What character surprised/disappointed you?

Bigget surprises for me are Sonya and Goro. Sonya covert ops has both easy beautiful and strrong combos. Really feeling her. And she jas the parries and xray which are a delight to master. I also managed to accidently pull the x ray brutality of hers off. On Kano no less. It was awesome.

Goro juzt feels fast and natural with the dragon claws. I expected to hate him but I enjoy him.

Takeda diszapoints me. Wanted to main him but he does not feel right.

Liu Kang has been the only guy I've used properly, though I've not worked out a decent combo!

Bit odd as I've never been a Liu Kang guy and I've been a fan since MK1 (Johnny cage for the first 3 games!)

Ass' Kitanta is nice in design (can't see her face... lol) and has a decent move set. Never used her in an MK game before, but she's good here... even if mostly in a faute de mieux.

K' Goro is okay and I will alternate between he and the aforementioned. But he feels weak, overly damage scaled and far too fast for a character of his stature. I'd have much rathered a slow, lumbering behemoth (even if low tier) than the punch machine he is here.

My favorite so far is erron black, his combos came very naturally for me. Raiden is a close second (if not actual fav), but i've always loved his play style.

I couldn't figure out kotal, didn't give him much of a chance before moving on - there are too many other characters/variations i would like to play with. Scorpions ninjitsu is real fun, lots of juggling

Honestly, kitana. I never cared for her but I've now a new found love for her. She's joined shinnok, kenshi, Jacqui, and kotal as my mains. All four of whom I knew I was going to love.

The character who most dissapointed me is kung Jin. He's still fun to play and I like him overall as a character but the reason I wanted to play him didn't hold up.

Everyone else has been exactly how I thought they'd be and I love it

Surprising: Erron Black is incredibly fun to use, and his entrance quotes are always great.

Disappointing: As much as I love Cassie as a character, I don't really enjoy how she plays.

I'm really disappointed in reptile. his main strength was that he was a mixture of slight zoning and slight rush. But his dash and slide feel sluggish and stiff now. So now he's just a meh rush and slight zoning, which cripples him.

Surprising: Takeda. His Lasher variation is my new main. And Jax too. LOVE the Heavy Weapons variation.

Disappointed: Reptile.. man he was the MAN in MK9. Really not that great now.

Really? I love Reppers in X. What puts you off?

I found Kotal Kahn's Sun God variation to be incredibly boring. Kung Jin is one of my favourites. Really didn't think he would be.

Surprising: Cassie Cage. I LOVE her style, especially her Hollywood variation. i love doing combos that finish with her using the air akimbos. so stylish. also made a very nice xray combo with her (her xray is awesome too). shes just too fun to play as.

Disappointing: No ones really disappointed me yet.. they really did a good job of making everyone fun to use and i havent really had a chance to get my hands on everyone yet.. but i did expect Shirai Ryu Takeda to play better so maybe him

Surprised: I expected to play Cassie in Hollywood, but the second I tried out Brawler I never went back. Some launch combos, add a run, another combo, then end it in a tackle. So much fun.

Disappointed: Kung Lao. I have played Kung Lao since pretty much MKII, and I have no idea WTF NRS did to him, but he's far from being as fun as he used to be. I just couldn't get to it.

Surprised: Kung Jin and Jacqui. Only played a little with them, but I really like them. Kung Jin's got nice range, and Jacqui is really fast and brutal.

Dissappointed: No one really... Well, I could say Kotal, for the same reasons everyone said, but I was kinda expecting that already. And maybe Takeda, though I haven't played enough with him yet. His gameplay looked so awesome but I couldn't pull off almost anything in the little I played with him in story.

Disappointing- Cassie. I absolutely love her as a character. Heck I named my new husky after her lol but I'm not in love with her play style. She has decent combos, but I don't like any of her specials besides nut punch and I'm always getting zoned out when I play as her.

Surprise- probably Goro. He is much faster than I anticipated, has great specials, and is just fun to play.

Surprises -Jax. His heavy weapons variation is amazing

Cassie - my new waifu. Love her brawler variation

Disappointments - Mileena. She was my main in MK9. I hate all of her play styles and variations for MKX

I'd say the biggest surprise characters are those dang spiders...guh.

Everytime- especially playing with headphones in the dark.

I was surprised enjoy Hollywood Cassie (ding! dong!), Takeda and Kung Jin. A little disappointed with Kotal. Plays like a brick to me, but I guess I just need more practice.

Surprises: I did NOT expect to like Jacqueline Briggs at all. She seemed like a filler character devoid of any interesting aspects. But after playing her, holy moly she can kombo! Easily my newest main. Was also pleasantly surprised by Kung Jin and D'Vorah. I just beat the campaign so I haven't tried many of the other characters yet.

Disappointments: As much as it pains me to admit it, Ferra/Torr simply didn't match my playing style. They're hands down my favourite character in terms of design, dialogue, and overall interesting factors. But when playing them, they definitely do not have speed on their side. Also I was disappointed how they were portrayed in the story. They're such an interesting duo who need to have their backstory unearthed, but instead they were portrayed as grunt fighters who popped up alongside Kotal whenever it was convenient.

The beauty of mortal kombat is any character can be learned. for me, when i asthetically like a character, i force myself to learn how to fight with them, just have to put in the extra time before jumping to online and getting whoooooooped

Shockingly enjoyed D'vorah - thought i'd hate her

Upset with Kung Lao, but its only been a week, so i still have faith i'll figure him out

I expected D'Vorah to be great, and I expected to be able to use her well. But I'm surprised that I mained Kano along with her. I thought I would main Johnny, but he doesn't appeal to me like I thought he would. My 3 mains now are D'Vorah, Kano, and Ferra/Torr, 2 of which were unexpected.

I honestly didn't think I would be able to fight with Ferra/Torr, but I was wrong.
