What do you don't like about the game?

I don't think MK's mechanics are unncessarily complicated. Honestly I find the dial a combo system makes it the easiest fighting game to pick up and play, especially for a beginner.

Played MK first than other fighting games on the same style.

I love block button, I find it way better, and I hate back to block.

Though MK started on arcades too, I think the commands are way too easier and the combos are on rythm.

I hate games where comands are not like "back back" "back forward" "down forward" "down back" (you know MK style), but are strange movements on analogics (Z shapes, half squares, charges, everything you see on SF) that require you to master the controller, not the game itself.

But I recognize it's a matter of pratice. Anyway, I find no interest on mastering this, besides the fact that my little experience makes less interesting and more difficult.

Damn. Thanks for presenting me with a well thought out response. I agree with just about all your points. I couldn't care less about the ratio of female:male as long as the characters are well designed. But you're right on just about everything. To be fair about the collector's editions -- Scorpion is the iconic one. Hell, he's NRS' logo. It's not surprising to me that htey used him. But I agree with you, nonetheless.

I beg to differ...

And how many of those do you think just tuned in to see what fatalities were going to be shown as opposed to those who wanted to see in-depth explanations of gameplay? haha

A bit differently.

I agree with most of your points, except for 7, 8 and 11.

7) Returning stages.
Returning stages aren't as important to me for the same reason that returning characters aren't as important to me.
MKX is supposed to be a new game with new characters, not the same old repeated stuff.
Just my $0.02.
That said, my disagreement with you on #7 is the very reason why I also agree with you so strongly on points #3 and #4. ;)

8 ) More story details.
In all honesty, I don't want more story details.
I want to experience the majority of the story, first-hand, when I play through MKX Story Mode.

11) More info on other versions.
As much as I feel you those who plan to get the game on PS3 and 360, I also understand where NRS is coming from, from a business point of view.
If the superior version is the PS4 and X1 version, then they will show those version off, as they show the game at it's highest quality.
PC is probably vastly more superior graphics and detail-wise, but many more people will likely play MKX on consoles over PC.
Again, I do understand the frustration of people getting those different versions, but in all fairness, they aren't even working on those versions (High Voltage is porting those versions), so how can they determine the quality of something that they aren't working on?

Its astounding to me how many people seem to want them to just keep making the same game over and over.

If you want to play as all the MK1-3 characters and those stages play MK9.

I couldn't have said this better.
I wish I had "Thanks" to give you. :top:

1) The lack of 3D era characters so far it looks like that only Kenshi and Quan Chi get love from Mr.Troll uhm Boon...

2) Sonya and Jax in the game, while I can see why Sonya is there, I think of the dead characters Jax could sit this one out and give characters like Tanya, Fujin and Reiko a chance.

3) NO team-up mode.

4) No Rain

5) Some characters getting moves from others, like Jade/Kitana, this is just another Kira-thing. And also Kabal's move being used by Kung lao...

6) Some uninspired intro-talks bothered me, but i'm happy enough that they did this! Hope they aren't all that pathetic and boring though.

7) Only 24 characters seems a bit low.

8) Too much relatives would be overkill for me, hope only to see Cassie + Jacqui, the others like Kung Jin and Takeda are bad nightmares for me, especially when they are in together with their parents like Sonya and Cassie already are.

9) Not really against the game but more about the fans, I hate it that when a ninja is shown and they don't look like a total scorpion clone that people actually go beserk over it... why do some people keep hanging in the boring past? THIS! IS! 2015! Suck it up or do a Hari Kiri... no more clone ninja's!

There is probably more, but dunno at the moment.

^^^^^^ I dont why ppl like that kharacter so much, the only Rain I like is from "Ninja Assassin"

I wanted jade to be in cause she's a great kharacter if not then I would've liked to see a New kharacter who had the staff for a weapon.
its cool that kitana is honoring jade but the thing is that is only for one variation. it would be better if a new kharacter had that weapon.

Please don't be a I-hate-Rain-because-he's-purple-so-he-must-be-gay type of guy! ANd hate him for other reasons.

I like Rain because he's a male edenian, he's vain and he has water-abilities. He has BIG story potential next to Kitana, Mileena, Tanya and Reiko, unlike many others...

