What are your thoughts on eating meat?

I recognize that it's morally unjust, but I eat it anyway. I wouldn't flinch at eating a human being either.

You do understand that morality is subjective, right?

And I wouldn't eat human flesh unless it were absolutely necessary to survive. That's just ****ing gross.

deep down you enjoy human suffering as much as anyone else... it's in our nature to be entertrained by such things (probably why lots of people enjoy extreme gore in media, such as games and movies) another reason why most people watch the news because people like to hear about human suffering... at first you'd probably be like "aww i feel bad" but deep down most people like the kinda thing..

Holy crap this thread just took a nose dive into the Hades of illogic. There's a HUGE difference between real-life violence and simulated violence in a video game. To even imagine they're comparable is asinine.

Considering back in Rome that the arena was the highest form of entertainment, and today violent video games are the highest form of entertainment [followed shortly by movies]

I can see a deep base comparison. Violence is a part of human nature regardless of how it appears.

I LOVE meat.
Especially now, in the summer time, I LOVE cooking some steaks on the grill with mashed potato.

I'm a carnivore, and I love it.

Seeing the beef hanging in the window of Fuddrucker's doesn't bother me.
Actually, it let's me know that the beef is 100% grade A. ;-)
There's nothing like a good Fuddrucker's burger and a Root Beer on a hot summer day.

I've been a vegetarian my entire life because my parents were but I don't have any problems with other people doing it, I just don't want to.

I don't think it's unjust. Do people yell at cats when they eat a bird? (Well, probably yeah when they F***ING PUKE IT UP ON YOUR DOORSTEP!!!!!!) It's human nature. Plus I'm the main grillah in my house so BRING ON TEH MEAT!

I don't agree with how we obtain said "meat" but then again I try not to think about it. I've cut down majorly compared to the amounts I used to eat. Plain and simple it tastes good and has the protein I need to rebuild muscle after working out :P.

The way i look at it is that its a dog eat dog world.... with that said if all we had to eat for survival was meat im sure you would too despite what you saying now
Hmmm 12oz Sirloin Steak VS Garden Salad.... I'd take that over a salad any day

Killing animals for food is natural in my opinion, just like other predatory animals in the wild do so as well. Killing for fun like hunting however is morally unacceptable and should be banned in every country. Although I do think there's nothing wrong with eating meat, human's are seemingly over consuming earths resources so I understand those saying that animals should be protected a bit more since they run the risk of being over consumed and extinction. For example at the rate fishing is carried out today, Tuna is set to be extinct within 10 years (or less, I watched it in a documentary don't remember the amount for sure).
