This game blows.

There are way more ridiculous exploits and cheesy players for literally every other MK game, WAY more than in MK9 without exception (if you want proof, just watch an UMK3 tournament). The best players use exploits and glitches. That's why they keep patching the game, to make it more fair. If you're going to get THAT salty about losing, stay offline.

Maybe it would have been better for you back in the day of arcade cabinets where it's enough to be the best/most-knowledgable in your community, but this is nation-wide.

I'm not trying to attack here, I just think 'this game blows' is a bit harsh for one of the best fighting games to come out amidst an entire resurgence of the genre.

meh, you can't play for money online though. :/ Im telling you guys, have like 10 people come to your house. Charge $10 per participant. Establish rules before hand. Make it bracket style. And I'm telling you, you will have more fun with it than you've ever had before. My last tourney someone walked away with $90. And everyone had a blast.

Not gonna lie.. That sounds like a really good time. Add some drinks and stuff to the equation. Damn good time.

My friends are all poor lol so I can't do this but it is an awesome idea! Make it even more awesome? Have all the matches be in Test Your Luck mode just to piss off the players lol

See, the reason I like it here is the way you all responded to this. None of you were dicks about it. All levelheaded. I <3 u guyz

I've been having the same problem so i said **** it, ill just wait for the sequel. I just bought street fighter third strike and been loving it ever since. I lose all the time but its still very, very fun. I will always love mk9 but its a serious chore playing people online.

? Why would the online community change with the sequel?

? Why would the online community change with the sequel?

Most likely not but the mechanics of the game should change with a sequel. If the mechanics are changed and upgrades made then the online community would have to change the way they play.

My xbox live membership has been expired for like 2 weeks and I don't even want to renew it because I could care less about MK9 online.

Does this mean you don't want to fight me? :aetsch:

But all in all, the online for this game isn't fun at all. Getting that Outstanding achievement just isn't possible for some players. I'd reach a wins streak of 5, then face some kids who know 70% combos with Cyrax and all those other broken characters. I'm really getting mad at the online community, considering I only have a good game online once in a Blue Moon....
(I love that song. ^.^)

But yeah, I online have fun online when I'm fighting my friends. I actually removed one of my friends because he was always playing uber-hard to win and not for fun whenever he fought my other friends and I.

Wow, people have to be super casual only then huh? I'd like to hope most people like a fighting game for what it is and would atleast respect when their opponent plays that way. Trying to win and figure out you opponent and trying hard is fun for people. You're acting like playing hard isn't fun.

It was probably was for fun for him.

What's wrong with being super-casual? I don't like facing try-hards that memorize these long combos and turtle whenever I attack them. I do know i'm better than the average casual, but I don't like playing with people that do nothing but sit on this game all day.

Troll hunting is a serious chore. Spammers suck; I'll beat the 2-0 most of the time, decline the rematch and go "Well, that was a waste of time..." There's always a bunch of sub-humans in the Player Chat rooms. Always. And the only people that will accept my challenge are the f**king trash-talkers. The people that are quiet either decline or ignore me. Maybe it's my high Player server W/L ratio (about 1600/700, I think) that draws them away? So what?! These are PLAYER MATCHES. They count for nothing! Private Matches even count on that record! Some of the matches on my Player Match record are from friendly private games, training sessions with friends, and n00bs. Maybe only about 300 of my wins are on actual really good players.

These days, I look for the "TRMK" or the "Gamefaqs" rooms. I almost always make a friend there and usually the the players in that room are pretty good.

However, RANKED matches always SUCK. I run into the scummiest, saltiest, rancid cyber-terrorists out there! I wouldn't be surprised if I actually played a game with Satan there. I have NEVER had this bad of an experience with any other fighter-based RANKED server. SSFIV, MVC3, Soulcalibur IV, Blazblue CS, Tekken---none of them were THIS bad. My opponents are almost always screaming into the mic, exploiting glitches, sending hate-mail, sending "HAHA YOU SUCK!-mail," doing the suggested FPS t-bag (even though it looks like they're giving me head), exploiting Kung Lao, or counter-picking. Whatever they do, that douchebag highschool jockey-attitude just seeps from every pore in their body! I never even touched Tag Ranked because this can happen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ja6zk-ZWaT4

Keep the game though and play with friends! D: That's what I do, at least. Play in "TRMK" rooms only! OR try a speed-run up Challenge Tower! xD I re-did the campaign mode and it was just as fun as the first time lol

You have managed to touch on EVERY one of my problems with this game. Honestly. Just the whole attitude about the online is disgusting. And it makes playing that much worse and not worth the time. I'm definitely keep the game and enjoy offline with my pals and maybe the campaign again and sometimes the ladder. Thanks for the response, dude.

**** online, the reason im still in love with this game is because I play offline with my brother and cousin all the time, truly amazing, no lag, no spamming, paradise

LOL the only reason I'm getting gold again is to fight my fellow TRMK members