I pretty much agree with all this.
I would love to see him and Kitana fight over who should rule Edenia, Rain having Mileena's and Reiko's support while Kitana has Earthrealm's support. Maybe make it into a civil war.

I'd rather seen Rain in the comics/game next to Mileena than Reiko, I think Reiko suits more with Quan Chi or Tanya, and Rain being more the type that would seduce Mileena to gain her throne.

3 fighting styles per character.
Why?
1) Because it limits the roster - characters who had like 3 special moves in their entire lifespan (like Sektor or Tanya) can't fit in 3 fighting styles with 5-6 specials each out of the blue, so you either come up with alot of new stuff (which is not always the case), drop the character alltogether, or you give him some other characters' specials (Kitana is a perfect example of it - she stole Jade's and Skarlet's specials)
2) Some variations feel very bland (this purple Quan Chi's version for example)
3) It forces NRS to bring in the well developed characters (you know the ones who already was in MK9) back in the game, because this is way easier to expand Jax than Shinnok -> leads to plotholes and excuses in story.
4) what next? I mean in MK11.Will they come up with 5 fighting styles or something? They will probably use like 90% of all characters who can handle 3 styles in MKX, giving them specials from other ones (less popular), so in MK11 they will give us nearly the same roster with slightly different variations.

Shao Kahn had several generals and people who worked under him. Mileena could have both Reiko and Rain as her subordinates. But Rain has no claim on the Outworld throne, and there are already so many who wants it, so having Rain do the same just seems lazy. Hence why I'd rather NRS kept exploring the opportunities with Edenia, Rain's ties with Edenian deities and have him fight Kitana for the throne.

If they were marketing purely towards the casuals we wouldn't have a comic series, Kollector's editions or gameplay streams.

The comics which starred Scorpion for the first 3 issues, the Kollector's Editions which only have Scorpion and the gameplay streams which feature Kung Lao, Ermac, Reptile and Kitana?

Yup.
Totally not pandering to the casuals.
/ sarcasm

its marketed towards hardcore more I belive, because mk in the 90's was very popular so the hardcore fan base is huge.
they brought it back to 2d format yes because it plays better but also cause the knew they lost a lot of their fans. the 3d mk's felt like a different game altogether.
the fact that mk is the only franchise with finishing moves this gory makes it stand out, that alone atracts casuals. violence sells just as good as sex.
casuals dont care about kharacters like jax but he's a big part of that nostalgia and thats katering to hardcore fans.

look at "get rich or die trying" that album was so hardcore and it still went diamond but it was so good that it became mainstream. now he's part of corporate america.

I think you have that backwards.
The people who they are marketing to are the casuals and the people who used to be hardcore MK fans back in the 90s (which are sometimes one in the same), who fell out with the series when it went 3D and have become more of the CoD / Battlefield players these days, which there are a lot of.
These are the same people who will quit MKX after 1 or 2 weeks after the game comes out because they couldn't stop rage-quitting after having their asses handed to them so many times online.
It's ridiculous that NRS is marketing to these people, given that they will likely return the game anyways, whereas the the majority of the hardcore fans (Tarkatan, ujustgotcaged and dp spandisk aside) are the ones who want to see the series evolve beyond the same tired and repetitive roster.

In my experience, in the US, you cant return opened games. If there is something wrong with it, they will exchange it. Most retail establishments I have encountered will open the new copy before you leave the store to prevent you from trying to return it.

You cant return digital copies either.

Because people liked his moves in UMK3, a liked using the character.
Plain and simple.
The Water Bubble, Full-screen Roundhouse and Lightning move were excellent pop-up moves that were great to set up long combo strings.
It's even better in MK9, if you know how to use the character properly. ;)

Huh?
GameStop will always take peoples games back for a lower price, and so will Best Buy.
I don't know where these "stores" are, which you speak of, in which games can't be returned.

Thats not the same as returning it.

If they sell 5 million copies and 1 million sell it back to Gamestop. NRS still sold 5 Million copies. They don't care if these people sell it back to gamestop. Their coffers stay full.

Returning a item is getting a refund. The only way to return a game is to return it unopened for a full retail price return. Which would take the money away from NRS.

People giving up on the game after two weeks in none of their concern.
