at the very least stayed completely faithful to the original story as it was. It was perfect as it was. What transpired in MK9 was tantamount to going to Yankee Stadium and changing Babe Ruth's number.

Is it too much to ask for to stay faithful to the source?

Yeah, it is too much to ask... In a story that involves going back in time and CHANGING the future. Even then, it still stayed pretty true to the originals. The only big changes made to the story was Sindel's massacre (which was awesome, regardless of the character deaths), Kung Lao's death, Sub Zero being changed into a cyborg instead of Smoke, Kang dying sooner rather than later and Raiden finishing off Kahn at the end of MK3. But these are all the result of the timeline being changed - which is the point of the game.

MK's story didn't become golden until Deadly Alliance.
And Beran's music sucks ass now. It in no way fits in a fighting game. It's boring, dull and cheesy.

MK9's Armory music was sick, but that's where the props stop.

Yes, it is too much to ask, because, believe it or not, MK9 is not MK1-MK3. It is a different game. Unless you want the same shit to happen all the time, there must be divergence. Where's the fun in knowing exactly what's going to happen? MK9 could, no, scratch that, should have done it a lot better, but NRS made the right decision in changing things up.

Shit, I bet you spend so much time fantasising about the 'good old days.' Move on, you manchild.

Didn't Forden do the music for MK9?

Agreed.
I don't expect Sheeva to return either.
Yeah, I lost one of my mains in MK9 too (Nightwolf), but I don't expect him to return in MK X.
I don't want the same recycled stuff again.
If I wanted to do that, I'd just play MK1 thru UMK3 on my Sega Genesis, or play MK9 (the updated version of MK1 thru UMK3) on PS3.

I agree with this, minus the Sindel killing everybody scene.
Had the Mk warrior's deaths been spread out more throughout the story, I would have liked it better.
That Sindel scene, though, just screams of Vogel saying "OK, let's wrap this story shit up."
It felt lazy and rushed, thrown in at the last minute just to end it quickly.
The MK9 story started going down the tubes with weak story writing, for me, after Chapter 11.

Personnally, I love the scene where Sindel kills every hero. Because, it increase the guiltyness of Raiden.
If Raiden didn't have the flashback of Motaro killing Cage, he never kill Motaro and Sindel won't be send to his place, with the added powers of Shang Tsung.

This scene is the biggest change in the story, so is extremely necessary.

Sindel should have turned hero herself. That retcon was a major travesty.

It wasn't necessary, though, that's my point.
Characters dying off little by little, within the story, would have been better than just rushing it in the end.
It's lazy writing.

I think you're wrong. If characters dyed one by one, it implied Raiden make many errors. But if it was this way, Raiden would be a dumb.

It was necessary that about all heroes die simultaneously to force Raiden take the right way.

No.
Fighters dying over the course of the tournament is expected.
All those characters dying in 1 scene, to a bullshit type of Wonder Woman character is lazy writing.

It wasn't really a retcon. The timeline was altered as Katalina Caine said.

A retcon would be NRS changing Sub-Zero's origins to being abducted by the Lin Kuei, rather than joining to carry on his family's legacy as Lin Kuei Warriors.

I don't want to see a rushed story line/mode for the new fighters being introduced to the MK series. I'm all up for new characters added but their story needs to be told in a good way to where we can understand how they came about. I know some of us are not too happy with almost half the roster dead from MK9 but sometimes some fresh new blood can be a good thing coming in but like I mentioned, story needs to be told correctly.
