Tryning to guess who will be the final boss...

A creature that isnt Shao Kahn, but it's composed for him + something that isnt Darkseid, wasn't in the last game. What I meant it's the conception of a new villain someway formed by Kahn, you know. Not exactly Kahn + Darkseid, but something close to Dark Kahn from MK Vs DC.

About Shinnok, he is my favorite villain, I'd love to see him returning, but it would not be a surprise because of the last game.

To the first part, I have no idea what any of that means. I'm a Mortal Kombat novice when it comes to the deep story details (I'm all about gameplay, etc). I'm pretty much speculating on nothing, ha.
 
The majority of MKfans(aside from the hardcores like us) would be shocked if the BIG BAD villain of MKX was MK's Primary Hero.
I do believe it will be Kang...

While Many may expect kang to return...sho nuff( possibly alittle pissed)...They would not expect him as the 'BIG BAD BOSS' imo.

That would shock more people than it being an Evil Raiden... ah see what I did there...'shock' 'Raiden' huh? huh? meh... <_<
 
I think the final boss is going to be Liu Kang. He gets resurrected by Shinnok and Quan Chi after the events of MK9 and they corrupt him into fighting against earthrealm
 
If it had to be a former boss, I'd say Onaga, because most of the other bosses who aren't Moloch and Motaro HAVE been seen recently and would not really be a surprise, except like "I'm surprised the Boss is Shao Khan again!". Except Fujin I guess, who was technically a boss in MK: Mythologies, and a bit character in MK4. They wanted him to replace Raiden, but that can't happen.

The odds are good it's Reiko, in my opinion.
 
It's 25 years in the future.. so.. Kid Thunder? That would be a fun surprise. Maybe he resents earth realm because his dad wasted his entire life protecting the humans so he takes his revenge.. Just a thought.
 
We have to take into account the fact that Ed and NRS are trying to cater towards the general audience so anything they say that will be "Surprising" and "Shocking" is probably geared toward that specific audience whereas WE as huge hardcore fans of the series and lore are gonna see it coming a mile away.

With that being said, my money's on either Shinnok or Liu Kang.
 
Did I predict Fujin yet? Because that would be cool.

Liu Kang, Fujin, Quan Chi, Raiden, and Onaga are the odds on favourites.
 
Well, these are the same clowns who made Blaze a boss, so I guess anything is possible.

My gut feeling says Noob, but the realist in me says Quan Chi or Liu Kang. I don't see how either of the latter would be a "surprise", but it's just what I'm feeling.
 
I agree that Ed probably is referring to casual fans when he says "people won't see it coming". My aunt, her being a fan of the original movies and not so much a gamer, I know for sure if she saw Liu Kang as a bad guy/boss, she would trip the hell out.

As diehards, I think its kind of expected from us to not be surprised about almost anything MK.
 
I suppose I'll lend my two cents.

I predict that Kano will scavenge Kabal's remains, and turn them into some sort of crazy powerful hyper lethal cyborg constructed in the image of a Shao Kahn-Kitaro hybrid. That zombie cyborg (to be known henceforth as Zomborg Kabal) would seize the Outworld throne by force and act as a puppet for Kano to control what is arguable the most powerful plane of existence current time, which we would use for the sole purpose of exacting vengeance upon Sonya Blade via commiting the entirety of Outworlds military might to tracking down and brutally murdering her and Johnny Cage's daughter, Cassie. Cassie, being the badass motherfvcker she is after inheriting genes from two separate hyper lethal combatants will proceed to dismantle the entirety of Outworlds armed forces before challenging Zomborg Kabal (and by extent mastermind Kano). She will succeed. Then Kano will walk up from behind her (and for some reason despite being a kickass warrior she won't hear his not at all silent footfalls) and it'll be revealed that he's been possessed by the essence of Shao Kahn as he brutally snaps her neck. Enter final boss battle as Sonya and Johnny tag team vs Zomborg Kabal and possessed mastermind Kano.

I think that seems reasonable, no?
 
I hope it would be Noob Saibot. I think seeing as how he's been resurrected by Quan Chi he could tie into the Shinnok/Quan chi teaser. He could've been a part of some plan of their's since it seems he did it for no other reason than to mess with Scorpion. Seeing as how he has a direct tie to scorpion and sub zero I think it'd make him seem bigger character and he may even ...idk turn into sub zero again at some point? That's the only decent way I can see them getting out of that cyber sub zero pit fall. Even if they want to say Sub Zero (Kuai) had a kid and that's the new offspring...idk. But I could almost see it being like a big surprise because maybe they resolved the thing with tobais and so it's the main villian is a suped up netherrealm ruling tag team of Noob and Saibot and you gotta do a tag fight (Is tag team fights in this?)
 
Reiko seems possible. Rain either. They had always a potential to be important for MK lore unlike Baraka, Sheeva, Kano.. Others would be boring(Quan Chi/Shinnok/Undead Liu Kang etc.)
