What do you don't like about the game?

Returning a item is getting a refund. The only way to return a game is to return it unopened for a full retail price return. Which would take the money away from NRS.

People giving up on the game after two weeks in none of their concern.

GameStop will give back $50 for an unopened brand new game and $45 of a $60 game if it's opened, so yes, either way it still screws NRS over because they're not getting the full value of what the game was supposed to sell for and GameStop gets to sell it again.

It IS their concern.
Hence why Mortal Kombat has an online pass and DLC, for NRS to recoup the money lost from reselling the game, which GameStop always does.

Edit: Well, clearly I don't shop Gamestop much if they give 45 back for an opened 60 buck game. Thought it was just store credit.

It's still screwing NRS over if people get a majority of that money back, whether that means via store credit or any other means.
With Store credit you can still buy a Live or PSN card and spend that money elsewhere.

Yes, if you buy a new game and go sell it to gamestop for $50, NRS still got the $60 retail price for the game. Gamestop is giving you money out of THEIR pocket for your copy of the game. And you can only use that money in gamestop, so gamestop is going to get it back. The only person who loses anything is you.

The only thing NeterRealm loses on is the resale of the used copy.

NRS sole concern is getting as many people to buy in as possible. Once a new copy is purchased NRS has theirs. What happens to that copy after that, again, is none of their concern.

If that was the case then they wouldn't have online passes for used copies (like they do) to recoup that used game loss, which IS their concern.
Developers don't want their game being sold over and over again.

No it doesnt. It does not affect NRS AT ALL.

Gamestop isnt giving them NRS's money. They are giving them their own money. Gamestop orders copies of the game which the publisher is paid for in advance. Sell through is important because it drives re-orders of the title across all retail channels, not just gamestop. They want as many people to buy it at launch as possible. Hence, why it gets marketed to casuals. If you sell through 10 million copies in the first three months, WB and NRS got theirs, the money is in their bank. What happens to those copies after that initial sale means nothing to them.

DLC is a way to keep money flowing after the initial rush on the title.

The used game market isnt new. Its not some surprise, measure like online passes are just publishers trying to get a piece of the used game pie.

But at this point you are just molding your argument into something different to try and be right. Your original point was incorrect. NRS loses nothing when some dumbass plays the game they paid full retail for two weeks and then sells it to gamestop. They already have that $60 and no one is taking it away from them.

Commander: Which works for me since I like to shop digitally. I can't remember the last time I had to return a game. I rather know my game will be forever saved in eternal mint condition than risk my discs taking any beatings overtime(there are many scenarios I can list) or stolen(32 of my PS3 games got stolen last year).

That's awesome, and to each his own. ;)

I, personally, don't care to buy digitally.
I like having the box art, and something to put in my library of games, up on my shelf.
I've never had any of my games stolen *knock on wood,* and when devs can figure out how to shrink the game size so that 24+ games doesn't fill up your system or until I get a bigger PS4 disc drive, then I won't go digital.
If I'm getting a game for $60, I want to have the disc, box and whatever art it comes with.
MKX is my exception as far as box art goes, since I'll likely swap it out with another picture, but normally I only buy 2 or 3 games per year, and when I do buy those games they're games like Dishonored, MGS or Mortal Kombat, which I'm fanatical over and all of which I have pre-ordered.

I normally don't play with the girls in MK ;D BUT I do have to say something I would not say on MKO because I would probably get shit because most people there are internet badasses! The thing is we need more vagina in this game, I dont want to sound rude imho I wouldn't mind seeing some more chicks appear.
This doesn't mean cyrax needs to be replaced mind you.

"Badasses". They like to think they are. :P

I agree though, there aren't enough female presence in the game so far.

On the PS4, you can just have the games take shelf in the Library. That way, you won't have 24+ games downloaded taking up your Hard Drive. Then you can just delete games you don't play much anymore, and redownload it whenever you want to pick it back up. No worry about losing a game to a full drive. Commander

I'm doing that with Far Cry 4 and MGS: GZ.
(I got Far Cry 4 for free with the PS4, and Ground Zeroes was on sale on PSN for $6.80, which is $1.80 more than I would have preferred to pay for it. lol)
I want to free up those 27 Gigs for my physical MKX copy and all the DLC coming along with it. :)

Anyways, I just prefer having physical media and being able to see my games in my bookshelf.
Having it on the PS4 vs collecting the physical games and box art =/= the same, to me.

And I respect that.

The last game I bought physically was Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix when it dropped last February. I usually go out to pick up games during the Summer, but I was without a system from May to December.

I think you have that backwards.
The people who they are marketing to are the casuals and the people who used to be hardcore MK fans back in the 90s (which are sometimes one in the same), who fell out with the series when it went 3D and have become more of the CoD / Battlefield players these days, which there are a lot of.
These are the same people who will quit MKX after 1 or 2 weeks after the game comes out because they couldn't stop rage-quitting after having their asses handed to them so many times online.
It's ridiculous that NRS is marketing to these people, given that they will likely return the game anyways, whereas the the majority of the hardcore fans (Tarkatan, ujustgotcaged and dp spandisk aside) are the ones who want to see the series evolve beyond the same tired and repetitive roster.

Consistency is more valuable than evolution.

Well, then, you can hunt for your food and continue walking long distances for hours just to get somewhere.
Meanwhile, I will go to the grocery store and get my food, and get around within minutes just using my car.
Enjoy not being evolved. :-D

That's basically how, we, retro gamers usually work ;) I refuse to buy or play download games for the most part.

Now, how cool is to have console version of every MK game throughout its history in your bookshelf? ;)

My only gripes-

The new characters. Kotal and Cassie aside, just about all the new characters reveled so far have been meh as far as I'm concerned.

And NRS' striving for dark and gritty "realism" in MKX regarding the females is also kinda bothersome, there's nothing wrong with "dark and gritty" but the "realism" BS needs to stop. This is a fantasy game, not a sim.

What SHOULD they do then? Do you have an example? Cause I'm not sure what you mean. Got a picture? Even the male characters' costumes are toned down and less extravagant. Scorpion for example doesn't look like a midieval knight. Sooo... how are they doing wrong if this treatment is going across all characters? Why are the females significant in this case?
